I wonder who put the extra hours in this day. I feel as though I’ve been trying to make my way to the end of this day for far too long. Certainly it’s time to slumber. Regroup. Try again in the morning. Curious about what awaits in the morning. More long hours? Perhaps super fast moving clock hands will assist me to Wednesday.

I have forgotten much. I remember love but not by whom. I remember touch but, again, not by whom. And, I’m afraid, I’ve forgotten you.

The crew fought against the tumultuous waves. Hour upon hour. And failed. The captain would have been so proud of their efforts. But he was the first thrown overboard.

I never know. But I don’t usually waver. My husband goes back and forth. Wavering a lot. I wait. Think my options through and speak only after I’ve decided. I hate wavering. The “this is what I’m going to do” followed with the “no, I think I’m really going to do this.” Aack.

Heel and soul. They go well together, don’t they?
Thougtfully, as a child, I studied my foot and prodded around the rolls of fat to see how well they would squish. They were strange with the tiny little bones underneath them, the particularly solid ball at the back that wouldn’t squish no matter how hard I pressed.
I wonder why they chose the name soul, though. Heel and soul… Healing the soul?

Camp. Oh boy. When do I leave? I used to go to camp as a child. Why did I stop? Now that I’m a busy mom of three and wife, I could really use a week away. I could swim. Sail. Craft. Sing. Oh why did I stop going?

whoa this is deja vu…the same word, same dragon on his heels ..same situation now just one more worried look until a new solution can be gained and the words found to speak to make sense of such a celestial being.. could they be friends? Would the dragon come to his aid? Could he be enlisted in the battle ahead?

I never wanted more than I had. Things were so much easier that way. I was content, confident, comfortable. I wish I had never met him. He turned everything upside down, shook out all the drawers and exposed everything that I’d hidden away. I would still be happy with the way things were, if I hadn’t seen the way they could be. Everything was simple before, and he made it complicated.

Ooh. Stamps! Something added on to the mail, or added as a push or part of a kicked. I stamped around and jumped in joy when I realized I had done what was needed. Although in all simplicity, stamps are just nice to have sometimes. Sometimes collected.

I’ve always had wonderful teeth. They’ve been straight, only two cavities. They have served me well. But as I’ve aged, I’ve developed a small gap in between my two front teeth. People don’t even notice, but it bugs me to no end. Imperfection.

Oh what it would be to transport a broken heart, a broken mind, a broken self and yet see at the end that none of the cargo were broken but merely shifted ajar and rustled about a bit. To transport that which you hold most dear you must do it with care. Like as when you write. -End.

There’s railroad tracks near the house in which I grew up. When I was younger I used to walk for hours back and forth on those tracks…walk and think…think and talk to God. I used to wonder where in the world those tracks led, where I would end up if I just kept walking and never looked back.

They played with magnets today,
that twisted in tiny strands
forming an ivory tower of silver.
I watched, through my hair,
trying not to stare,
but probably not fooling anyone.
I wasn’t watching the magnets.

Average. Ah the bane of mediocrity. Something that everyone strives for and nobody achieves. What the people use to measure against everything else and in truth never exists. Average doesn’t exist, embrace the weird!

i did this already, but i didn’t talk about the wind.
i didn’t talk about riding up a mountain, under the trees that whispered and told me:
“it’s okay to make stories
about this creature you are riding.
because they’re not true.
but they could be.”
that is my favorite sound in the world.

i’m riding again.
it’s been a really long time since i’ve had a regular ride, and i am so, so, so glad to be back on a horse –
so happy i’m failing to use capital letters, how weird is that?
once upon a time i would have hated to not use capital letters.
i’ve gotten weird.
i’m riding again, but i feel like every time i run into someone from equine sciences,
i don’t deserve to be.
they know more.
they know better.
i’m just a girl who loves horses, romanticizes them, knows nothing anymore.
i used to.
back when i used capital letters.

Sometimes when I understood something, I thought I knew what it meant. Now, I don’t. Like death, life, school, friends, boyfriends. Marriage…babies. Life is silly. It is not easily understood. I miss being a kid.

Sponges. Things that absorb, things taken in. Something filled with calcium carbonate and yet able to support a great deal of life underneath the ocean.

Haha. Strung along from moment to moment. Part by part, piece by piece. I love those little moments when I can dive and simply fall into what I know is right. The “knowing” seems to make it feel best.

Something passed on. Something shifted. Something covered with good intentions, and feelings, and thoughts so that when opened it elicits laughter and joy from the other person. Something to wish to pass on, and something to leave behind.

A vase? Hmm. Not what I was expecting. A lovely little thing with patterns of orchids and birds, and other such things. It’s curious, curved, and switches taste depending on the person.

Forgotten passages of time. Forgotten people. Forgotten things that seem to pass you by, and yet none of them are forgot in either heart or memory. Those things that often pass us by are stored as bits and pieces which we never quite let go, or keep dear. To forget is love. To remember, fond infatuation.

Generate? But I generated something for this already. Damn. I thought I’d find something different. Ah well. It is one word per day. At least it’ll give me something to come out and be happy about. There is something calming about just generating words and finding my balance.
» Posted By kit On 07.09.2010 @ 6:32 pm
Generate. Haha. It’s been a while since I’ve had to generate something like this. The act, the thoughts, the feelings, the rush, everything. It’s when I can let go. When I can find my balance. When I can be me. No. Not though. The word is a calming thing now, I’m surprised I didn’t do this sooner :D.

I locked the door
and closed my eyes,
and breathed in
the sweet, sweet
If I could just reach out my fingers
I wouldn’t need to see;
the world would be open
–no locked doors–
because I know how to
