I am sitting here in my little office underneath these fluorescent lights…my head hurts. I wish I was outside, playing in the yard.
Oh instead I am here, slaving away ‘neath these fake lights.

shines down on us without our choosing. the neon glow of this world invades our soul, permeates our thoughts, flickers in our marrow. the headache of being.
By zuzoo on 05.02.2011
Bight colored paper is fluorescent
But most notably are the lights over head that kind of flicker a bit. I hate it when they buzz or go on and off on their own. I’m trying to work and it’s do distracting
By rachel on 05.02.2011
florescent colors are really cool. If every thing was florescent life would be easier for some reason. Ponder that thought

I just watched Tron. I want one of those outfits. They’re walking around with fluorescent lights in their clothes. Too cool.
As for being creative with this word…I’ll just say this: Every woman I’ve ever been in love with or sought with my heart… has looked JUST FINE under fluorescent lighting.

what does fluorescent mean? Is it when something is colorful? Or am I crazy?

There was a light bulb that was very fluorescent. In fact it was so fluorescent that the light blinded a person. Then he accidentally walked off a bridge. The End.

“Lights” is playing as we walk through the door. The fluorescent nature boggles my mind. I am going to stand out today. But think twice for if I know better I will see beyond this nature.

THe fluorescent light flickered on and off. She was wary of the people she saw around her in the alley, but she knew that this was the only way she would have any sort of income this month. “How much do you charge?” asked one man, with gruff and leathery skin. “As much as you’ll pay me,” she replied. She may have seemed confident on the outside, but she was anything but. Her shaking hands could attest to that.

My eyes can’t adjust to lights, let alone the ones in my dads office. They are so bright and remind me of the future. The future with her. With the helpless of my now present life. The heart break and how badly I wanted a mom. To be a mom. But not like her.
By Chevelle URL on 05.02.2011
The light above me was a very florescent color of orange. I felt like I was in the waiting room to become an oompa loompa. But no, that was not where I was. I couldn’t believe out of all things my mind could have gone to at this place, I thought of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
By Kaitlyn URL on 05.02.2011
i hate it for painting – far too garish and in your face and I hate it for lights as well – what is there to like?
By Lucy Care URL on 05.02.2011
The fluorescent light glared harshly overhead. Kim held her head in her hands, staring down at her nearly blank paper with frustration. This math class was slowly killing her, and now, at the final exam, it was going in for the kill, a slow strangulation ended by a violent death. Something to look forward to.

Fluorescent is yesterday’s word. I believe I’ve already seen it. At any rate, I’ve replaced all the fluorescent bulbs with incandescent ones, so now my head doesn’t hurt with the lights on. I can focus better. Also, the weather is cloudy, which is better lighting for working. It’s less distracting.
By Adva URL on 05.02.2011
My dreams of you, fluorescent. Even though you awake far away in somebody’s else’s bed, grey clouds over your roof and heart. You shine behind the darkness of my closed eyes, a fluorescent love.

Light bulbs that burn my eyes. Flashing neon colors. Sitting in hospitals, dentist offices, lobbies. My dorm room, for crying out loud. When the light goes off, the glow of the light lingers in the darkness. Sitting there, fading away.
By Kelsey on 05.02.2011
really really bright lights that usually light up classrooms. Yellowy. Bright colors. Shining. Buzzing, and energy saving. I don’t prefer this type of lighting, but it’s practical.
By Glenda on 05.02.2011

Walk down these halls and walk down your body, forgetting that it is your own. Travel down and down and to the floor, collapsing in upon yourself and your emotions. This sinking feeling this inward spiral finds salvation only in the outside light; sunshine.

fluorescent is light. it is bright. it helps us to see when there is no sun. it has increased in popularity over the last several years.

Ahh….. Beautiful, bright, glowing.
The product of artificial luminescence; the pure energy of created beauty.
A symbolism of faking it, and still making it work.

It reminds me of art galleries or college classrooms. Fluorescent lightbulbs strung crudely to lamp shades. Christmas bulbs. Things that aren’t really connected but that somehow come together to make light. It also reminds me of flowers.
By EllieG on 05.02.2011

As the fluorescent lights flickered on over the empty classroom, a single tear fell down the professor’s face. “This is it,” he said slowly and solelmnly.
