lightning

There was a terrifying crack. I looked up. I never felt so alone and so at peace with the rest of the world. I knew I was in a dangerous place and I could be struck down from the place I stood. But I felt that giant crack came from my own mind. My mind ripped open and the scorched earth was the result.

violet

There was a sad look in her eyes, but not particularly unhappy; no, she had grown used to her lot in life, a lot of misfortune, and she dealt with it gracefully, taking every setback with firmness of heart and calmness of mind.

There was a time when the flower was just a simple, thing. Now I look at it and it is so vibrant, so terrifyingly alive. Before yesterday, I wasn’t scared of the grass or the petals or the spirit. It was just a flower that I could hold in my hand, crush between my fingers. Just a flower….

The meadow had a soft breeze. Kelsey wavered, not quite sure what to do. She had so many expectations pressing down upon her. What if they didn’t accept her? What of the past happened all over. She lay down in the grass, brought her nose to the dirt and sighed.

violent

violent again? again again? it’s the nature of the thing. violence begets violence. the beaten down sometimes seek another situation in which they are battered. unfortunately. break the cycle, blah blah. the violent are the ones who need to break it. maybe they will, by-and-by.

trophy

I remember when I won my first trophy. I was just a little girl in a gymnastics meet. It wasn’t easy it took a lot of hard work. Gymnastics was everything for me for a while. I trained hard every day. I never had a lot of free time. My life was practice, school and homework. I don’t regret it at all. I would do it all over again.

sticks

Sticks are for building bonfires and roasting marshmallows over the fire. They are great to play with for dogs.

cigarette

smoke drifting lazily from her lips, wisps of white and air as she exhales, blows smoke, nicotine-tar gas. it mingles with the air, the air of storm, the oddly fresh scent of cement wet with rain, and is gone in an instant–and she is as well, stiletto pumps splashing ever-so-slightly in the puddles as the rhythm of water beats against her black umbrella.

bow

The bow on her head reminded me that she was a sweet little puppydog at one time – not the untamed beast that you see today. She would snuggle up to me each night while receving the belly rubs that I was happy to give. Oh how I miss those days!

plague

It was an awful time for the young and for the healthy who might have survived. I was even worse for the ones dying slowly alone or with their family of the infected onlookers. It was black and toxic.

straw

something you drink with. can be bendy or straight. used to be made of paper now with plastic but you can also get glass. different drinks may need different diaeters you can’t use them after getting your wisdom teeth out

» Posted By Danielle On 07.12.2011 @ 8:39 am

i like to drink out of a straw because it helps me drink my drink easier and does not allow me to get sugar on my teeth. straws are also fun to blow wrappers off of at your friends. there are bendy straws and curly straws and plastic straws.

» Posted By Danielle On 07.12.2011 @ 7:41 am

just when you think you are at your last straw, remember that God said he will never bring you to what He can’t put you through. So stay strong keep your head up and remember there is no last straw.

cast

“Ow!”

“Hold still, the more you move, the more likely I’ll be cutting off part of your arm with the plaster.”

“Fine, fine.”

This is completely against every rule his mother has told him. Do what the doctor says–broken. Don’t listen to anything Uncle Marty tells you, he’s a loose cannon–broken.

Don’t mess with the power tools?

Shattered.

stem

i never know what to write but i guess most of the time, mediocre ideas such as cliche ideas that everybody else writes… I guess with writing experience i’ll learn to think outside of the box; what can i say; i’m a left-brain thinker.

wade

Wade in the water. Wade in the water children. Wade… in the water… Wading seems to me like such a peaceful, calming activity. You can’t wade viciously or vigorously. It is something that you do to test the waters, or to supplement your thoughts.

i dont really know what this word means. i used to sing a song in 7th or 8th grade about it though. it was like wadee in the waterrrr. blah blah blah. i always thought about ducks when i sang it in chorus. but i had no clue what the song was really about, kinda depressing. i stil dont even know.. i dont even know what the songs called or even any of the other words of it

lust

do not be lustful of what you do not have. be thankful for what God has put in your life. this that are there are there for a reason and those that are not, are not for a reason. open your eyes to what you have and lust no more. this is only a sin and cause ungratefulness. I need to take my own advice.

morals

I prefer it when there isn’t a moral to the story. It makes more sense that way. I watched a show the other night about how we’re destroying the planet and how we should stop. It was annoying. I also saw an exhibit about the aesthetic movement, who created beauty without allegory. Amazing.

intense

The feeling that you get when you’re so high that you don’t know what’s going on anymore. How you feel when you are in love. The amazing way that you look at someone when you know they have your heart. The glare of one girl to another when you’re jealous.

held

“I’ll hold it for you.”

That was the last thing I said to you, I think. You gave me the little watch like it was a precious treasure instead of a rusted heirloom, too busted up and worn to even sell to a pawn shop, and fled, gathering the folds of your coat to your body as you strode out into a white curtain of rain.

She held the piece, turned it over and smiled. “It’s beautiful!” She said. She thought to herself how this was something her mother would have given her. She wished she was there.
