    On a cellular level, things were okay. On every other level, life felt like it was disintegrating around her. Nothing was as it should be, her chest tightened further at the thought of what she had to do, what she didn’t want to do.

    He was sitting, tapping his fingernails lightly on the table. Nervously he looks around him, she should be here by now. He takes a drag of his cigarette before stubbing it out angrily. Why should he stand for this? It was not his duty!

    There are many things in life that ground you. Something that keeps you sane and helps you be the ‘normal’ human being we are expected to be. Yet still we seem to drift off path, burn old bridges and make the same old mistakes as well as new ones. Nothing is as stable as it seems, the theory that life can be anchored merely a myth.

    If only one thing was certain, is that no matter where you go, there is at least one constant. Everything you witness through that glass is witnessed over it, every new place framed by it.

    The place where I feel safe, is where many have gone to die. It is dark yet light during the height of the day, the warmth from years gone by in the solid ground surrounding me with hope. I hide here where many have come to thrive.

    She was punished as a child and as an adult punished in return. No one knew why and she would take to the grave before letting anyone into her soul.
    It was not logical, that she knew, but it was more ingrained into her being than breathing. The loathe people felt for her was no match for the loathe she felt for herself.
