I’m singing in the wrong key lately. I miss even vaguely being able to play the piano. I have car keys, but I left the house keys at home because the girls are home all day. Because I have the only car. I wish they’d stop leaving her on empty. .

I’m really not miserable. I’m broke but I’m happy. She bought an Alanis Morrisette vinyl the other day and it skipped on the player, and she was so disappointed. This is the life, even if it aches a little.

Northamtpon Brewery and Irish music. I have “She Moved Through the Fair” stuck in my hread already. I understand why Irish music is so metrical now, it helps you walk when you’ve had a pint.

I’m spiraling out .I’ve already written on this word today. Whoops. This is a mess. She’s a mess but she’s beautiful. What do I do for her? Not again. Not this again.

She could never decide if she liked beards. She didn’t have another experience to know if kissing someone with one was a nice experience, but so far she knew that kissing someone with the ability to grow a beard could be a scratchy experience if they didn’t shave close enough. Most of the time when she saw someone with a beard her noticed two things; if the beard was streaked with grey, if the texture was dissimilar to the hair on their head, and

Grief spills out like a spring. It burns. And then cleanses. And I am well again.

I want to flee the city. Correction: I need to flee the city. There is fire in front of me, there are ashes behind me. No way of escaping. I cannot escape the city, nor the haunting memories of my dead family, the throes of my own heart.

I deserve to choose happiness unapologetically, unfetered by doubt, and with full acceptance by myself. If I’m not happy I can’t make anyone else happy.

she was in a hurry when she came out and grabbed a random coat hanging by the chair on her way out to and from the kitchen, of course her socks would be mismatched. so when he greets her by the door after she slams the door open after hearing what, about fifteen doorbell rings, she’s bewildered when he takes on scan down her body and laughs. actually guffaws.

After a long photo shoot the catwalk was the last things she wanted to do, the show it self was bright but the business end filled her with dread. The flash of people that submerge her was a different and depressing tail filled with drama and glam, but she loved it all the same

pepper makes my nose sting. peppers are a delicious vegetable that i like to put in stir fries. pepper is often a dog’s name..did my grandparents have a dog named pepper? maybe..i bet she was white and fuzzy with a little black spot on her face. Pepper also makes me think of peppermint, and peppery things

Tofu is something that I’ve never really, truly, tried. But it’s revered by foodies and health nuts and vegetarians everywhere and my dad would be prepared to show me how to cook it, so maybe I should…

a kind gesture can mean the world to someone in need of it. the world is so damn broken and we truly do need more kindness. It could be the difference between life and death for a person such as me. A person so unwilling to live.

Why is she so sad? Tears well up in her eyes and I see her like a painting, all rich hues and highlights. The smile finally broke, I guess. Like porcelain. They do say the ones who smile most are the most broken inside.

Chocolate. Choosing which dessert I want at the Chocolate Sparrow is always hard. Had tiramisu yesterday. I had an Italian boyfriend once who used to make fun of how I mispronounced that word apparently.

Ugh. I wish he would pay attention to me instead of that goddamn computer all the time. This is why I’m banging someone else. Someone who knows what he’s doing, to boot. Poor thing has no idea, sitting in the glow of his computer screen like he has me back.

We’re taking personality tests in Psychology class recently. Inkblots that look like trees and explosions and jack-o-lanterns to me look like entirely different things to someone else….

“I can’t believe you never got a puppy. I promised you’d get a puppy!”
“When did I promise that?”
“When you moved off campus, and then I was suppose to live vicariously through you, coming over and petting it all the time.”

Standing, how long will I be standing on this cold tile floor? Three people still have to sing before I’m up and if I sit I may lose my place in line. I really want this role, what if they think I’ve given up? My feet ache….

my son Nolan plays the trumpet. I do not consider myself to be a big fan of the brass family, but I sometimes really enjoy the sound. Today, while running I consciously thought how much I enjoyed this trumpet in a rap song of all things. Anyone who can play it, is

The complexity of the move has caused the whole affair to take the entire summer. It seemed simple enough, until both houses had to be painted and fixed. And then the apartment came about. So now there were two places that everything needed to go to, not to mention the piano to the sister.

When I was little I had an imaginary friend I called Aura. As I get up and learned the significance of that name I’ve never been able to shake the feeling that she was more than imaginary. It takes more that imagination to play on a seesaw with no one doesn’t it?

On the railway from Chicago to St. Louis, the Lincoln Express, because it cuts through Illinois and the state is obsessed with that man. It was there that I met a man coming all the way from Detroit. He was nice although I was initially sad to discover I wouldn’t the row to myself, but the train was crowded after all, and he was a better seat partner than some.

Influence happens to all of us. Whether it manipulates your emotions into feeling a certain way or your mind to think a certain way, we all experience influence in our everyday lives. Some are influenced more than others and it depends on those of us who are close to us, or peer pressure. We too can influence ourselves to think and feel a certain way if we get our brains to believe this.

Joyous. That’s the thing that everyone wants to be. It’s what people think everything else in their lives is supposed to add up to — everything that they work for. It’s the thing that most people don’t think they are and are scared they won’t ever be, but they keep going just in case.

Twins, couples, friends, enemies, lovers. So many different types of relationships, they all teach you something different, it only takes one other person.

If you’ve no place to live, this is what you become. You’re destitute, if you live in this economy and have no job and sometimes this will happen to you. Gimme shelter. If you’ve used up all of your money and they evict you, this is what happens. Many are happy in this place though. Some prefer to live like this, they don’t want handouts. Skid row for example is the home for these people.
