The slap stung my cheek. I bit my lip, tried to hold in my tears as I ashamedly looked away from mother. There was a lump in my throat that wouldn’t go away.. “I’m sorry, Mother. I—”
“Silence,” She hissed. “The next time you defy orders, you’ll feel a lot more pain than you are right now.”
I defy all logic. I have these powers that shouldn’t exist. It scares me. Why do I have these powers? What do I do with them? This is what I want to know.
I feel like I’ve been defying a lot of things over the last few years, with my sobriety, with my sexual identity, and my relationships. I’m very happy where I’ve gotten to at this point.
I’m told to defy it all. I’m told to defy them. Their inability to love. I am told to defy the world and make one that is better. Defy the reasoning of life, and create one worth abiding to. To spread it. Often and openly. Fill others with the thrill of creating something amazing. Defy this horrid stereotypical idea between world and worldly. Change the idea that what we have is what will ever be. Do more and defy this.
