I gathered what little belongings I had and jogged up to the lighthouse, slipping a few times on the slime-covered rocks, I had to keep moving, I could sense eyes on me but I dared not to look back. I stumbled up to the lighthouse and had to shift the weight in my arms to reach the keys in my pocket. They slipped out of my grasp and I let out an almost inhuman wail. The heavy rain was already washing a new wave of mud over the ground and my hair was matted over my eyes to my cheekbones. It took me a moment to locate my keys in the dirt but the pink ribbon made them easy to spot. I picked them up and fumbled with the lock before finally pushing the door open and falling onto the black and red tiled floor.
