  1. I was sucked down into the depths of the ocean,
Pulled through a combination of my own will
    And nature’s bottomless love,
Who embraced me like the greatest lover I had ever known.
Truthfully, she was only the second,
But her love was never tainted,
    But all encompassing,
    As I breathed her in.

  2. I was the fastest swimmer of the bunch. I knew the rest of those amateurs couldn’t keep up, I knew that my victory was assured, and yet, I still had a nervous, pounding heart that day.

  3. My friend Max is a great swimmer. Once he swam across the English canal and when he reached the other shore, he turned and swam back again.

  6. There was a swimmer who wanted to beat the best recorded time for swimming a very long distance in frigid water. He was already 72 years old however and he had only learnt to swim in the previous year so this was quite a goal that he had. I wondered if he would succeed.

  7. “I’ve never been a good swimmer.”

“It’s okay. Trust me. I’ll be right beside you if you need support.”

    “Okay.”

    “Okay?”

“Okay.” I inhaled. “Okay. Okay, okay, okay.”

I got waist-deep into the creek before I froze. She waded toward me and put her arms tightly across my shoulders, holding me against her bosom. I exhaled. I felt very warm.

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” she reminded me.

“Oh, but I so want to now,” I half-whispered, half-moaned.

  8. Perched and all-seeing, Matt was the model lifeguard: broad shoulders, chiseled abs, and a face to match. Everyone knew he was a national champion swimmer for his university, and everyone was at ease when Matt was on watch. Unfortunately, Matt was feeling uneasy that day, he had a pounding headache, and the blistering heat wasn’t helping. He decided to jump in the water for a few moments to cool himself off, as he slowly drifted out he became completely relaxed.

Eyes wide, Matt doesn’t recognize the area around him, he tries to stay calm and takes a look around, and out in the distance he sees the shore where he would stand watch. Matt’s body feels sluggish, he’s not his usual self, since he can’t plow through the water like normal. He decided to swim horizontally seeing how he was gaining no progress moving forward, but he was stagnant. The tides are too powerful and his body has become frail and weak. “Help…help me.” He starts to panic, his training goes out the window, and he’s in shock. He flails his arms to get the attention of anyone, but instead, he starts to sink deep into the murky water. His palms fade in front of him, his lungs scream for fresh air, but instead takes in the salty water that envelops him. He falls lifelessly, deeper into an abyss.

    “1…2…3….4— HEY! HEY! HE’S AWAKE”

Matt’s eyes peel open slowly. He sees a number of blurry faces, and as his sight sharpens there’s only one face he recognizes. He quivers and looks up towards broad shoulders, chiseled abs, and a face to match.

“You had us worried there for a second ol’ timer, you shouldn’t go that far out.”

Matt nods and gives a weak smile, but his heart weeps uncontrollably.

  9. Flipping. Spinning. Like grace personified, she danced in the air. Crystalline water droplets from previous dives glittered as they flew from her body; she was moving too fast for them to be able to hold on. So instead they flew into the air, and she dove down. Her lithe body cut through the air like an experienced swordsman’s blade. Down she went, slipping into the water. A moment later she resurfaced at the other end of the curelean blue pool.

  11. “Just because I like swimming, doesn’t mean I’m a swimmer.” Paige said, running the towel over her dripping wet curls as the sun hit her face. “Leave me alone, okay?”

But Emily didn’t listen, as usual. She plopped down on the edge of the pool besides Paige, toes touching the cool liquid. “C’mon, you’re so good! Our school needs someone like you on the swim team. Coach would be so impressed—”

“Em, no. I’m sorry.” Paige stood and wrapped the towel around her neck. “There are a lot of bad memories associated with me and being a swimmer. Me just doing that then? It was enough of a stretch.”

Emily bit her lip and sighed. Pushing some jet black hair behind her ear, she touched Paige’s shoulders. “I’m your best friend…you can tell me anything.”

Paige offered a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “I know, Em. But don’t worry about it.”

  12. I am a swimmer in the life waters. I swim in cold, I swim in hot. I swim till i shimmer i swim till im still. I’m a swimmer in my own soul and the world is my pool. Polluted pool of polluted souls. Time to clean the pool.

  13. Swimmers swam the coast of Marlyand.
They cut through the water with their great big hands.
When they reached the land all the fishies did say,
“Won’t you big fishies come back and play?”

  14. She si a swimmer. Tall, blonde adn beautiful. Physique is her finest quality. Everyone wants to be her. Everyone wants to love her. To watch her swim.. is like watching a butterfly land on flower from flower on a hot summer day in a beautiful meadow of peace.

  15. I am the swimmer of your heart,
    drowning in the blood,
    holding my breathe until
I can’t hold it any longer.
And then I suffocate in you
just like I always dreamed I would.

  16. He was a swimmer. That is all he had ever known himself to be. When he was -years-old, James had fallen into his neighbors pool and almost drowned. In the moments before he blacked out, he saw his future. He would rise above.

  17. swimmer, swimming through mud. not water. not blood. not love. not thoughts. not the sky. not the clouds. not the rain. just mud. It was sweeter than molasses. it was thicker than your mommas thighs. It was like chocolate, and she began to eat it. Then after consuming mud she died.

  20. I was never a good swimmer. When my church used to go to Jaybird spring (a popular pool for church-goers about 10 years ago), I would always just plant my feet in the water. EXCEPT.. Except on one occasion when I tried to be a dare-devil and swim in the 4 foot water (I was about 2 feet back then lol). I almost LOST my life! I was frustrated because my younger cousin Jasmine swam with such ease and grace–and I could barely float. Just the same, I only tried to swim on one other occasion– when I was in Orlando Florida last year–and the story was pretty much the same. Go figure. I SUCK as a swimmer… And I envy all swimmers out there who have made peace and friends with the water. I’ve tried several times and I feel like its not putting forth as much effort as me. I’m calling it QUITS. Me and land look better together anyway!

  21. I think this is a fun activity for students to participate in before a big writing assignment just to get their minds going. I think it could be used as an writing assignment you can ask about a specific concept of a character from a book and just have them free write. I think I would get tons a usable information from this assignment just to see where my students are.

  24. In high school I was a swimmer. I did swim team and I really enjoyed it. I often did the back stroke. To be a swimmer, you must build up a lot of endurance. It takes a lot of practice and skill. I miss swimming and wish that I was still as strong of swimmer as I use to be. I like to watch swimming on the olympics

  25. I hate swimmers. They all seem to believe that they are demigods, superiors to the rest of us, mortals. When I go to the beach, and I realice the belly below my chest, I think about what my brain has to say, instead of my muscles. And all the stupid bullshit that comes out of the mouth of these empty and shallow entities.

  26. A swimmer is a person that swims constantly. She is an experience swimmer. Some swimmers are life guards that enjoys saving people lives. I think that is an awesome thing to do. I’m not a swimmer but I wish that I could swim .When I was a little girl, one of my cousins almost drowned me by throwing me under water. I was so afraid and never learned how to swim.

A swimmer is someone who can keep their body a float while moving throughout the water. A swimmer can swim under the water or on top on top of the water. There are different types of swimming.

  31. There once was a swimmer who was in the top of his swimming class. He wanted so badly to go to the Olympics, but was told he would never make it because he was behind his class academically and if his grades didn’t improve, he would be kicked off the swim team and not allowed to practice anymore.

I had never been able to swim, but now that this was going to be my new career I guess i should start learning. I begged my mom to enroll me in the local swimming lessons.
