stamps

Stamps are the second thing that I check on a envelope after to see if it is addressed to me. My first is getting mail from other countries and looking at the stamps. There used to be a shop in my neighbourhood which had a large stamp collection.

amazed

great golly gahoolyian, he said, amazed at his own prolix phrasing.
i but have never seen nought like it! feathers, fur, wings and legs – what was it? it looked like a pastiche of cut outs from a kids book

nail

hello, i am in a sticky situation
or rather, a set, stuck
TACKED INTO PLACE
clunkety trapped position!
jesus please, i didn’t think we’d suffer the same fate.
[oh, but you were so noble,
and i am a shameful, filthy imbecile,
unworthy to worship.]

flakes

if there’s one place where one word is at one with the world it is here, but don’t take one too seriously because it’s only one and one needs another one to make two… so one is not such a great number when one is feeling sad and lonely. One word for one is onersome.

I sat down for breakfast and cast a glance across the table. As per usual, the only thing my mother had set out were the cornflakes. No matter how many times I said it, she never seemed to grasp the idea that I couldn’t stand cornflakes. I pushed away from the table and walked over to the fridge to see if there was anything else besides those godforsaken cornflakes in this house.

elixir

The cool wind danced around her ears. It felt like an elixir, like a cure for all her troubles. The rain hadn’t started yet but she could feel and smell that it would. She grinned and stepped out of the house. For the first time in years she felt the strain of her muscles as she ran down the street, laughing.

whiskers

when i pull back,
my hair snags on your snaggles,
whiskers scritching down your cheeks and chin
and i wish the same
because i don’t want to leave either.

costume

i play dressup:
let’s paint on a face!
a mood, a desire, a motive,
hide in sheep’s skin, in my skin,
under my skin, there’s secrets and tears and fears,
but we’re not talking about that.
i’m in your clothes and you’re in mine
[it’s not dirty, it’s not shameful,
but i’m scared.]
so let’s put on a smile and keep going
because i adore this agony.

pouch

the pocket of my stomach
[so marsupial of you! and how lovely and darling!]
flickers and filters feelings and filth,
but isn’t it just
fit and fancy and flat,
fitted to your taste?
sorry dears, it’s zipped and locked
and how clever of me,
i’ve swallowed the key.

seconds

I think about seconds. How those mere seconds can had up to so much time. What can you do in a second. Blink? Rub your nose. There are lots of things that you can do.

not that many people have it but everyone wants it, it makes you cocky, gluttony, purple, something i strive for, i would hope that everyone would do well with their weslth and make it a point to help others. they should donate it or sponser something, scholarships would be nice too.

Grid = greed? strict, straight lines. Too rigid. Lines should never be straight. Life would be boring then.

scarf

autumn – classy dresser. Green, brown.

» Posted By Helen On 07.18.2008 @ 11:14 am

a scarf can be a fashion statement or a great comfort in the cold of winter. There is nothing cozier that snuggling a scarf around your collar and braving the winter elements. Scarves can be worn around one’s waist as a belt.

» Posted By Helen On 07.17.2008 @ 12:32 pm

A scarf can be worn as a fashion accessory or as a religious ornament. Regardless, it is in the fashion world. I have seen many styles for practical and impractical use. Colors and textures/materials range from one end of the spectrum to the other. It can be made of scratchy wool or even the softest angora.

twig

Some words you just can’t take seriously. Either they sound like something that would follow the phrase eschew obfuscation, or they’re too kiddy to even consider. Twig is one of the latter.

comma

The comma is a funny little insect. People often mistakenly think it’s not an insect, but something to do with punctuation. Oh how wrong there are. It works for the comma being thought of as this – it means he has no enemies!
