taking a step is like moving on.
it can be hard or it can be easy.
it just depends on how far you want to make it
or how long you want it to take you.
so take the next step.
it will be worth it.

A new step out of an old phase of life, into the vast unknown. Intriguing, truly. Can’t help but wonder when the next step will occur.

The guards stepped in and formed a wall around him.
“Move along, you.” said the soldier behind him in a gruff tone as he shoved him with the butt of his rifle.”
With a slight smirk, he turned around and looked straight into the man’s eyes.
“I’d be cautiousl if I were you,” he said in his soft voice. “Oh yes, cautious and a bit more respectful because you have no idea who you are dealing with.”
“Is that so?” the soldier said.
“It IS so” And with a movemnt, quick as lighting, he stabbed the soldier with one of the daggers he’d kept hidden in his sleeves.

I take a step towards you
And you are gone
Into a smoke screen
I am left confused
Nowhere to turn
Nowhere to go.

“Each step is fundamental to getting your life back together!” he exclaimed excitedly, shoving a bright yellow paperback with an old, smiling man in the front.
When I looked less than thrilled at this and refused to take the book from his hand, he faltered and asked, hesitantly now, “You do want to be better, don’t you?”

He paused, and wondered whether he should step over the prostrate body, or ask whether she needed help. None of the others seemed to have paid her any attention. The fact that he had paused at all indicated that there was something different about him. And so, he bent down and offered a simple gesture of humanity. Down the hall a beer was cracked open.

I wanted to write a poem about steps, but I’m not very poetic.
But I can talk of steps in my life.
That have led me to strife.
And now I must live,
beneath the weight of a knife.
And should I die, before I do,
I hope you learned the lesson that
I failed to.

I could hear steps in the darkness. Soft, light, ever so careful steps. Someone afraid of being heard yet more afraid of being alone was approaching, searching some consolation and company from the rest of us in the dark place.
“Come closer”, I smiled. “We won’t hurt you.”

One step is easy. But people can’t just take one step at a time. It’s in our nature to look at the road ahead. The difference, the thing that really separates us from each other, is that some of us can see the end of the road, the goal, and move toward that. The rest of us see the road and are paralyzed with fear that we’ll only get halfway. I know which of those groups I fall into, and even though I’m straining my eyes to see the dot on that distant horizon, I can’t seem to move my feet.

trace ur steps…take one more step…walk the mile…go the distance…take the long road back…keep pushing on…bear the load…face the race ahead of us…face the times ahead in life…step by step

I stepped into a new dimension after I hung up from that phone call. I felt lighter; better. It was as if all the burden of holding you so close suddenly evaporated into the sky and I could hear it whisping away into the sky past my ears. But still. I still wonder what would the world be like if you did not say what you said.

trace them…take one more…walk the mile…go the distance…take the long road back…keep pushing on…bear the load…face the race ahead of us…face the times ahead in life…believe in life…trust in life…try harder than u need to ever try because this is your life now
One step in the wrong direction doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. If you learn from it, it wil even make you a better one.

“Oh, THEY were? What about you?!”

Take one or two at a time. One foot infront of the other or behind, or to the side – which way do you want to go? Move in time to the beat of music. Exercise step. Dance step. Walk step. Lots of steps. Rise and fall. Which do you want to do?

I took one step, one step at a time, towards my target, who knew if I would ever get there? I held my breath with each new step until I thought I would burst from anticipation. Who knew it could be so exciting, this waiting, this suspense, all for the sake of a step?

I took a step towards the light. I didn’t know where it was going to lead me, I didn’t even know that I had died… at least I didn’t think I had died. Did I? What the hell happened? All I knew was the light, there was me and that damn light. What did this all mean?

I’m at a fork in the road. I can step out in any direction. But once I make that first move, I can’t retrace my steps.
One step backward is two steps wasted.
That worries me. If our lives are but a collection of the steps we’ve taken, I’d like to make sure that every single one counts.

I hate Autotune. It creates steps in the audio. It makes everything sound jaggy, artificial, fake, trashy. It’s like taking a brand new BMW and putting twenty trashy bumper stickers all over the back of it.

He didn’t hesitate to step out of the house in the middle of the night. What kind of parents kick their son out of their house just because they liked men? He held his head high, his hands clutching his belongings, hoping that this exit out of his house – the step he took – was an entrance to somewhere else.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. That’s what they always tell me. But then again, I usually get excited over my goals that I take several steps at once, wanting to get to the destination as fast as possible. Lately, I have realized that sometimes, it is the journey that matters and not the destination. :)

Velociraptors step lightly through the dandelions. My cat arches its back, hisses — gone in one snap. Four elegant, clawed steps later, they are at the back door: tap, tap. I answer.
Velociraptors make awful neighbors.

How ironic. I’m listening to a song with the word “step” in it when I just started this. Take one step at a time, that’s all we can do. Gambatte! It’s really daunting sometimes to just take that one step. Inch by inch, slowly, we creep forward. Footsteps echo heavily as we move on. To the future!

One step from now, I’m king of the world. I see the greatest weapon in front of me. All my enemies dead. My allies are dead as well, but I finally have the power and no on can stop me now. Suddenly, I felt sleepy when I heard a very loud sound. Next thing I know, I see jail bars right in front of me.
