    I made chocolate pudding for dessert. The kids loved it. There asked for more helpings. I was thrilled. Memories of my grandmother making chocolate pudding during our summer vacation came back. I was in a jaunty mood all throughout the day with cheerful kids around and memories of my childhood at our grandparent’s place.

    Capitalism is a word he hated. He was a staunch communist in the caste laden area. He lost his land, he lost his earnings as he always lent a helping hand to the needy. He was more with the people outside his house than his own family. He always cared for the people around him.

    I didn’t have a lighter to light my cigarette. I asked the lady who was sitting next to me with her back facing towards me. She turned around and I was taken aback. Million memories came back pounding my heart. But she didn’t recognize me. She looked startled in response.

    He was perplexed. He arrived thinking she would be there, but the house was empty. Her things were thrown all around the house, giving him a benefit of doubt. She might be in danger he thought.     He was loading the sacks of rice into the truck. His mind was wandering like the people in the street. His daughter was unwell. With his minimal wages he can’t afford to take her to the doctor for her treatment.
