  3. In pursuit of her goal she was not willing to give up anything. And therefore she had nothing because no one would tolerate what she would do to them. Her goal was to always have her way. Always. She would not give in to anyone, nor did she want anything else.

  12. It was quite a thrill. The jagged edges of the rusty old chainsaw sat comfortably in my hands as I followed the shrill peaks of screams. It could only mean one thing. I was getting closer. He was like putty in my hands. I could feel nothing but the warm blood coursing through my arms as I lunged out to slice at his throat. The blood spewed out in rays. It was electrifying.

Impossibly far away, impossibly perfect, impossibly fast and strong, yet just canny enough to drop behind enough that I catch sight of it and chase after it over and over. My role is set in stone, impossible to shake. As long as I know that it is out there, I will chase after it. There is no other way, though at times I wish it would lose me and let me be, let me give up on the chase.

  23. Dolorai Hammer was becoming fatigued in the pursuit of the Garrulous Bandit, and she stopped at the nearest bedraggled hot spot to find a place to stay. The only place in suitable condition was an age-old tavern that kept its beds hot and its beer nearly frozen, and Hammer was more than happy to pull of her hat, sit down, and watch the frosty tap spew.

    “Not from around here, are you?” asked the tender.

    “Overused question,” Hammer replied.

  26. I am in a pursuit to finish up my 6 page paper that I have lacked on doing. Why? because I am a procrastinator and I still have not learned that. Yes, I have 2 days to write, which gives me just enough time. I am really struggling on what to write because I feel like I am running out of ideas.

  28. We hugged the side of the house as much as possible, pressing our bodies against the wall and holding our collective breath.

    I can swear that I heard footsteps in the tall grass on the other side of the fence. I don’t know how long we waited there. Every second felt like a crisis averted.

She weaved through the compound, a foreboding feeling heavy within her soul coupled neatly with seven shades of panic. She had come to the conclusion that she was in a restricted area and that she really shouldn’t have snuck in that night.
