Camera is a beautiful word. So many vowels. It sounds like some kind of beautiful mythical creature, not like a man-made machine.

His face was as marble – unmoving, stern, fixed on her with no trace of emotion. She had believed up till now that he had a more humane side, but all those hopes had been dashed to the ground.

The horses were breathtaking. Running wild and free, the wind whipping through their manes, they seemed romantic and wonderful. But after they had been rounded up and placed in the corrals, they looked like any other horses – tamed and diminished, no longer a romantic vision.

Elorne kept her mouth shut and ran after the novices. It was better to just let them think she was stupid – any attempt at displaying her advanced training would be considered showing off. Over the next few weeks, she kept her distance from the Masters, studying and exercising with the novices, honing her skills and waiting for her father to return.

His laughter slowly faded as he realised that no one was laughing with; they were all staring at him, some with expressions of shock, some with confusion. Once again he was forced to confront the fact that he was the outcast here, the stranger.

Solitaire kept sad lonely people busy before TV and computer games came out.

Sooner than I expected
And for some reason your absence is more potent than your presence
The hole you left in my life something I never noticed before, now an everyday reality

No concrete form
Yet no less real

I am positively sure and completely convinced that nothing in this world is enough to lessen God’s love for me or to make Him give up on me.

I follow the prints you left
Scattered in my home
I pick up your tracks and trace them
All over town
Until I find you bruised and bleeding
And bring you back

He created a patent so potent it held the potential of praise from the parliament and people alike

A time of colour, but also of fading
A reminder that nothing lasts forever
A reaping of labour rewarded
And a knowledge that this death won’t be forever

Alarmist. That’s what they called him. They would not believe that he had really seen the dragon’s lair, that he had heard the goblins’ plans. They called him crazy, untrustworthy. But Senchen knew what he had seen. And even if they did not believe him, he was determined to save the village.

The sweet combination of freedom and a sunny day made them forget that they needed to be back home by six

He suddenly had an epiphany.
Taking the puppy by the scruff of its neck, he carried it outside, put it down on the grass, and waited.
Sure enough, the puppy stood still for a few seconds, then began to shake intensely, and within seconds it had transformed into a chimera.

I have not found many things that I deem worth being passionate about.
It takes so much effort. And I hate mediocrity. So I’d rather not do something if I can’t do it fully.

He led them well
This husband of the fields
Torn from his flock to help the raggedy group of survivors
They looked up to him
Listened to him
And he led them to higher ground

The artistry of violence
Embedded in her bones
Bruised into her face for all to see
The signature of the artist black around her eye
Bleeding from her lips
Who are you to say this is not art?

I’m not sure I believe in you
of my heart
Seems a dream too fragile to imagine
Will I meet you?
And if I do, will I have the courage to trust again?

I can not relate last night’s dream with real life. Truly, what comes out in my subconscious is sometimes really disturbing. Perhaps I have underlying issues?

Chess. Fantasy. Beer. So many different meanings. Fortress. Monument to man’s pride. Architectural wonder. Crumbled ruins explored by tourists.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…
Nonsensical little rhyme.
Who is Jack anyway? Perhaps his line of work, by definition, would have made him interesting…

Warfare – terrible in reality, romanticised in novels, played at by boys, vicariously experienced by gamers. Called an ‘art’ by some – what kind of species would want that kind of art form?

welling up in her eyes
As you look past and keep on walking, instantly forgetting her threadbare clothes, dirty feet and pleading eyes
And get into your shiny car

I have a strong conviction
That all car guards
Are evil criminals
Preying on the innocent
Not even able to protect cars
Stalking us as we leave the building

It’s stacks of fun to put on my purple dotted gumboots and go out in the rain, jumping over and into puddles like an exuberant six-year-old. There’s nothing quite like enjoying nature and marvelling at God’s creation without worrying what others will think of you.

Iron was mined by the dwarves for its amazing ability to produce quality armor and tools. At first, they only used it for their own purposes, but they quickly discovered that they could turn a major profit by selling iron-forged weaponry to the other races.
