Success is having found what it takes to keep you smiling.

I saw a photo of a notice posted to a telephone pole for a lost cat. The text said something like “Lost cat, VERY nasty temper, hard to handle etc…” The photo copy picture, you could clearly see that it wasn’t a cat at all, it was a possum. That has to rank as one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, having had to deal with a possum or two, they’re NOT remotely friendly.

When I was 20, I took a motorcycle trip, I left from north east Pennsylvania and took sky line drive down through TN and on down 95 to central Florida. I lived there for a few months between camping and getting an apartment, then finally took off again, out route 10 through all the southern states then up through Nevada to Lake Tahoe.

On route, as the GPS will guide you through. You may be on the literal route, navigating home. Or perhaps you’re on a route to your inner self, finding inner peace and content-ness. Good or bad, let’s continue our routes.

The sound of industrial diamond on the glass of the skylight made my skin crawl, it always does, but it’s the sound of progress tonight! There are several books that belonged in my collection rather than that of the library, tonight they would be mine! I held the handle suctioned to the glass and gave the cutting a thump and watched it snap free…

I’d write something witty but I gotta split…

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Wishing is akin to visualization, which I do believe has some merit. One must see ones self doing something before one can find themselves doing it. I’m going to pick up that glass and fill it with water, wish it so, see it happen in your minds eye, then do it. Wishing can make things happen, just don’t aim too high. :)

There isn’t one thing on this planet that won’t be tarnished when Sol goes supernova.

I was born under a bad sign, I’ve been down since I began to crawl, if it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all. -SRV

We still follow mythology. Did the ancient Greeks believe any less that Zues was their god than we do ours? Myth as always been there, a crutch for the fragile human psyche, to explain that which can’t be explained, answer the unanswerable.

We’re running on electric, silent, the enemy scanning, listening. I gave the order to alter course by 5degrees to port, sweat trickling down my cheek onto the chart. There are objects in the water all around us, I don’t know if they’re mines or something new. When we get out of this, I’m really looking forward to looping back at night and sinking that destroyer.

An alter in every Vietnamese home here in vietnam. Red, adorned with wood carvings of dragons, embellished with fruits, rice, pork meat, and incense sticks in vases filled with sand, in dedication to our ancestors. My ancestor’s portraits. the family will meet here every so often and pay our respects, hold the incense sticks before the alter and bow down three times, get on our knees, put our foreheads to the floor and get up again and shake our hands for three more times. every vietnamese house has an alter. but since emigrating to america, i don’t know how many vietnamese americans have an alter. my family doesnt. i dont know what will become of the alter. the family.

I kept blowing fuses on my motorcycle, even while trying to diagnose the problem, I don’t know why I thought it would be such a good idea to jamb a loop of bent paperclip between the posts. What’s amazing is that a 12 volt system could make it glow like a filament in a light bulb and burn the ever loving hell out of my fingers where I was pinching it. While paperclips have many uses, this is one I wouldn’t recommend.

My position on the assembly line, I alone decide count or rejection for misfit toys, and they don’t go to a happy island to find homes with misfit boys and girls. These toys go down the ABS chute to be melted down. The plastic part hopper, otherwise known as toy-hell.

Opportunity. Nothing can stop me. I wil forever be able to take the world by storm. I will always shoot for the stars so I may continue to reach them. Dream as big as possible. No limits.

Optimism is something I don’t come by readily. I’ve grown so used to the jagged rocks post tumbles from precipices that I expect nothing less. When I am treated to an outcome of alternate nature I’m pleasantly surprised! Those who are saddled with tending to my burial know that my epitaph should read “Nothing is EVER easy”.

The cannon crashed up in the pass, they’re doing avalanche control again and I’m not getting out of this cabin till spring. Again, I count the shells for my rifle and wonder if I’ll find enough game to make it.

I was shopping for christmas presents in an old antique store with my best friend sydney. She was wandering about looking for nothing in particular when she realized that she had always wanted a heavy old typewriter – “one that was horribly inefficient,” she said.

stuck….. not able to set free…… held solid…. bound by truth and your values…. you stick
you stick to me…… not wanting to let go……. always resolute……. I will stick here, I will not move….. I will make myself a memory long after we are both gone.

I wrote about this stick before. I said Phallus, and I said a tree branch. A phallus, a penis. A tree branch. But I got dirty when writing about the phallus. It was before I made an account with my name to it, so I went wild. But I can’t go wild now, because my name is on here. Oh the inhibitions, the confines. But really, who would care. I am just being narcissistic thinking anyone would care. A tree branch, however. Annie, my 5 year old neighbor. I was three, she was five. Points of the tree branch were covered in tree sap and we caught ants that marched to and fro the crack in my driveway. She left one day, my best friend, and never came back.

I had just finished uttering the words “Please be careful with that stick” when my girlfriend hauled back with a baseball bat sized stick she was throwing for the dog, released it too late and hit me right on the orbit of my eye! We were on the beach, the blood contrasting against white sand was impressive, it drew a crowd.

Upon reflection, I’ve made some poor choices in my time. When those choices combine with bad luck, bad timing and being in the wrong place at the wrong time… Well. One that comes to mind in crystal clarity is turning around in my quiet hotel room to find a pair of armed security guards pointing their glocks at me. A LONG story but all a big misunderstanding I assure you!

Sheets draped over chairs, pillows stacked, cat toy and stuffed animal ammunition at the ready, my fort rocks! You can’t hope to compete against me, any sheet for you build will pale in compare. I have all the cushions from the couch! haha!

Order stamps out entropy, it’s the nature of humans, well most of us that aren’t harbingers of chaos, to restore order where we tread. Why is that?

I don’t get why people have tempers. It’s okay if it’s temporary, but after that, people just need to get over it. In the end, it’s really not THAT big of a deal. Little things piss us off, but we need to get over it. Move forward. Bad things happen all the time. Start focusing on the good things that happen all the time! Smil

The edge of the blade glowed like something from another world by the light of the forge. It might as well be from another world, it was certainly the height of technology, nothing matched it. Carbonized steel, folded 200 times and tempered by the hottest fire.

The weight on my chest was immense, like a cinder block on my breast bone. Oh, oh! The stillness, there’s nothing more odd than the ultimate silence when your own heart stops beating…

All of the sudden it dawned on me, just what I was dealing with. This was a true believer and I’d never in a million years and all my breath, convince him that I was right. And I am right.
