Yes. So, then I had a crush on that tall blond actor with whom I was in the same high school play. He did not pay me any attention – none whatsoever. He knew he was good. The trouble was, I also could see that he was good. It’s like his gift was more than […]

Yes, I’ve had crushes in my life. The first one I didn’t even realise what it was – because it was a girl – and I didn’t have the notion that a girl can be in love with another girl. And simultaneously,, I had a crush on her sweet heart. To make matters mattered complicated, […]

And ethics. What can you say? If you can get away with it -fine, go for it. Morals are a thing that powerful people use to put down less powerful people. While the most powerful people can worship Satan – or have him worship them – if they want. There is ethics – inside a […]

Intense pain. I mean, at labour, obviously. But there are also endorphins, and adrenalin, and excitement, and deep spiritual connection to Mother Earth, and all sort of stuff kicking in. Not to mention the drugs. So, it’s something special and unique. But when your guts tie in knots- just out of embarrassment, or inability to […]

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, cells 7 years, 11 months ago

Oh, yeah! I know this one. A neghbour passing by, asking me, a 10-year old: what book are you reading now? and me saying: Cell in a cell, or where did I come from? Puzzled look on her face. I was interested in cells and DNA, which I could pronounce, the whole word, not just […]

And religion. And creed. No discrimination. Obviously, I mean, how are you going to discriminate against something that is not seen? Hidden inside. You can only discriminate against looks and actions. Does belief have to be seen on the outside?

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, smile 7 years, 11 months ago

Smile and the world smiles with you. Smile is supposed to send some stuff up your brain to make you happy. I actually notice if you smile at strangers they can either just blank you, look alarmed, or in fact smile back. So smile does work from time to time. In a Soviet cartoon about […]

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, station 7 years, 11 months ago

his high station… or hers, but always with inference that the highest station belongs to Him, God. Male god. Masculine God, with his masculine followers, disciples, officers and other persons of high station. It is not about height, blokes. It is about width.

Railway station. Free herbs for everyone to pick. Less hazardous to health than picking herbs up from the sides of a major road – but still, not the healthiest place. An Art Gallery, on the other hand feels very at home at the train station – in the former luggage handling or something like this […]

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, teacher 7 years, 11 months ago

Teacher and teachers. School and nursery. Parents. Father figure – could never understand that. If your Father was your Father figure, than you don’t need another Father figure. If he was not, you would not recognise a Father figure – because how would you know what a Father is?

First teacher of mine quit school soon after I graduated from elementary school. She went into beauty business. But that’s not the strangest thing. The strangest thing is that this business streak in her went together with a mystical approach. She learn all sorts of ‘prayers’ and pagan texts to help her affairs.

Heavy and uncomfortable. Girl scouts, especially their leaders, are supposed to have superhuman properties ( as there are no men around). I am a feminist, right? But there are facts of life. Men ON AVERAGE are physically stronger than women. Moral: Gender-separated camping trips are evil.

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, thief 7 years, 12 months ago

Thief of my heart. Or soul. Or body. Or me. Or not me. I am the thief of his piece, his stability, his manhood, his happiness, his marriage. Thieving. Lacking. Gaining. I only gained one thing: the exploration of the infinity of love.

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, thief 7 years, 12 months ago

The thieves left just a moon in the window. I’m afraid of thieves. Not of the fact that they may steal something, but the fact that they can do harm to me and my family. Also the shock of being robbed itself, I suppose. I don’t know what drives people to become thieves nowadays. People […]

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, wrath 7 years, 12 months ago

Of gods. Or one god. Or women. Or one woman. There’s nothing scarier than the wrath of one woman. I mean, how can a man reply – there is no way. Living in a male world, men do not notice this, as fish do not notice water. Whereas mammals (women) notice the water very well.

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, domestic 8 years ago

Domestic tyrants, domestic squabbles, domestic aprons, domestic wobbles. You never dream to be locked up in a number of walls and a roof – however slanted. And you watch Grand Designs and you dream of a round room with windows.

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, domestic 8 years ago

Had a little domestic, did you? No, not really. Domestic labour more like. Domestic incarceration. Domestic violence. Isn’t funny how not one good noun is connected to domestic? It seems that domus in Latin – home – dom in Russian – is a place of infinite misery. Maybe so. For teenagers and wives it’s especially […]

on Robert DeNiro’s cheek and on my chin. And my daughter’s favourite Czech cartoon series. She nags me every day: “Another one about the mole, another one about the mole”. She knows how to put it on and stop it – at three years!

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, tempted 8 years ago

I’m tempted to just sit in this chair all day. Drinking flavoured teas and watching comforting films. I really overworked yesterday. Juts could not stop. One blog after another, one social network after another. It’s like a vortex. It was sucking my brains out.

  • Ia Sama commented on the post, forgotten 8 years ago

I’ve not forgotten that things smell. I’ve forgotten the exact sensation. But I remember, I know, that spring smells a certain way: there are buds, and moist earth that has freed itself from the snow and now is warmed by the sun rays. And there is fresh dirt. And the smell is joyous.
