RED AND COLD AND HARD
» Posted By VAL On 09.09.2008 @ 1:55 pm
The memory of days and nights spent in your company and arms; the sweet smell of the soap on your skin; the taste of mint in your kiss. The soft touch of your hand grasping mine: We should have never let go. I cannot see you, your face, even in memory; I smell you, I taste you, I hear you and your song, I feel your touch, but I cannot see your face. It has been lost in the deep murky waters of memory.

it is never a pleasant time to let you go. the sound of your voice. the intensity of your depth. the time is near. I cannot let you go. The past that reacts to my every thought. I can not tell this from the present. Lost in you. lost in us.

She put the pie into the oven. it was warm and moist inside, just like the inside of her thighs on a hot summer day- today, really, which was why she was baking completely naked. It was fun. Raspberry and pies and rhubarb and cream cheese, and being naked in the summer with the windows all open, high on the fiftieth floor of a tall building where no-one could see her but the pigeons. it was baking in here. She knew that. She also knew that the window-cleaners were due soon.

she was a shieldmaiden, carrying the broad sword on her arm like a barrier to all who dared to cross her breast. She had hair like a Selkie, could swim like a seal and knew all the ways to twist a man’s arm into delicate and breathtaking origami cranes. That was the purpose of a shieldmaiden, of course. Creating chaos out of total order. Creating desire out of total apathy.

last night at the shakespeare play, a crazy wild version of As You Like It, they had one scene set in a 1920sish nightclub. A guy came on stage, under the spotlight, and sang with jazz hands. Fantastic!

He lost his mittens and I wanted to buy him new ones for Christmas but didn’t know if it would be weird for me to buy him a present since he still cares about his ex-girlfriend.

Eating at McDonald’s. McDonald’s is depressing. And yet that makes me an asshole for assuming something like that. I’m still glad I don’t have to clear people’s trays though. People are sloppy assholes who believe it is their God given right to leave mess for other people to clean up.

I trotted like a horse down a lane, click click click. My master wasn’t pleased. I stopped for some hay on the way and listened to Lay Lady Lay. I took a carousel horse down to the el.

Gem stones, natural wonder incarnate, a non functional mineral yet their beauty leads to bloodshed, wealth status and power, a mere rock from the earth can move the hearts of many, entrap hearts within greed and force the toil of others to satisfy our need
