Prints. I want all my favorite words printed across my chest (on a shirt, I mean). Then I could say anything, and not really have to say it. I couldn’t do it like Ingle, print my affirmation on my skin (and besides, I think, with me? The print would just wash, or fade, off.)

Riot! Let us *riot*! In the streets, in the squares, in the court, down the block! You were right- it’s time to riot. You’re suggestions aren’t so bright, but who cares, it’s time for riots.

Welcome to the Bo Show… I’m pretty sure that has a copyright so… I saw a drawing today, a comic, some people on a bus all with the same thought that the rest of the world was sheep and they were the one intelligent person. Maybe I’ll walk to school so I can think this […]

  • Ammi commented on the post, castle 7 years, 12 months ago

My novel took place in a castle, there was a clocktower and dungeons and workrooms. Now that idea’s gone kaput and I was considering a manor, but a manor can’t be in the center of a floating city nor can it have a giant bell tower. Darn. On the other hand castle are where dreams […]

Mutual trust. Mutual respect. Mutual hatred. Mutual bonds. Virtually untrue. Mutual understanding. You get it, they get it. Mutual ‘it’s all good’.

  • Ammi commented on the post, dull 8 years ago

Dull. Life was terribly dull, no more bright than the old silverware and sun-bleached paintings. Life was dull around the edges, of the pot the had cracked years ago, and the color of the marble birdbath. Life was dull.

  • Ammi commented on the post, warfare 8 years ago

(A very bad thing, right? Right?) E turned on to her side, facing the wall not the window but the sounds of the march could still be heard, the flashes from the fireworks still be seen. The parade was loud and jarring and close, closer than anything had seemed- or been- in months. It sounded […]

I care, okay? Too much. Sorry.

  • Ammi commented on the post, conviction 8 years ago

Conviction. Convicted? Was that one girl- the one in Italy, the Hayden Panettiere actress one convicted? What’s conviction. Where’s my dictionary….

  • Ammi commented on the post, stacks 8 years ago

The stacks are high, about 30 card soldiers each side. The stakes are higher, the fate of Wonderus in their hands. Behind the hay stacks the twins creep. He motions to his sister- ‘shh’. They play too big a role in this revolution for such small children. She raises her staff. They stand and raise […]

    “Fey.”
    “…fey? Feint.”
“No, this isn’t another fencing lesson. Listen carefully. Fey. The Good Neighbors, Faire Folk. Those allergic to iron, flames from a cipher branch, direct sunlight.”

  • Ammi commented on the post, mystery 8 years ago

It’s a mystery! It’s cliche much. She dips her hand into the blackblue water and pulls out a handful of fall leaves. It’s okay- nothing here surprises the three of them anymore. Not the nets hung above the trees just to catch falling angels or the steps around the trees so that the ghosts don’t […]

  • Ammi commented on the post, setting 8 years ago

Settings are more than a time and place. Settings make a story. Settings… are there enough places at the table? Is one empty. Is the castle under siege but the sun doesn’t seem to care? Is the home dilapidated from outside but something completely else once you step in. Are there charred wallpaper walls, or […]

  • Ammi commented on the post, morality 8 years ago

Morality. The way I see it, if you’re immortal, you don’t have to have it. But no one- as far as I know, excluding my friends might-be Italian boyfriend, no one is, so go get some. We do stupid things and say it’s because of morals. You, well not exactly /ignore/ me but you sure […]

  • Ammi commented on the post, half 8 years ago

Glass half (full/empty). Half of your grade. Half of my life. Half of the time I think… Half a mile. Half a horror. Half of my heart…
Of all things, love should be the last thing in pieces.

  • Ammi commented on the post, pressed 8 years ago

Pressed. The reporter ((why had he let her in anyway. she was too small, too loud, like a bug of some sort)) kept asking questions. ((She should have already know everything. She’d stolen and read his journals)). ? She kept pressing on when he already felt FLATTENED.

  • Ammi commented on the post, preoccupied 8 years ago

Actually I am preoccupied right now. Tests and questions and answers and grades and, god, doesn’t anyone ever shut up….

  • Ammi commented on the post, convinced 8 years ago

How can I convince her to join the G.S.A with me ((by the way, I like how I can keep a diary n here ad no one cares)). It’d be difficult to convince her it was a good idea- a good girl like her wouldn’t think of that you see. Anyway. The hard part will […]

  • Ammi commented on the post, port 8 years ago

Salt water scrubbed ships pull into the port. It’s hectic, in a fantastic sort of way- traders from overseas unloading boxes of who-knows, merchants hawking their wares, patterned cloth and shiny bits, magic captured in colored glass, it smells like fish and far away.

  • Ammi commented on the post, couch 8 years ago

The couch was almost impossible to find, hidden beneath bright, frayed blankets and an enormously fat cat. The cat woke up and snarled, swishing it’s tail as he sat on one side, sagging the cushions uncomfortably. He scooted as far away from the tomcat as the couch would allow.
