The old black wooden slats banged against the siding. From that sound, Angie and Mick were hiding. They holed up in the corner of their room in the house just across the street from old Mr. Foreman’s. They knew his old ghost haunted the place.

I already did this word, so I’m bored. This writing is becoming a drag, even as I finish this sentence. Slowly pouring, like milassas it falls (and screw misspellings, I’ve only got sixty seconds). Break the block. Unstop.

With dry and splitting hands, the worker-bee grounds keeper tore out ferns like old and dead hairs from a corpse. His eyes drifted up the hills cascading down from the mansion for moments at a time, until he cursed himself for looking, and returned to his numb work.

Lift. Could there possibly be any word more uplifting than the one lifted up before my eyes. If there is, I’m sure it would lift the soul to the heavens. The last time I was inspired and lifted up as I am now, I had just seen the word BEN.

The word cry in science is a description of a chemical reaction. But the feelings that go along with crying the science can’t tell you but you can tell what the true mean of crying is.

He floated.

It hadn’t been a difficult procedure. The doctor had explained, in quite simple terms he noticed, that they were just going to take all the substance out. That was it. A simple incision/removal.

So he floated, no longer weighed down by anything as unimportant as organs, or a soul.

Looking back, I never could picture Nana anywhere but that old chair. I swear, it seemed to transport itself as if by magic from the porch to the living room and back when I wasn’t looking. I think back and now it’s as much a part of her as her bones or her skin. The rocker was more my grandmother than a person.

He started to plow the field as he always had those past 6 years. After a few hours of hard work, he looks up and sees dark shapes in the sky. It’s the Germans. They made it all the way to his field and are about to destroy it as they have destroyed everything else in his life.

“I feel captured.”
“What do you mean, captured?”
“Like captured! What do you think I mean, you idiot!”
“I’m sorry, sir, I was just trying to be helpful.”
“Really? Helpful? Why don’t you go be helpful in another room.”
“Yes, sir.”

to be kept within for the most of his youth
then to change his mind
a wave, a wind, the tide
he told the world what he knew of himself
to be loved, to love, without doubt

I was just thinking about tea the other day. There are so many drinks here in Thailand, but there are also so many drinks they don’t have that i miss. One of them is tea. My mom used to make tea all the time when I was little and she would pour me some in this little red cup that we kept for years, and every time i saw it i would remember my mom making tea in that big bowl over the stove.

The ingredients are yummy aren’t they? I have eaten them many times before, but this time was the best. I’m sure of it. The way they flick off my teeth bouncing across my tongue and down my throat fills my tummy like no other. I just wish they would stop screaming. Yes, their screaming concerns me greatly. I feel as if I need to rectify the screaming before I can eat them next time.

You wandered in
Boots at the door
And the heaviness left
When your easiness arrived

A little seed, placed so lightly by the fingertip.
A tiny dance performed inside your shoe on the journey home.
A moment in the sun while walking to the train station.

My first remembered cake was my fourth birthday. At that point in my life I’d only really socialized with my mom’s best friend’s twins and the other kids my babysitter watched. I remember being kind of surprised and overwhelmed, in a good way, that all the attention was for me.
