Stirring my cake mix with my wooden laddle, I look to my right and see my sister doing the same with hers. Baking goodies for Christmas every year has become a tradition of ours.

Themselves are they are we are us. You are me, but I am them and themselves are they are us are we.
If they do it to themselves they do it to us and we and you and me.

I wasn’t thinking, just running. Trotting down the dusty, broken, land, I thought of life and death. Alongside the running river, I ran, and wondered when the hungry tigress would catch up. I didn’t know if I was strong enough to survive, but I had to try.

Success is a vast spectrum of opportunities made most of. To Lipi, in Bangladesh, success is putting food on the table. Come to think of it, success is very simple, you just need some perspective.

“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?”
And the answer changed my life.

There is an invisible thread that connects me to you. It’s thin, fragile and delicate. And it is prone decay. If time allows, our bond will last, otherwise, it will break.

Negative feedback has been, and still is, a vital factor in adaptation. In other words, punishment is how we evolved. Punishment can be the end, or a brand new beginning. On the smaller scale, it makes you realize what you’re doing wrong. And helps you grow. It’s nothing to be afraid of.

Stay near me,
when I am lost,
and need somebody close,
So I don’t feel alone,
and closed off from the world.
Stay with me,
Right by my side,
So I can find the comfort,
Of knowing that I haven’t made too many mistakes,
Stay by me,
So that I may find strength,
In your presence.

Discovery is one of my favorite words. I means, taking off the veil of ignorance. It allows us to truly grasp the enormity and the beauty of the world and of our own selves.

Eventually, we all find the answers. Some of us cheat to get quick answers, and others apply their own skills and knowledge. Some answers require the right time and space, while others are right under our noses. But the answers are there, always. The difference is how you get to those answers.

It’s a boomerang.
You stretch it, and it comes right back.
Potential to move back to it’s original place.
An elastic never forgets where it belongs.

I wonder what drives life? This struggle for survival, the search for happiness, the or need to escape from ourselves. Sometimes, when I’m in a car and I look out the window, I can see all these things take place at the same time outside. Maybe that’s why we need faster, and more extensive modes of transportation. Until in the end, life drives us. Taking things slow once in a while is important. Don’t go too fast.

Brick walls, thick walls,
an edifice, impenetrable.
I tried to break, I tried to shake,
no it didn’t,
it stood still.

Do you ever feel the pressure of drawing under pressure? Every choice of color seems dubious and every stroke of the brush brings on regret? Like you have to paint the perfect picture?
But why, really, do we try so hard to be someone we’ve imagined? Why not just be ourselves, paint our canvas, with all its imperfections and flaws.

An onion is a bulb; not the kind that lights up, it’s a fleshy body from which a stem sprouts. It’s the courage the onion plant needs, to grow.

Manager’s should be nice to their employees. I understand that their jobs involve getting things done efficiently, but you can get the most out of colleagues when you truly care about them. A healthy working environment is ultimately far more efficient.

Take me to a higher level? I’ve never thought about the word level before.

I was boiling with anger. Burst of it was bubbling up my throat, threatening to unleash it’s hot fury on the anyone within reaching distance. I couldn’t bottle my emotions in anymore; it’s just not fair.

You must always hold fast to your roots.
Without it, your whole structure is unstable, incomplete, and incapable. The roots provide you with the strength that moves through your being and bring you to like.
The roots are your identity.

Growth occurs in a series of steps, not just in one go. Just like that, life must be passed in a series of moments, not just one outcome. Similarly, forgiveness takes a series of choices, slowly leading up to emancipation.

Muse used to be one of my favorite bands. They are a three member band and they are unbelievably talented. Especially Matthew Bellamy, oh, he is beyond amazing! The very first song I heard from Muse was Starlight.
“Far Away, this ship has taken me far away,
far away from my memories,
of the people who care if I live or die”.

He had the twinkle of amusement in his eyes as he stared, wide eyed, at the little snail inching past the lemon tree. He was fascinated by the bob of its shell and the trail of slime that followed devoutly behind it.
Kids are so amused by this quirky old world. It always manages to stop me in my tracks and breathe; take life slow, and take in all of the amusement it has to offer.

We formed a band in grade 10, called The Dices. We were just kids, having fun, blissfully ignorant of how much we really sucked. We were really bad.

I hear the thick rumbling of thunder before it turned into heavy claps. Then, eventually, it sounder like the rolling of drums. Frightened by the onset of a furious storm, I left him. I never returned.

She could see flashes of white behind the thick boulders of clouds, like cameras going off in a crowded room. The night air was still and suffocating. The stillness made her wish for rain, for some stir in the air that would awaken her anesthetized senses.

I don’t fall ill too quickly, but when I do get sick, it’s the worst feeling of all. It’s true, the body is the greatest instrument we will ever own, and the best time to realize this is when something is wrong with this magnificent collection of specialized cells that we call the human body. Out of sickness, appreciation is born.

You can see her skeleton through her skin. A sickly pale girl, she hardly had any flesh between her bones and skin. I never knew why she wanted to appear so sickly, never knew why she never liked herself.

I’m flying on an airplane for the first time in my life. My ticket is booked and my bags are packed. My ticket is my wing, and the hope that burns in my heart will propel me. To great heights, I will fly…my ticket is my license to be free.

I don’t really know the difference between purple and violet. Aren’t they the same? Then again, no two colors are the same. Colors are unique, just like people.
