  1. I felt hungry today. I didn’t want salty. I wanted to get high on sugar. So that’s exactly what I did; I got high on sugar! I’ll do the same tomorrow no doubt.

  2. Sarah licked her fingers quietly, staring across the table at Kyle, who took another bite of their slice of chocolate cake.
“This was nice,” commented Kyle, meeting her eyes. “We should do it again.”
Sarah blushed. She stared down at their dessert before looking up at their face.
“Okay,” she replied. “I’d like that.”

  3. I love desserts! cupcakedayze.com is my run-from-home cupcake business. Stressed spelled backwards is dessert, coincidence? :) The fun thing to do is eat your meal backwards and start with dessert, then dinner, then appetizer.

  7. I’m not big on dessert. I prefer salty snacks. But chocolate is usually a pretty sure bet. Chocolate-covered salty stuff is an even surer bet. And a sweet liqueur is the best way to appease my sweet tooth.

  8. Where the hell is the dessert? The cupboard was empty and time had run out. This could be the end of the relationship. Unless! When did biscuits and cheese go out of fashion? Perhaps I could start a new trend, biscuits and cheese and jam.

  11. Terezi grinned and grabbed Dave by the shoulders. He stared down at her shark like teeth and glanced in the opposite direction. “So Dave,” Terezi laughed, “Do you like cherries?” The troll dropped the bag, dropping the small red fruits over their feet. Dave couldn’t quite define the others expression through her glasses, and faked a grin. “They’re cool.”

  12. Terezi grinned and grabbed Dave by the shoulders. He stared down at her shark like teeth and glanced in the opposite direction. “So Dave,” Terezi laughed, “Do you like cherries?” The troll dropped the bag, spilling the small red fruits over their feet. Dave couldn’t quite define the others expression through her glasses, and faked a smirk. In the corner of the room the record player continued to screech the same beat over and over. “They’re cool.” He said.

  13. Funny you should ask that, I was just invited downstairs for desserts with my parents. I declined. But suddenly an urgent craving for a gloriously warm chocolate cupcake has stunted me and I may go no further! Please! Grant me with just one deliciously scrumptious little morsel of cake baked with chocolate! And I beg of you, for heavens sake douse it in chocolate!

  17. Dessert. Not to be confused with desert. In that splendid moment when all people have finished the main course, when the waiter arrives and asks, who would like dessert? We all always want dessert.

    By Aaron Vidovich on 12.27.2011

  18. For dessert, we ate a chocolate pie, loaded with homemade whipped cream. We drank warm milk that frothed up around our lips and then kissed each other’s milk mustaches. We snuggled. We cuddled. We shrieked and we giggled. We were children again, even when in our forties and fifties.

Howard fell asleep that night and didn’t wake up the next morning. But when I saw him sprawled on the couch, he had the smile of a schoolboy. And despite my tears, I couldn’t help smiling, too.

  24. I have been blessed with several fine English teachers. This word reminds me of one of them. Mrs. Huber noticed that several of us confused the spelling of “desert” and “dessert”. So she told us to remember that the desert has one sun shining and one “s” and dessert has two ss’s”. And I have never confused the spelling of those two words again.

  29. To feel the sickly sweetness of the dessert stifle my mouth was grotesque. I couldn’t stop eating, and with the sweetness came the salt tears. I stuffed my mouth, my brain, my nostrils, my eyes until my jaws collapsed and I vomited.

  30. Dessert is not like desert at all. One is dry and awful, another is tasty and probably causes cavities. So why is it hard to tell the two apart? Maybe if the s could mind its own business instead of confusing me, I would know.

From cookies to cakes to pies to those little chocolate things everyone avoids because they look like dog shit…dessert is delicious and deserves to be eaten by everyone ever. Yep. And that’s all I gotta say about breakfast.

  36. they are the same, lively as ever.
sparks flying, laughter ringing. hell, you could probably hear the birds chirping if you tried.
but the other one is in the background, peering in
    not glaring,

only in her mind…. and in others’: just bearing
    the dry, empty, lonely land

and yet she holds a poker hand

  40. It was thick, creamy, and way too rich for her taste. Chocolate cake like this was difficult to come by, though. Slowly she wrapped her fingers around the fork, poked a chunk of cake, and placed it in her mouth. She chewed laboriously, savoring the taste even though she felt like she was ready to explode.
