  1. LABOR IS A DEPRESSING WORD.

it makes me think of mothers screaming till their wits end as they push a sqeuling infant out their uterus. a graphic thought, yes, but labor mean work, a it’s a lot of work to give birth, i’d say.

    i wouldn’t know. i’m never having children.

  2. it was love’s labour’s lost. in one go. step up to the plate and get it going, take the pass and just run with it. she grasped the prop and stood there babbling about nothing in particular. then she looked around and realised everyone was smiling. they were clapping. she had no clue what she said but she was happy she had taken the chance and done it.

  3. labor.
the fruit of our labors, the labor we work at, day by day.

labor isn’t about finishing. am i supposed to be learning something from this endless amont of work? or should i simply be doing, rather than thinking about it?

    Pointless, really.

  5. I remember learning about the labor movement in APUSH
Unions are great unless you are forced out of your job because a union says that your position must be cut before ANY salaried workers. That’s what happened to my mom

Unions are for factories not social workers.

  8. labor is hard. understatement. we all labor, even if we don’t have a job. labor is but action that causes us pain-in time, in thought, in emotion, in body. we labor not by choice, yet sometimes we choose the pain of labor because life is better with it than without.

  11. Working, back bent over, sweat pouring down his facer. He’s not attractive or handsome; in fact he’s rather pudgy, balding on the top, bright red from the effort. But still he is working, putting some positive output into the world. Without this unattractive, coarse man, we wouldn’t have what we have today. The laborers built the foundation of the world we live in today.

  13. Labor can be a very demanding job. It enforces a person to have strength and endurance. Particularly you will find labor duties within the Contruction Industry. From too much strenous labor, some individuals will have physical injuries.

  17. he worked hard every day. Each day the same grind, the same people, the same sights. never before had anyone changed what life had mapped out but he was going to. Labor every day was hard, too hard, not for him. He would change….

  18. Laborant. Latin 1 exam, I took it today. The big gum with about 20 tables set up. Number 2 pencils only, please. You will have 40 minutes to complete this, we will be walking around, so no wandering eyes!

  19. It was a labour of love, this new venture. I had never worked so hard for anything in my life, so I suppose it only made sense that I ended up feeling more bitterly disappointed with the outcome than I ever would have thought possible.

  20. Labor; a man’s labor is hard work of course. A woman’s labor is childbirth. A child’s labor is the sweetest of all; it is to live and love life.

  21. He uses his right hand to shovel the dirt out of the hole, his left to wipe his beading sweat. For twenty years he has been at this work, endlessly, endlessly, one day he will get out of it, he told himself. He will use his powers and his soul and his love for others to get himself out of the hole he was in. But it would be for himself, not others.

  22. She was so tired. Forced to tire and strain over those damn shoes day after day. Once, there was a fire in the factory. All the girls were locked in. They are died – no survivors to tell how frightening it was, stuck in that burning room. No one to tell how the girls slow danced, how that was where the song came from. No one to tell a soul.

  23. hard days work and sweat is trailing down the back of his neck in large cold rivulets of condensation, blown gently against in the trailing wind.

  24. Would you work hard to never wear white after Labour day? It’s like a curse, I think.

Are you working, are you labouring? I’m not. Sitting here, second semester senior, waiting for time to pass by. I’m ready to be outta here, ready to hit the pavement running.

I’m ready to go, ready to let time pass me by. It’s all over my face, recording the emotions of labor so very lost. Run with me.

  25. When i look at the word labor, i think of the endless amount of labor that people have to go through every single day in order to provide for their family. a whole day of work for one meal, one meal. just one meal.

    by twurp on 03.11.2010
  26. it was hard that day. the labor that we had to do was so strenuous and no one knew if everything was going to be OK or not. We didn’t know if we were going to even get paid that day. Better yet, if we were going to sleep or get fed or even a small break. Sometimes i just wish that things would be different and that we didn’t have to be the laborers for this place…

  27. I wonder if this is about the Labour party, of course then the u would not be ommitted, so this is clearly an American word. I find myself disapproving of the lack u, but at the same time I cannot blame the Americans for dropping a redundant letter from a word. Or rather, from many words. However, I will continue to complain about them as it led to much confusion during my childhood about which spelling I should since both were acceptable in my school.

  28. labor of love, the labor of loving one another. there exists no greater burden on the shoulders of every man and woman. It is a duty, a pain, a passion, and the goal of an entire lifetime. if love be a labor, life be love.
