The crescent moon has always fascinated me. I always wondered if it’s points count cut the sky. if the reason you never saw any light inside it is if the stars were afraid. Afraid to get between the horns.

I lifted her slowly, gently. You have to be careful when they are this small. Fortunately, she didn’t seem to stir as I carried her up to her room. As I pass by my loving wife, she gives a small nod. I never […]

It was a blast. Not a burst, or a spread, but a blast. Its always aggravating when people get those two confused. I understand that they are exaggerating for emphasis, but it is a very simple distinction. Just […]

  • The president is supposed to be imposing, powerful, r at the very least strong. maybe not strong of body, but with a healthy intellectual appetite. He is a man who can send people to the moon on a word, and if you tell me he has no drive, no desire, I will show you someone […]

It was a heart. the soul and center of everything. I broke my heart I lost my heart, I gave it away, that’s what everyone says after all. they talk about a heart like its something entirely divorced from them self, yet still vitally important. No one ever truly knows how important until it’s lost.

  • It was a daunting combination. Peanut butter and Ice cream? I’ve always found cold peanut butter to be brittle tasting, and all wrong. Whereas hot ice cream is disappointment in a bowl. But I trust the magicians, Ben and Jerry. Who knows, they may succeed.

  • The way he controlled the piping bag belied his experience. It was truthfully not his fault, no one could keep their eyes off her either. She glided through the room, as if walking on a cloud.

I sat very stil in my chair. I didn’t want Papa to get upset at me. I don’t like Papa when he is upset. I wondered when mommy was coming back. Papa said that mommy couldn’t come back anymore, and then he started crying. I’ve never seen Papa cry before.

  • This is my land. These are my sheep. This is my living. My fathers and my ancestors worked this land, and I am it’s caretaker. I am a proud man.

  • Slide back the hammer, aim the sight, breathe out. It doesn’t matter that you’ve never used this gun before, take your time. Look the devil in the eye. Prove your still worth a damn old man. This automatic may kick like a mule, but you’ve dealt with worse.

Standing on the edge of the stage, I looked out in to the audience. It’s amazing how someone will truly show exactly what they think when they think no one is looking. When the bright lights of the stage shroud you from view, you feel above reproach. Well; I see you.

Little Jeremy danced around the playground. He always enjoyed the music in his head more than any I played for him. I would catch him, sitting and the piano, playing as soft as he could. I know he loved me, but I always knew someday he would grow past what his older brother could teach […]

He pressed his hand against the symbol. He wondered just what would happen; nothing in the books had prepared him for this. his hand ached from the open wound, and his head throbbed from the loss of blood. Blood magic is not to be trifled with.

  • It was a voyage. A personal voyage. I went to the burger king. now this may be a simple and mundane activity for some, but for a recovering vegan it was hard. I had managed to escape my hippie parents clutches for long enough to sneak to the golden arches’ rival, and I couldn’t wait […]
