One I start, I’ll never stop. That seems to be the general mindset of everyone in this daily hustle and bustle. There’s little consideration for the unsmelled rose, the unkissed bruise, or the forgotten sob in the corner. All of that is amended by a comma.

Susan had to check if her passprt was there. She knew it was. She’d already checked it five times, but she couldn’t help it. It was like a burning something to check again. She put her hand down to check it was there. It wasn’t. Where was it?

Checks and balances. Where have they gotten us? Proposed by Madison and imbued with Montesquieu’s principles, checks and balances have evolved beyond imagination in today’s political environment. There was that Federalist contention of the elastic clause, which has so much strengthened our central government… Was it for good or for worse?

He was too early, he knew that. Should he knock now or drive round the block again? He risked getting lost if he did – but risked looking too eager if he didn’t. Maybe he could just sit in the car outside for 5 or 10 minutes. Unless people saw him and thought he was a weirdo.

“Early?” she snorted incredulously. “I don’t recall thirty minutes being ever considered EARLY in this household.”
Mother’s eyes were fairly popping out of her head, and she hadn’t even begun riding upon her tirade.
“Do you know how badly this will reflect on us? No, did you even pause to consider? No, I don’t think you have, or else you wouldn’t have come home that late! Better for you to have died on the streets.”

He couldn’t believe that he could see Mercury with his bare eyes. The universe was definately closing in on the earth. It wouldn’t be long until it crashed. Unless they could stop it.

Wow, seriously? This word couldn’t have been more opportune. Mercury. Mercurial. Fleeting. Ephemeral. Far away and out of touch – and therefore desired.
Besides that, Mercury is actually the nickname I bestowed upon my boyfriend (x He’s an astronomy dilettante and he’s been showing me the wonders of the heavens…

Funnily enough, you’ve been my biggest distraction ever. I’d be reading my favorite childhood novel (you know, the one I’d talked to you about in my ‘dreamy’ voice?) and all of a sudden, I’d reach the poignant parts. Instead of the characters themselves having their hearts torn out and trampled upon, I put you and I in their place. I think I know why it’s my favorite bildungsroman.

Sometimes feelings aren’t meant to be resisted. You just have to capitulate. Whether it’s that ring at two in the morning or the coaxing smile in the hall, you know it’s futile. Life’s only lived once, and you can’t spend all your time rebelling against the mechanics of the universe.
I’m done with my facade. I can’t resist you.

I lost my train ticket the other day. I know that I can do nothing about it but it still annoys me. I was sure I put it in my back pocket but it just vanished. AND there was the time I lost my signed Bullet for my Valentine ticket. Gutted.

The gorilla’s habitat was at risk from the evil tree demolishers. Every day they would cut a few trees closer to Barney’s home. Every day he knew it was only a matter of time until they got to him. He knew he had to stop them.

A moment in time. you have stopped, unknowingly.
You don’t take the time to stop and unwind anymore. it has caught up with you. You are being forced to pause.

‘install’ reminds me of computers and my computer being a dick usually means that everything i try and install, won’t install. Generally it just reminds me of all things technological. Like vcrs, and new tvs and new games consoles.

jack and jill. hill like white elephants. we read that my sophomore year of high school. abortion, that makes me really uncomfortable which is weird cause i am not at all religious and usually really liberal. It also seems weird that my boyfriend, who is much more religious, is much more comfortable

I’d like to ask.
are you happy? or just accepting?
is this something you always wanted?
are you where you wanted to be?
have you lost something?
have you found “the one”? do you want to?
do you feel alone?
do you think your friends trust you like you trust them?
would you like whipped cream on that, sir, or a glass of water perhaps?
I’d like to ask, are all questions so intruding?

It takes a village…right? Well, why then, in todays world do we not even have family anymore? Why has something that was once so sacred become a burden, an excuse, and a bad assicoation? I am so confused. And angry. Why are children not cherished like little balls of fire on a very cold night?

i proud of my family for coping with all that has been thrown at us in the past and how far we have come in the last 5 years since dad passed.

I always wanted wildflowers in my wedding boquet. I did get imitation wildflower because the real thing was way too much money. no one could tell though. i think with my alergies, i would have sneezed through the ceremony if i had the real thing.

a tug on the sleeve
a word whispered in an ear.
one smile or twich of the eye.
our secret movements have it all
as we delay the boarder guards
with a slight suggestion
as to what they might be fighting against.

Delay is when I feel like something should have happened but it doesn’t. It doesn’t mean that it won’t happen but it does bring some disappointment because there is a part of you that feels like it should have happened. I wish that there were some things that I could delay.

my main memory of a harbour was on a sailing holiday a couiple of years ago
and me and thie girl sat talking about everything,
she was a year younger and we were so similar we could have been sisters.
we sat with our toes brushing agains tthe dark tar in the sea and comtemplated the emtpyness of sea and sky and the purity of the uncommital, unchained boats that could go whereever.
we were so similar it was odd, especially as it was the firs tnight i talked to her and she revealed she was anorexic. i nearly cried in that harbour…
