The print was blurry and smudged, streaks of black and blue ink trailing across the sketchy image of a house. Maybe he shouldn’t have left it out in the rain.

She leaned against the brick wall with careful nonchalance, blue eyes scanning the small screen she held up in front of her pale face. “getn lnch. bak soon.”

Good. She was hungry.

The ball dropped from the tips of my icy fingers. I swore and bent to retrieve it, but the cold had turned my fingers from flesh and bone to stiff useless sticks protruding from the end of my deliberately overlong sleeves.

i dropped a basket on my toe at work earlier. I accidentally swore under my breath infront of a customer….luckily she saw the funny side, and commented that she had done the same thing a week least i know i’m not the only person out there silly enough to drop a basket on my toe.

Problem solved. That’s what she said to me, like it had been some minor issue about where to go for dinner or what shoes to wear. As far as I was concerned the problem would never be solved unless she proved she loved me and divorced him. This wasn’t just a relationship she was denying, it was a way of life.

I can’t wait until summer. It is warm and pretty and I won’t have school. I’m going to Interlochen but I’m going first session. I am going to have a very busy summer. We are going to New York and Montana and Philly. But then I have auditions at South in September so hopefully I’ll be back by then.

How do I want to look? I questioned myself as I looked in the mirror. Respectable. Clean nails. Neat clothes. Respectable. Don’t walk over me. Respectable for a new start.

I can discover the world on my screen. I can only explore it out there.

Fiction is something that is made up. The opposite of fact. Fiction is a popular form of writing – most people read novels and these tend to be fiction. It is a genre of books. Fiction is made of 8 letters with 2 syllables.

Her last expedition was not a success.
Not the kind of success that she’d hoped for, anyway.
She’d made her way into the world of Men – hesitantly, like a bashful fawn foraging through the woods, prodding the strange and exotic things she found along the way with a wet nose – but her only success was in drawing unwanted attention from undesirable Men.

I was sitting in the library when all of a sudden you came up behind me and whispered in my ear. You said “Meet me in the scien section, but give me 10 seconds.” I impatiently counted to ten, closed my book abruptly, and made my way to the science section. YOu were there, of course, but you weren’t waiting for me. No, those 10 seconds I generously gave you were spent with those lips I so often dream about locked to hers..

Ariel sat by the well; picking at the crumbling brick, rubbing it into dust between her fingers. She had tossed her coin into the well and was still waiting to hear the splash at the bottom. She stood up and walked away from the promise of a better life. She looked back, heard the splash and smiled to herself. Furthering her own delusion that a situation ungoverned by her would change her life for the better.

This word reminds me of lust. ‘Obvious’ signals being transmitted, and wrongly received. A girl looks at a person they find attractive across a bar, then looks down, red-cheeked. She’s thinking she has been blaringly obvious in her advances, yet the person they set their sights on is none the wiser.

optimisim is a glass-half-full kind of concept. If you’re optimistic, you will always look for the good in a situation; never be panicked and always look on the bright side.

I waS open to the fact thay things chamge. I wasn’t though optomistic about the fact that my bestfriend was moving. Optomism , I then learned tha she wasn’t optomistic about the fact that I was going to miss her .whatever I told her

Eleanor tapped ceaselessly on the typewriter, never pausing in contemplation, not hesitating when distractions arose. In the next room, Mark’s eyes narrowed as he grew less patient with the incessant noise. Unable to take any more, he flung open the door and glared at her wordlessly. She didn’t stop typing, didn’t even look up. He grabbed the paper, pulling it out of the typewriter and ripping it as he did so. The first tear in their marriage. That stupid machine.

…Constricter. That’s what I think of anyway, I saw a picture of a pink snake today. I’ve never been a snake lover but a PINK snake, that is just too cute. I’m more of a lizard person to be honest, unfortunately none of my family particularly enjoy the company of reptiles.

Losing it. I’m sure I am losing it. I hit my head with my folder as I walk up the empty staircase. There is no one here. I am sure no one heard the loud bang. I am sure I have not damaged that many brain cells. I punch the door as I push it. My knuckles cry out in pain.

Claire’s eyes were wide as she stood on her tiptoes, straining to see out of the window. With one hand she gripped the windowsill to keep herself up, and in the other she clutched her teddy bear, battered and worn with love and devotion. Beyond the glass, endless stretches of woodland were visible as far as the eye could see. So much beauty and mystery. So many possibilities.

I stared upwards, mouth slightly open in amazement. Gazing upwards at the immense skyscrapers that almost pierced the clouds, I realised that I had no idea that the transition from my countryside home to this modern fairytale would be so awe inspiring.

I bit down on my lip, my teeth gnawing on the soft flesh subconciously. This was something that my mother had told me not to do on many occasions, but she wasn’t here to tell me that now. That was the problem. I lowered my face to hide my misty eyes.

It was a nail. Just a nail. But there was something about the way it jutted out of the wall, tinged with rust and at a peculiar angle that made my skin crawl. It was offensive, but I’m not sure why. I screwed my eyes shut and willed it to disappear.

its funny how this word always seems to end up in essays. There’s “the bunny test” where you insert it randomly in the essay to see if your teacher is really reading. Then there’s the stories about someone writing a bunny story instead of an actual answer.

Bunny rabbits. Remind of you. Because you’d always find them cute. Bunny rabbits. I don’t need you. But you’re everywhere. In every drawing of ever book. Tiny cartoons. Silly jokes. Sunshines. Smiles. And it’s so hard to erase you.

Bunnies always remind me of a school trip I went on when I was about 7; we stayed in a huge house with a gargantuan garden with an unbelievable amount of rabbits. We were all very young and didn’t understand the saying ‘At it like rabbits’ but we all laughed anyway. I kind of want that innocence back.
