Harley submitted their letter of resignation shortly after they finished up the last report of the quarter, and after that, it was all packing up and walking out from there. As they sauntered to the elevator – the standard cardboard box tucked under their arm, the black necktie somewhat loosened against the unbuttoned collar of their french cuff shirt – they were greeted by incredulous glances from colleagues who did not ever imagine that the crème de la crème of the office guard would be leaving.

I quit my job today. I didn’t mean too but I had had enough. One second, I thought I was going to be able to manage it all, but the next second I knew that I was out of there. I looked at my boss like I never had before and picked up my desk and left.

Its about how you start and not how you finish
It is never over it is just the beginning

I just decided that was it. I couldn’t do it anymore. It was over.
I resigned myself to the fact that I couldn’t change who I was, that I would always be taking one step forward and two steps back.

sign me over to the gods
we don’t know their names,
they who seek to give us hope
those whose hope is reason enough to live
who allow sun to trickle in earthly direction
of course, we do not know them
allow me to to swaddled, passed from arm
thin darklit arm to hairy freckled arm to
allow me to be given them as offering
my eyes to close and earth turned down
wisp of quiet curtain against my soul

The complete loss of Hope. When Hope is at an end, this is the feeling. It is the absence of Hope, where Despair is the most desperate of Hopes. Apathy is the absence of Love.

With a heavy heart, I plodded forward. “Me,” I whispered hoarsely. “I’ll do it.” A puff of air escaped from within the caverns of my chest with an ‘oomph’.

I mean, it’s a losing battle
so, I’ll just sit here
can’t accept stagnation
won’t be comfortable with the status quo
i will rebel
my frustration will be my fuel
propelling me from my apathy
jettisoning me on my journey

You turn in your resignation, and just after that you’re gone. You have nothing to do with this life anymore. You’re going to move on, regardless how difficult, trying, and painful it promises to be because change doesn’t come easy. But there are times when you need to turn to the next page.

“I quit!” His voice rang out through the crowed office floor. Cubicals packed tightly around each other with only a little room to walk past.

I handed her my resignation. There was nothing said, just a sympathetic look in her eyes. It took me until I reached the elevator to realize that, though this may be the most bold move of my career, this was another day in the life of my now former coworkers. Everyone is replaceable.

handed in my resignation. “You’re resigning from this friendship?” “I thought I’d treat this friendship seriouslly and also treat it’s ending seriously..
“You want to end this riendship!? WHy!?”
“I just feel like i don’t get anything out of seeing you. LIke sometimes we do an activity together but I’m oly doing it befause I like the ativity, not because I want to spend time with you.”

Forty years, he had put into the company, Forty years of hard work. That was until they asked for his resignation. “Give one of the younger employees a chance” They had said, “Train them, as you are the best”, until finally, it was “We just think someone younger would be better for the job. Besides,” They then added, as if it made all of the difference, “It’ll be nice for you to retire and spend more time with your wife.” His wife had passed away three years ago. They had forgotten, and it was because of this that he had avoided retiring for so long.

With his own resignation, Alexander sighed.
“Alright, Madison. I know I’m a fuck boy. But hear me out: Maria TOTALLY played me. She spoke all sad and was like “dude, you’re so honorable. You gotta give me money and hit this’. Like honestly, J, she had her talons IN.”
“Alex…,” James sighed, “You’re legit SUCH a fuckboy.”

Leave work, employment. Finally time to retire. Also resign myself to imperfections, sins of past that haunt me – but repentance and forgiveness are possible. A future can be different and starts now. Getting older but not a bad thing.m

Never resign to anything. You don’t know anything about anything! We call leaving a job formally as a resignation. It shouldn’t be called as such. It should be called something like freedom.

She tried not to grip the letter too tightly, afraid of bending and distorting the paper. It was time. She had been waiting for this day for several weeks, planning each moment carefully. She would walk in. Say her piece. Give over the letter.

To be quite honest, given the word resignation, I needed to look it up. Google gave me what I already knew, “give up” “resign from job”, etc. Then I found this, “give her the bells and let her fly”
Though it was referring to letting a bird fly with bells on instead of removing them for an easier flight, I couldn’t help but have a theory about this, a relization about life.
Removing the bells before taking off for a designated destination is common sense, make the flight easier, and the better odds that this bird will make it to where it wants to go. However, life isn’t always that easy. Sometimes we are going to have “bells” on us, weighing us down, making the journey a little bit harder then it is for those without “bells”. The question however comes down to you, you didn’t choose the “bells” but its the situation you are dealt with, will you complain and make excuses or give up before reaching your desired place or will you push on through, work that much harder than the others for it. Sometimes being dealt harder cards makes you appreciate it that much more.
Or you can even look at this as why put bells on yourself, don’t add unnecessary things on you that will weigh you down, clear your path, let yourslf have the chance to go after your desired destination.
Given the word resignation doesn’t resignate with me nor should it for anyone. No one should ever give up, quit, walk away, etc.

I even get tired
so I sit
and get tired
is not giving up
but giving so much
that you have nothing
left to run on.

I gave a disheartened sigh and sank lower in my office chair. There was nothing much I could do about William; he was young, rich, and his new-fangled ideas were already getting the company hopping. I couldn’t compete with that. Running my hand through my already disheveled hair, I considered retirement.

She felt defeated…destroyed. There was nothing worse he could have said that could have made her feel more resigned. After all those years of her toiling, he took the final decision about their relationship, and for that, she would never forgive him.
