  1. The man sat with his top hat in hand. It was raining and it didn’t matter. She had left him there, alone, and nothing would ever be the same. The carriages rolled by through the puddles, no one saw him. It seemed he would never be seen again because her eyes were forever away.

  2. She was wearing neon colored leg warmers and cowboy boots, with a super high pony tail tied up in a flower elastic headband. She was wearing a long owl necklace with a bright yellow clock face where the tummy was supposed to be, and a electric blue vest over an orange long sleeve sweater. She had some dirt smudged on her face and candy pink lips that were always curled into a smile. I fell in love with her instantly.

  3. he twitched his mustache into place and screwed in his monocle a little tighter, and pressed his bowler hat onto his firmly coiffed graying hair. he was proud of his attire; after all, what a perfect english gentleman he was, always so neat and distinguished. simultaneously sipping his coffee, twirling his cane, and unfolding his newspaper, he smiled a wry smile to himself.

    “The usual.”
She could not look away from his polished tailcoat, his immaculate boots despite the storm. As she stared, he slowly turned around and caught her eye.

  9. Distinguished as he may be in his field of expertise, when he entered that room only to be greeted by her face from the other end of the hall, all the glory and fame he collected in his life went out the window. He was just another bloke, abashed out of his wits in front of the girl he wanted so desperately to marry.

  10. He had silver hair growing at his temples, a gray suit, and a diamond stud. His rich dark skin contrasted with the diamond to give a chic and professional look. He looked him straight in the eye and said, “Alright, then.”

  11. Distinguished as he may be in his field of expertise, when he entered that ballroom only to be greeted by her face from the other end of the hall, all the glory and fame he collected in his life went out the window. He was just another bloke, shy out of his wits in front of the girl he wanted so desperately to marry.

  14. He was quite the distinguished gentlemen, if I could say so myself. I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s the silver flecks in his dark dark hair, perhaps it’s the dignified manner in which he wears his suits. I couldn’t help but to be drawn to him. I’m sure he pays no special attention to me.

  15. I wrote about this word last night. That makes both last night’s post and today’s post less distinguished. I hate making things less distinguished. I also hate writing about the same thing twice.

thinking of how distinguished that man looked
the white hair around hid temples
    the wrinkles around his eyes…
would she learn as she grew old or would she just wither away
would life teach her to be or teach her not to be
should she wait to get old
or should she hope she does not get old at all..
should she hope for a long life or should she hope for none at all?

  22. There’s a lilt in her voice when she talks. She’s no plain-Jane-wallflower-pretty-on-the-inside-girl. She’s set apart and distinct and distinguished – the sole reason I pulled her up onstage from the roaring crowd or like-faced teenagers in eyeliner and skinny jeans. And that’s when I knew we had our lead singer.

  26. The blood in their veins was red with the filth they had done. Arms were bruised by the chaos they walked through, trying to silence the voices that screamed in their minds of the violence endured by the dead. Together they stood facing the wreck of what now was. They didn’t know where to turn, and the possibility of an underestimated loss shook them. But as they stood, facing the burnt world through their burnt faces, they felt distinguished. They had survived. Lived. Won.

  32. What distinguishes us from the animal kingdom?
Is it our compassion for others – no that can be found in abundance.
Is it our greater intelligence – I don’t think so, how intelligent is it to rape our world without thought for the consequences other than a token gesture.
It is our greed, that is what distinguishes us, and that is what will be our downfall.

  33. Distinguished, a word for an old man’s grey hair.

  34. That title that we all look for. The one that places us on the podium, that sets us apart from our peers. How we spend our lives looking for it, never realizing that merely showing up, being, living already makes us distinguished.

I felt kind of out of place here, glancing around nervously for someone I recognized.
