I once saw a vulture when I was traveling with my family. It was sitting in a tree.

vultures are really weird birds. they are big and i think they skwak. the thing that comes to my mind when i think of vulture is the john mayor song and this photograph that was taken in africa of a bird that looked like a vulture about to eat this starving little boy. i also think of vultures as a metaphor for people who surrond my life and just judge it. i don’t know, the more i write about vultures, the more i like the concept of it all. if i had a pet vulture, i would name it fred. i don’t even like that name, it’s just the first that came to mind.

Lovers. My girlfriend, when she touches me. Her eyes, when she looks at me. Her face, when she smiles. The sound of her voice when she says “I love you”.

Makes people think of themselves. What we want couldn’t possibly compare to what others need right now, maybe even right here. I want, they need.

Many years ago I hid the key to my lock box somewhere in the house. I found the key, but now I don’t know where the lock box is. I’m pretty sure there is some valuable stuff in there. I loved that box.

a baseball or basketball. Sports incorporate many sorts of different balls throughout the various games, each one having a separate role. Most commonly, they are thrown, hit, kicked or caught.

Spot was my dog’s name. I ended up hating it because it was so unoriginal. The dog was cool, but I felt bad for giving him such a crappy name. Octavious would have been a much better one. But hindsight is 20/20, y’know? Or maybe it’s houndsight.

Sometimes wish I came from a culture that had more flavor. Being white is just so bland, I wish I could spice it up.

it was an old old coat with dark wrinkly leather. smelled like rain and dust and cinnamon. this coat it had a dry dry dasy in one pocket with skeleton leaves.

I’m not sure about this word. The only thing that’s good about it is that it rhymes with “goat”. I don’t think I’ll be using “goat” in any poetry in the future, so I don’t have any particular inclination to use this word.

A coat as an object is pretty useful though. Wouldn’t want to die from frostbite.

i dont know what to say about birdhouses except that i always get mad at the squirells for stealing the seed out. the little fatties dont need it. but thats kind of mean. so i always let them go on anyway. indeed.

What is a crime?

» Posted By MADDIE On 09.30.2009 @ 8:22 pm

Dear Journal,
Bobby commited a crime. What is this crime? Truth be told, I don’t know. Kam was telling me during recess today. I’m not supposed to tell anyone, perhaps that’s why I’m writing in this Journal. So I can get it off my chest.

sugar is a sweet substance used to bake with. it derives from sugar cane, which was primarily grown in the south of the united states and the west indies. you can use sugar to make lots of really delicious baked goods such as cookies, breads, and pies.

» Posted By Maddie On 11.15.2009 @ 4:48 pm

makes me upset that I am so vulnerable to it. I wish that I could not want sugar at any time for the rest of my life. I do not drink it in my coffee any more, and that is a fete of great proprotions,

my headband slipped forward as I ran. dang! I never had liked headbands. My mom insisted that I wear them, though. And, being nine, I couldn’t very well say no. So, here itwas, getting in my way.

i am certaqin this will work. it has to. what will I do if it dosen’t? No, don’t think negative thoughts. It will certainly work. Yeah, certainly work. After all, it’s a good plan. A very good plan.

i walked down the shadowy lane, staring at the shadows. my imagination raced with what could be hidden in those shadows, but I pushed the thoughts away. I took another cautious step forward.
