band

I don’t like band. I would never be in band, unless I had to choose between band, and oh, I don’t know, choir. I’m not musically inclined. I also don’t like marching. Or looking nerdy in front of a football stadium filled with my peers. Dance team? Sure. Cheerleading? Eh. Band? No. The only thing worse is flag twirling or whatever the hell they do out there. I like foods and language and art, electives like that. Anyway, I don’t have friends in band. Okay, maybe two or three.

skeleton

I think I’ll find a sedated sermon to fall into… beat it into my skeleton, turn around, and forget it all over again; its boringness, its lack of strength. Solidity is something I crave when I’m floating away.

ticket

I walked into the alley after work like usual. I always enjoy walking through alleys. They’re quiet except for the people who hangout in alleys for other reasons. As I was walking I saw a small envelope on the ground. I walked up to it thinking not much of it.

cigarette

my parents smoke at least one cigarette a day. they smoke a lot more than that though. at least 5 each day. well my mum does. dont know about my dad. i knoe he smokes less than that because hes actually making an effort to quit. i am scared that if they dont quit in time, they will die early. i know lots of people that smoke and wish that the government will make it illegal to smoke. i love my mum and dad. bye now.

etiquette

Etiquette is what we think are “manners” when really it is just what is socially accepted. It’s mainstreaming.

plague

it happened fast. there was no beginning, and an end didn’t seem to be near. it was just this fast acting disease that wiped out everything and left almost nothing behind.

straw

Hi this is me talking from outerspace. I would just like to say that your ingenious I dea to make a straw…You know the things that help you sip your cups..sooo smart I want to make a flaying juice and park it on the rear end on my car. I didn’t know you could be so handsomly smart about something so silly.

» Posted By Nikki On 07.12.2011 @ 1:26 am

in a drink it is what you sip from. it often can bend and sometimes it is just regular and straight, like they are are mcdonalds or starbucks, however bendy straws are commonly sold in large packs and with multicolored stripes resembling circuses, in my humble opinion. I like milk with straws and water.

stem

Tree, flower, plants, all, feeding up into the sky, breathe life, breathing time, water and nutrients, up to light, hold me, swinging, lift up, face with me the force of gravity.

given

It’s a GIVEN that I should be able to write about this word, but it’s not as simple as one may think. So I’m gonna write about lamps. Lamps are so cool! It’s like portable light, man. Who thought of that? I mean, really. Who? That’s so awesome. I mean, a lamp. C’mon! That’s amazing right there. Amazing.

honest

Not many people are truly honest. I don’t think honest people tell others that they’re honest. You can’t really claim to be honest, you know? It’s something that other people gather about you from being around you. Others can see you as honest, but you can’t really see yourself as honest, honestly.

» Posted By Nikki On 06.30.2011 @ 11:46 pm

Honesty is overrated. Lots of people say that all they want is honesty, but the truth hurts…big time. No one can really handle the pure and simple truth. It’s too raw for them. Everything has to be refined and run through before anyway sees/hears it these days.

intense

Intense reminds me of a really strong piece of gum. Or something really really strong. Like, overwhelmingly strong. Haha. Or a situation that’s crazy and overwhelming. Mint gum, though, that’s the first thing that came to mind. Those commercials with a rush of wind and water. Yknow?

train

She’s on a midnight train going anywhere. The epitome of lost. She doesn’t care where she’s going or when she’ll get there, as long as she gets away from him. Yes, that one. You know. The guy she wrapped her heart around. The guy that gave her nothing in return. He doesn’t like trains. It’s all pretty ironic, if you think about it.

» Posted By Nikki On 06.16.2011 @ 10:20 am

Alex stood on the platform waiting as his train arrived. He was going to visit the person he’d been talking to online for the past six months and he was a mixture of excited and nervous. They had shared their age, sex and location but he hadn’t seen him before today.

station

they decided to meet at the train station.
“I can’t be with you like this anymore,” she says.
“But please, I love you,” he replies.
They lock eyes. The train whistle blows and she boards the train. She watches him as the train rides away.

beloved

my beloved is a pain in the ass. i don’t think beloved would even be the right word for, maybe pulling teeth would be more appropriate. being smitten is fucking hard.

corner

every time I turn a corner on my bicycle, i have to remember to lift up the pedal closest to the ground so that it doesn’t scrape. I also always manage to run into corners on things like tables and counters. On many occasions I have been cornered by opossums, I think they like me.

forgetting

i remember trying to forget about so many events in my life that it ends up really just reconstructing itself further and stronger into my memories. I don’t understand that if we’re able to make so many decisions in our lives, why the ones we decide we want to forget are so difficult in practicality. things that cause us stress and harm should be forgotten.

remember

Remember. The moments, the feelings, the people. Because in the end, all you’ll have left are the memories. Whether they’re happy, or sad, they will be all you will have when you’re alone. And there will come a time when you are alone, and all you’ll have left is to remember.

sideburns

Elvis I think had the best sideburns ever. But he died really early in life, so Elvis isn’t someone I want to be like. He seems like a huge player. Maybe IRS the funny way he walks.

despair

Oh the agony, she always used to say. I never really believed her until yesterday when I saw her screaming. It scared me. I won’t lie; it scared me: to see her curled in a ball in the corner of our living room. I never knew what mom was going through up until that moment. I never knew how bad she felt about dad leaving.

pretzel

They are salty and twisty and they are baked in the oven. I used to sell them for my elementary school, Oakland Avenue Elementary. They are amazing but you can not eat them without something to dirnk or you will get really thirsty. I don’t want to stop typing about pretzels because they are awesome!

thief

he killed a man ad he ran out the door to the bank, he couldnt bvelive he just robbed someone he couldnt believe he was going to go to jail, how was he going to deal with this? his family would disown him and his friends would stop talking to him, his life was over. What would jail be like? Would he be hurt? Will he change? will he die in prison for his crimes that he had now commited? is was all just a long list of questions, that would remain unaswered.

wrath

Burning within you. It is hatred. It is pain and horror. For revenge. It is unforgivable and undeniably painful.
