    Sinking

    ships
    blue, -water

    silence
    sound

    Sound of
    no air
    in my
    lungs

    lungs
    can’t, -expand

    drowning
    living

    living for

    Pint
    of ice cream
    a cup
    clasped
    between your

    fingers
    (cold)
    keeping the water droplets

can’t find your love in the supermarket
    maybe i don’t want it
    much harder to maintain
    i can’t eat those problems

    Two feet on the pavement,
    one step above the crosswalk,
    and across is the vision
    of you, features highlighted by
    bright sunlight;
    your own golden glow

    leave me breathless,
    why don’t you?

  • YeSomebody commented on the post, delighted 5 years, 3 months ago

    In a dark room,
    candles on cakes
    I stand in front
    center of attention
    no crown on my head
    but still the focal point
    of this party

To point the lens of a camera to the audience that knows you’re there, there are, most times, two distinct reactions. One is to shy away, hide. Those are the camera shy. Two is to smile, attract the attention of the photographer, get you to take their picture. Those are the shameless. That, of course, is an overgeneralisation, but it serves its…[Read more]

There is something within me, pressing against my heart and restricting its beats. It sings in a language that I cannot translate, and I am left lost, alone in its call.

    I wanted to borrow something.
    So I crept.
    On tiptoes.
    Into your room.

    You were asleep.
And I didn’t want to wake you.
    So I took.
    What I meant to borrow.
    And stole.

    I have a photograph of a mountain.

It is backlit. The sky is the brightest blue, and the mountains are dark. It hurts my eyes.

    It is my favourite photograph.

The mad dictator cannot see that this boy in front of him is serious.

    “You dare not.”

“You do not see what I dare.” The raven-haired boy breathes. His fingers loosen of the neck of the girl he holds.

“You will not,” the mad dictator tries.

“I will,” says the boy, and he smiles.

  • YeSomebody commented on the post, intent 6 years, 3 months ago

    I do not know
    your intent
    but no one ever
    does, do they?

    They will take your lies
    because
    why would you lie?
    to a total stranger
    to a close friend
    but they
won’t be the ones to bear the consequences anyway

  • YeSomebody commented on the post, instant 6 years, 3 months ago

That one instant, where something might have been done, something that might have prevented this, is passed. It is dead and nonexistent. (But how can something be nonexistent when it was there to be dead? How can it exist?) There, of course, is no sound set to go off, no grand, ceremonious, flamboyant announcement from the victor. This is not the…[Read more]

I peeked, like a child with
    wide eyes
    looking in at the presents
    in another home
    in another family
    under the nice tree
    undisguised glee on my face
    so obvious, anyone
    would’ve known
    like a travesty,
    a parody of joy
    twisting just so
    in my gut
    in my innards
    spilling down onto
    fresh wet snow

    Expectations…
I have come to expect them.
    Like a physical
    (comforting tangible)
    weight, or a burden;
    sometimes reassuring
    in all its familiarity,
    other times pressuring,
    always against the rib-cage,
    restricting breath.

    Confined through
    chains and shackle,
    I think,
    through curious lens,
    how it might be,
    to let go of…[Read more]

  • YeSomebody commented on the post, flee 6 years, 4 months ago

Do you promise me wonders, gold and all that my heart can ever desire… and more? Do you promise adventure, success and happiness? Can you do that for me? Bring me all that I wish and all that I never thought to wish?

If you cannot, then I shall stay where I am. I am content here, I shall not flee from this place.

  • YeSomebody commented on the post, fools 6 years, 4 months ago

Fools, you cannot get it right! You see the world through your lens outdated and continue to live in denial of new advancements and scientific progress and better schedules that would benefit everyone.

Make that change, please. (I’d almost beg.)

(I despise whoever thought it was a good idea to allow you people in power.)
