  1. We were on the playground at the elementary school where we had met seven years ago, where he first kissed me when we were ten. It was just the two of us. We layed on the slide together and looked at the stars. He turned to me and said, “I love you. I know I we sometimes fight and last year was kind of rocky but Im fully committed to you. Everything you do makes me love you more. I was thinking that you might not know how much I care about you, so heres a hint. Caitlynn, will you marry me?”
I didnt know what to say. Well, I did. I just couldnt find words. I nodded violently while a tear fell down my cheek.

  2. I am saddened by the fact that not many kids play on playgrounds anymore. When I was a kid we lived across the street from a playground. We hung out there ALL the time. We pretended the merry go round allowed us to time travel. When it stopped spinning, we would arrive in a new land. We also built forts in the trees.

  8. My playground is all for you. Imagine yourself playing on me. What fun we could have jumping on to the the swings, and fervently flying into the the sky

  10. I see children having fun. It is recess time and the energy coming from the playground resonates from one child to another. There is no time to stop, just time to run, laugh, and play. Soon it will be time to head back inside and settle into the classroom environment. For now, energy will be released, excercise will take place, and screams will fill the ears of all those participating.

  12. When I was a kid I was always afraid to go down the big slide on the playground. It took me until I was in the third grade to do, while everyone else did it in the first grade. However, I was one of the best people at hanging on the monkey bars, I don’t know why, but I was.

  13. When I was a kid, there was this girl that I liked. I wanted to give her a kiss, but she wouldn’t let me so I lifted up her shirt and bit her belly button. It turned purple and got infected. I got in HUGE trouble.

We ran into each other years later and that was all we had to talk about. Needless to say, I haven’t seen her since. I’m okay with that.

  14. The playground is a place where you meet friends. These kids take you through your schooling, and some you love while some you hate.
Most disappear when you go off to college, but some stay faithfully by your side.
You meet them there for play, but sometimes it develops into something more.

….my heart is not a playground; why am I getting played so much?

  15. This word makes me think of the Madonna song from the movie “A League of Their Own.” This used to be my playground, this used to be my dream. This used to be the place I ran to whenever I was in need of a friend. She really isn’t that great a songwriter…

  16. His children would ask to go to the park, and he would always agree to take them. He would sit on the bench and watch in the hopes that he would learn, again, to be happy with little more than nothing- just some sand, a few metal bars, and the people closest to him.

  17. i think of children and how much i miss being in elementary school. everyone was so carefree and i was always scared of the monkey bars. we use to swing all the time and get in trouble for jumping off them. one kid hurt himself by doing that. which makes me think of tumblr and someone jumping off into a trashcan. i miss it in general i guess.

  18. When I was a child I played on the playground… I was shy and sometimes I didn’t get along well with the other children. I was hoping to find somewhere to fit in; sometimes I feel like i’ve found that place, but I don’t always know for sure. I am seeking the truth in this world full of lies. It has been forgotten.
When will we decide to take a stand?

  19. The playground is a fun place for children. Many children spen their days growing up and playing with friends at the playground. Many teens and young adults frequent the playgrounds to relax and hang out. Adults take thier kids to the playgrounds so they can play, and older couples like to enjoy the day out at the playground and feed some pigeons.

  21. The playground was magical to me as a kid. It was were adventures and stories and the unknown could happen. Now that I am older, I watch the video game generation on the playground. They all look so bored. It is sad that the playground has lost some of it’s magic. The TVs must come off and playgrounds must come back.

  28. Ah, so many memories. The bullies, the gossiping, the spying. Children getting their head stuck in the fence or underneath the fort. I would like to talk to that fort. It has better memory than I do.

  29. In the playground the children joyfully swang on the swings, they slid down the slide and they spun on the roundabout. They hung from the monkey bars and ran around laughing and playing without a care in the world, at least not a care beyond grazing their knees. They skipped and danced each day, unaware of the future that beheld them.

  33. Children playing, formless making forms. There’s never been a better time to take a risk and spin faster on the merry-go-round. The sand beneath the swings holds scuff-marks from scrapes and falls, and also holds the promise of future joy and release into the air.
