Root. I remember going to my grandma’s house and seeing Alex Haley’s “Roots.” This serves as a contrast to my other grandmother who consistently tells me how horrible black people are. I am afraid that she is my roots.

Below the surface of the muddy waters something sparkled. A few coins and a broken key.

She wept solemnly before the evening moonlight. Tears stained her nightgown like dark, moist flower petals. The triangle was complete, and there was nothing she could do about it.

triangles make me think of love triangles. I guess because my mind has been so preoccupied with love lately. three sided things have always just seemed more complex to me, even more so than four-sided ones. something about the way that everything is connected by rigidly set apart, I can’t even ful

One who goes about the world with an open mouth, sheltered eyes, closed ears, and empty brain and a cold heart.

Torn. Sweet. Fortuitously dropped into red hot futures, baked, risen, eaten, digested. My muffin is my sanctuary, my delight in destroying wheaty, sticky flesh.

The sound of silence. If silence even has a sound. For someone to be mute, have they lost expression? A man of words can only find that words are the easiest way to express oneself; and to have that taken away, is there truly any meaning left? But yet, no sound produced; what is one left to do? It seems that being mute…is a curse while at the same time a blessing to be appreciated.

The myth of social order is that a person needs a government to parent them through the difficulties of life and it’s unpredictable turns. The real key here is the power of the individual to perceive the world as an experience unique to their own lives and make decisions accordingly, not as a puppet or a sheep to be led, but as a master and a creator of futures unwritten.

Into the pool. Thoughts of Preston at the pool up at the lake (seems redundant, I know) in the summers. He loves the water. Mental image is of me, in the water, while he gets out, and begins to run around the edge. I tell him to stop. He, of course, ignores me.

he had a fun time on the island until he died. He survived for a long time, if you consider 3 days a long time. But he thought that he would have more time once he died, because he would be in heaven. most people don’t want to die.

Veins are the things that carry blood throughout our bodies. Human bodies, that is. I think that plants have veins too. Like celery. When you stick it in a glass of colored water the celery carries the color up its stalk.

Waves building, lapping, filling, finding me amongst the swell. From a city failing, crashing, burning, the water frees me from this hell…

MA was a boxer. He helped in the fight for civil rights. Normally I think that boxing is a very violent sport, so I don’t watch it, but I DO respect it. Also, I secretly wish that I could do it as well. It is a GREAT workout!

clips are fucking awesome. I don’t know the point of a hair clip except to clip hair but that’s okay because everybody needs to clip things sometimes. especially their nails because if they grow too long it gets really gross. nails are kinda pointless, except to protect the tips of your fingers. Is it really that necessary to protect such an unimportant part of the human body? Why isn’t our penis covered in nail? We need to protect that.

For three generations the men in my family always went to the same barber shop. By the time I got to know old George, he had a loose mat of Grey hair and a tired, wheezy laugh.

Are plastic. Thumpty thump down sidewalks of hard white. Greek tunes drift out from behind postcard racks. Coffee and cigarettes.

You are a gem to me. You will always have a place in my heart. YOu are the gem that is the sparkle in my eye. The only thing in life worth while. And for that I want to thank you.

Intuition right now is telling me you are avoiding me, and it hurts! I know she hurt you. I just want to help. I thought we were best friends. Find confidence in me.

I swayed to and fro as I sat in the swing. I tried to sway my family’s opinion on where to go on vacation this year. Obama needs to sway public opinion by doing instead of saying.

I was cold but that was not the problem. The problem was I could not see. It was all white and as such I had to walk by feel. This was probably going to mean that I would not make it because i had only gone this way 3 times before.
