She was engulfed in a sea of black robes as a chorus rang out and hundreds of caps flew into the air. As she threw hers, she could feel her hopes and dreams lifting like a cloud, ready to be pursued into the sunny afternoon.

She flees from the room, her emerald eyes ablaze with terror. Her deep red cloak whips out of sight around the corner, a second before the great beast follows.

Exchange can mean many things. We exchange ideas, money… germs. Exchange is something where we have to deal with others, not just ourselves. It’s important to work together and exchanging things can be a good thing.

When I think about feature, I think of feature films. The kind you see at the movie theater. They tend to be blockbusters and have lots of action in them. Could also be comic book movies, like the Avengers.

He was being held accountable for something he didn’t do. That wasn’t fair! The evidence didn’t point to him. It was all down to institutional racism. After so many years of progress, it had all come down to this. How?

To not stop, just go and don’t think. Don’t let fear hold you back. You have to make a choice to continue and a choice not to stop. Its about finishing what you start and about how you approach fear, because at the heart of it fear is the thing holding all of us back. How you overcome is what defines you.

“Did you make reservations?” I called from the kitchen.
“Reservations, David. Did you make reservations.”
I heard him swear under his breath and turn the TV off.

Competition is hardwired into my brain, like all human. However, I can’t win anything. I just can’t put the effort and don’t have the natural talent to pull it off. So instead I’m just gonna sleep in this dumpster.

In the sky, there were no stars left. Only things that we could tell about stars were written in old mathematical formulas, and no one can decipher them these days.

Formulas are math stuff. I don’t understand them, really. I don’t know how to write, oh god what is this. Just for a poem or another sad off-key song to sing //

i have always wanted to watch movies with someone who really wants to be with me, just like the movies, i know, that sounds a little bit wierd, but having those perfect endings with your prince charming at the end of the day under the sheets sounds like awesome!

I took out my pen and opened the case which held all my stencils. There was a woman shape and a man shape and several children shapes. The woman blew out into a triangle. Why was she stuck in a dress?

Winning isn’t everyting, it really matters how you play, and how you practice. If you want great things to happen put in the work. If you expect to win everything, more than likely you won’t put in the work needed to win. Champions are those who don’t give up.

He had decided to open a franchise.
And then he had decided to close it.
Was there anything worth doing anymore? Jake slumped down in his chair, temporarily soaked in the moment of defeat.
Deep breaths. This time he wasn’t going to let it win.
It was his golden year, after all. Wasn’t it? 25 on 25. A quarter of a century and nothing to show for it.
If only he knew how much that would change.

Lightweight. What a dumb word. So light like a feather. Or like I cannot handle my alcohol. Light like space, air.

I stand frozen, staring into flat black, but feeling every pair of eyes upon me. Like tiny pin-pricks, an amature audience accupuncture.

I stood there, transfixed by the fact that I could only see darkness. Still, I felt every pair of eyes like pin-pricks in my skin, accupuncture by strangers.

the most common day for offerings was wednesday. The upside down State Library was festooned with flowers, red for life, white for death. some Wednesdays were worse than others. the days after a Trade, trams could barely move for the offerings sent to appease whatever higher power was watching – or what ever lower power was listening.

I do not feel integrated.
Stories from yesterday do not include me. Stories from a 3am drunken haze do not include me.
I think I’m lost– some free floating freeloader in your general area, trying and failing to attach to something. Let me know if I’m wrong.

I had looked at the globe my whole life. It sat at my parent’s bar, glowering down at me, just proving that the world revolved around alcohol.
It was a beautiful, truthful globe. It was black with golden and flourescent countries.

She watched him, through a crowd of people, she watched as blueish light slid off the side of his face. And she watched as the girl he was dancing with stole that light away, as she gently placed her lips at the nape of his neck. There was nothing then. The booming music of the club, the sweaty bodies pushing up against her, they all faded away. She turned and walked out of the pulsating room, whether it was her temples or the speakers, it was as though she was a grenade with the pin removed. She clutched at her heart, worried that she’d splatter to bits if she let go.

He sat rigid in his crisp white coat, unsmiling, and I watched as a tiny bead of sweat bloomed from his forehead. He looked at his charts, then up at me through his glasses. I swished my bare legs against the wax paper and awkwardly felt my nipples harden, why they kept these rooms so cold but only gave us paper gowns to wear, I had never understood. Then he let out a brief sigh that pickeled my insides.
“It’s back, Caroline.”

Headbands can be absolutely beautiful things, providing interesting detail to woman’s heads. I particularly love headbands from Lord of the Rings as they are stunning and elvin
They hurt my head though.

“What?” Dominic glanced over at Keith. “What did you say, there?”
“Oh.” Keith hadn’t thought Dominic had heard him. “I just – well, I – ” Dominic’s eyes were narrowed.
“I just – think it’s good. That you aren’t prejudiced.”

I love visiting my grandma on sunday afternoons. she bakes sweet banana bread with chocolate chips in it. it always reminds me of when i was a kid and we would go down to church together and sing songs with the pastor and the people of the town. now she is getting old though and it is sad to think that someday she will be gone and not around to make more bread.

I’m sorry. What does that mean? What does the words I’m sorry mean? I’m apologizing for how I feel? I’m apologizing for upsetting you even though it’s upsetting me to be in this position right now? Is this morally right? To be sorry? Was I ever sorry at all?

The song by spoon. Someone underrepresented, under appreciated. Someone who will rise up, and take everyone on top by surprise.
I always root for the underdog at sports games. It’s much more fun – an underdog gives a sense of hope, and community. Aren’t we all the underdog? We all have been at some point. So we bond through it.

She rose with dignity. The puppies tumbled around her, pushing each other aside and scrambling for footing. Their mother picked her way through the mass of soft puppy fur, sniffing each one, nudging them. She cared for each puppy with tenderness and concern, somehow managing an entire litter with grace.
