To say that the government is in the business of revenge and retribution
    Is correct.
Assuming the punishments are a front for resource grabbing wars in far flung countries.

    An offering,
    Burning cinders, in remembrance
    Of what they once were:
    An offering,
    Smoking petals, a payment
    In debt to the earth.

    Helicopters have it good,
    They don’t have to remember.
    Same goes for trees,
    Hah! Plants never remember,
And it’s always PEOPLE who wanna forget.
Don’t deserve it if you ask me.

Hoisted and slung like the carcass
It is, your backpack hangs off
    Your shoulder, black and damp
    And tatty.

    Now that’s love.

    Disjointed images
    Jumbled,
    jumping about
    Relevant,
    and poignant
    But no image more
than the death of your brother.

    Pivot and observe,
    A past time, with its
    Own occurrences,
    Deserved in full,
    Never to be regretted.

    By a teasing tail
    That’s what was
    At least,
    Tempting me,
    Though the tiger above remains
    Stalwart
    Stonely
    Quiet
    Solemn.

    That you would come here
    Where you’ve only broken dreams
    Lost your will
    And memories
Of when you broke all ten toes
    At once.
    Curious,
    Is all.

    Hydrocarbonic

Eating up as they are consumed,
Exhausting themselves as the burn away,

    Emptied of its usefulness,
You coffee cup lies broken and crushed
    On sympathetic pavement
More willing to hold the dead cup up
    Than its former master.

    It waits for you
