The day I found out what they had done, to me, to my family, to my nation, the feeling was unquenchable. Entrapment. Repression. Exhaustion. they all hit. And I wanted to escape.

The man couldn’t help but feel a great sense of gratitude. What the family had done for his leg was so generous. Forever would he be grateful for their kindness in helping him pay for the prosthetic leg.

In the forefront of my mind is this unfathomable space that is full of essences and odours of past luxuries, memories, and smiles. Every once and awhile, I pour them out, and sip, gulp, and drought. They dance all across my tongue, down my throat and into my stomach where they are churned and consumed, and eventually return to that space in the forefront of my mind.
