I’m in search of an editor.
Someone to organize the flow of information — the undulating circulation of knowledge — that propels me.
Help. That’s what I need.
Someone who can make it make sense.

Around and around the little strip spins as a new idea comes into play. A cassette full of memories, who knew.

What a funny man, she said.
And then she was gone.
Had he not made her laugh?
Was a laugh not but an orgasm of the mouth?
Was it not?
Was he wrong?

He scampered quickly across the rooftops, barely letting the balls of his feet touch the tiles before they were off again. He recalled hearing, “Cat on a hit tin roof,” but he couldn’t remember what it related to. It didn’t matter. Escape was the only thing on his mind.

He didn’t move. There was no flinch, even in the soft spot around his eyes. She struck him with truth from her tongue but he could only absorb the shock. It was too late to avoid the honesty. But he won’t run. He’ll take every shot she can hurl at him. He deserves it. Anything is better than losing her. And even if he does, at least he’ll have this one last memory of their time together.

I had to make a choice.
The two paths in front of me stretched far beyond my sight, like long rivers – fury in their white rapids and serenity in their still meanders – and though their bends would drew near each other, they remained separate all the same. I could not see where they would meet, or where they would part – the pain of choosing one over the other, a cruel choice between pragmatism and subjectivity, words that surely contradict each other in meaning but share a common nature: love or love? Yet if I choose one, I cannot bring myself to say that I chose love.
I made a choice to have both in my life. Love is in pragmatism and love is in subjectivity, pillars to build a foundation on my reality – but the void between them I will feel cause their echoes to reverberate in my mind, and all I can manage is to watch from five feet behind.
I guess that’s what you get with degrees in Japanese Language & Literature and Communication Studies. I didn’t even mention poor fate of Ecological Restoration…

“Happy New Year!!!!” the room cheered, corks were popping and the champagne was flowing. The good stuff too, Dom Perignon. Everyone getting their first kiss of the new year…everyone but me and the homely girl in the corner. She seemed nice enough, I’ll walk over to her. I grab a second flute and make my way over. We make eye contact, I extend one of the flutes, she turns her head and states, “not if you were the last guy on earth.”
Well, this is going to be a great year, off to a wonderful start. I stand there, frozen, two champagne glasses in my hand.

Angels are the most beautiful of all creatures, they fall from the sky, yet fall graciously. However they are hard to come by, but when you come across one you will know. But the devil was once an angel.

Venture is a key word. Back in the days I could actually venture, I’d do it as often as I could. I’d grab my new bride, and we’d go to a random town and venture with the locals there. I long for those days.

Normal is the watchword, she said. Indeed, the word was innocuous, yet in this town, it held more weight in theory than in practice. Strange things happened all the time, and while some were willfully blind, others saw…everything.

There’s a lot out there that I’d like to discover. Discover a new life, a new partner, a new scene. But instead, I am here, on this computer, hoping I’ll discover more from the comfort of my home…like that’s ever worked for me. I’m too comfortable, even when I’m upset, I still get nowhere

“You’re stalling!” He said.
The group waited for me to demonstrate my latest magic trick, turning a penny into a quarter. I thought I had it, all the practice that I did. And yet, nothing was happening. I had to buy more time to make the magic come back.

There you sat, coiled in a ring. I always wondered how you could twist and turn your body that way. You said you were in pain, but I think now that you were lying; you just liked the attention. My memories of you are fading, thankfully.

Sterile. It was only one word but it described his apartment so well. He had only recently moved in, but he was never one to keep many personal effects. There was a photo of him with his parents as a young boy stuck to the fridge, and he had a few books on travel from his youth.

I leaned on his shoulder for support as I resisted collapsing into the grave with her. The sepulcher seemed to invite, beckon me to it, in all its death and impending decay. I looked at her lifeless body and tried to resist the lure of the tomb that she called me to.

Chivalry is an arbitrary notion of how one should treat a supposedly ‘noble’ man. While it makes for rather light-hearted entertainment at the expense of the poor, ignoble peasant class, it ignores the fact that you are still a fucking moron.

I’ve often thought of myself as the sort of person who requires justification for everything I do – in other words, to rationalize through life. However, the more that I think about it, the more I realize that justification is always based on prior beliefs; some reasonable, but some that are so ingrained that it’s arbitrariness is forgotten. Thus, my conviction for the next semester and year is to live more spontaneously, to discard prior beliefs, and go with the flow.

life is instant. for some people. that is. but maybe its instant to everyone but just not everyone keeps up to it. never realised 60 seconds was this long. so many things could happen. this is how instant life is.

This is it. Perfect solitude. A blanket on the grass underneath the stars. The perfect host for a beautiful summer’s night. What else could he ask for. Just a man, a dog, a jeep and no home to hold him back. The world was full of opportunity and he had no reason to stay in one place.

Stores are great because they can convey information that I would normally not know or care about, but maybe the story is great and then I will start to care about it and that would be good because stories have the power to do that even when the story is boring it can be somewhat entertaining because stories are like that some people tell good stories but mostly people are terrible story tellers but sometimes they are good I like stories.

Time slipping, soul lost, wondering, remembering, what was instilled within. The secret, the code of Orion.

Fear, it came often, when the machines searched at night. The IR signature of the remaining humanity was easier to see, in the dark. Instilled it was, fear, of the machines.

I WAS SITTING IN THE BOAT AS THE WAVES POUNDED AGAINST THE VESSEL. MY ARMS WERE FLAILING WILDLY AS I WAS ROCKED BACK AND FORTH. WITHOUT TIME TO CATCH MY BREATH, I REACHED OUT AND SNAGGED THE RAILING TO STEADY MYSELF.

It was cold and the snow was blowing across the field where the wheat was supposed to grow. it was supposed to be gold but instead it was white. Well gray mostly. And this was their spring. This was their food. These were their dreams. Nothing growing except the snow.

There I was a visitor to another world, lost yet somewhat comforted that I had arrived. I walked slowly through the distant landscape, unaware I was being watched. Yet some how I knew that there were eyes on me.

He walked in the door like he owned the place, truth was he was my visitor of the day. He looked around as if he was looking for somebody, he seemed nervous.
