wall

i have stared blankly at many. others have become friends, adorned with beauty and images of family. underrated, walls. i like mine.

bellow

lions and oceans bellow and roar. thunder and lightning bellow with the majesty of something so beyond human control. bellow is pain and fierce emotion and everything intense.

abstract

irritating reminders of english and papers and homework. things that I’d prefer not to think about. a word that reminds me of pompous hipsters. not a word i particularly like, actually. i prefer the concrete and real.

comfort

comfort is overrated. the sweatshirts and the steaming bowls of soup and the tea; the bmw’s and the 3000 square foot houses and the beach houses; too much, too much. better to have given more than you ought than to have kept more than enough.

radical

that book that david platt wrote. something vaguely related to chemistry. Jesus. ghandi. mother theresa. steve jobs. radical inspires me. i don’t think radical-ness is attained in the way most people think though–it’s not just being weird but being good and kind.

castle

castles in the air. i built a lot of those when i was a kid. never did like the image though. i tended to build cottages instead, where everything and everyone was cozy. castles are cold and excruciatingly sad, it seems to me. people have a habit of getting beheaded in them.

compassion

jesus. the way he cared about everyone. the way he always cared, even if the caring didn’t do any good. his disciples were so confused and tried to make sense of it, but jesus defied sense. he cared. he was compassionate. ghandi and mother theresa and the tears of care that anyone with a heart cries.

poison

poison is something very bad. it kills or harms in ways unexplainable, because once you consume poison and it stays inside your body, it is going to eat your body in one way or another. unless you throw it up, but this is stupid because i should be writing about something philosophical but i’m taking it way too literally. agh writing is really stupid and hard. writing is like poison almost.

lock

a lock is something that can block out a lot of things. sometimes it’s a guard that goes up around your heart or soul or something like that. a lock can often be unlocked by a key, but a special person or thing holds that key. special. yeah, and the key is also hard to get to. and the lock is hard to break more often than not. a lock, sometimes sucks, but once they are unlocked, it’s a lot better.

chalkboard

teachers like to use chalkboards to demonstrate to their classes in the old days their lesson plans. CHalkboards are fun to write in cursive with, they can get you dirty though and i hate the sound of nails on it. It gives me shivers and makes me shake and feel queasy. But i like writing on them, it feels good.

mineral

Mining is a thing of the past. Or is it? Miners have always been around and probably always will be. They find things in the earth we couldn’t even dream of. The earth produces such a vast array of things that we haven’t even scratched the surface. Minerals come in so many varieties that it’s hard to know how many there really are. There are diamons and ru

corner

i don’t like the corner pieces of brownies, unlike most people. i’m just not into that. i would think the word corner would describe someone who worked with corn.

salt

white grains taste bad and is overused in most cases. Takes over taste buds, desensitizing and resulting in more of it’s own use.

stripes

black and white, yellow and red. Stripes can be on clothing, on hats, on wrapping paper. They are very stylish. Some people think they make you look larger when you wear them on a top, but this is apparently not true. There are vertical, horizontal, thin, fat.

pour

pouring everything into the lovely little sieve that is me….
making me into a vessel and trying to get me to accept pessimism.
I won’t I won’t I won’t. I will fight for my right to be a stupid idealist.
