railroad

I think of my uncle who is a conductor for the metro north railroad. He is the big man, who is gruff and almost rude. But on the inside he has a really big heart. He gives amzing hugs and engulfs you and I love him. He is a good person who loves his family and drives a train. He may not be the most normal or socially acceptable looking guy, but he is good at what he is and what he does. The best conductor I know.

flannel

The soft flannel of a warm pair of pyjamas is one the great wonders of winter. What’s the cold, heartless gleam of ice and the empty crackle of snow against the soft cuddle of flannel?

help

Help, the thing you do when you see an old woman crossing the street. Help the thing you do when you see another drop a stack of papers. Help the thing you do when you see a man starving in the street

cheek

I love to kiss my youngest daughter on her cheek. I don’t know what it is about them but they are always warm, soft & squishy. Totally kissable pink cheeks!

mist

In the shadows among the mist I saw him there lurking. My heart went wild with the curiosity of who might be standing there beyond that lung-concealing mist. As I made my way slowly over the the trees…I realized that I should have spent that time…running away.

vase

Her crystal vase was rarely used. But this morning she decided to rinse it out, and add roses from the overgrown bushes in her backyard. Today was already different.

commit

Impossible to commit to a beginning, she started at the end. Sam’s husband was found in bed one saturday morning still in his pajamas.

velvet

your voice was like velvet in my ears. smooth texture of your voice running through my mind at night. It’s more difficult than you know to get you out of my head, and I still can’t admit to myself that I think about you sometimes, and how much I loved your voice brushing against my face.

tide

She hated doing the laundry. Separating, folding, measuring. The never ending bottle of tide was always a heavy adornment on the top of her heaping basket.

revolt

I will revolt against time. I want to just fly back to a time where everything was so carefree, to a childhood where my dad was standing right next to me, to a time where everything was so beautiful and happiness was so tangible. I want to revolt against the future, to stay where I am now.

without

without love, I’d be nothing. Without happiness, life isn’t worth anything. Without hope, I’m not quite sure where I would be. I hold onto the littlest hope, but sometimes maybe being without it is just better. Maybe without hope I wouldn’t get hurt so often.

leap

When you leap off a cliff you don’t often think about what the consequences of your actions are going to be, you simply jump off. Not worried about what could possibly happen.

strung

Strung on a wire. Too tight to break. Violin strings breaking in a horror movie scene. Untie your laces and loosen your collar. Unstring your dizzy head.

lantern

I remember lanterns outside the houseboat. Dad was fishing under them. Lots of bugs. I dreaded the trips, but loved catching butterflies. I remember the bugs hitting the lantern and clicking to their deaths. I could hear him light the lanterns before dusk.

dress

I wore a dress on the day that I met him. He was friendly and kind, but just not the one. I knew that less than a minute later. The way he smiled, there was just something wrong. I couldn’t bear to imagine anything more than a few more minutes next to him. He was in fact the epitome of too good to be true.

reflex

natural, something that happens in response to a stimulus whether it be physical or emotional, knee-jerk reaction, golgi tendon organs and muscle spindles

» Posted By jenn On 05.17.2010 @ 10:47 pm

I have a hatred towards reflex tests they do at the doctor’s. One second you’re all “doo, doo doo..” in your head, and then, BAM! Dooctor hits you on the knee with a freaking sledgehammer kinda thing and your leg goes up. I’d love to see someone kick the doctor in the face. “Oops..well you did kinda hit my knee!”

lack

Lack there of? lacking? what am I lacking in my life? why should it be me that is lacking and why is that the cause of my lacking you as a boyfriend :( lol.. its not… and now you are lacking one very cute me…

Im lacking a potassium efficiency in my diet, and I am lacking of the will to eat that many freakin bananas…

I love the lack of perfection that is me. Which isn’t necessarily a lack… its an acceptance of being beautifully flawed.

subway

I sat on the subway and the wind whirled around me. The tracks were dark, and bloody. It was an absolute mess. I could already hear the police car sirens heading our way. It was time to rumble. And I was definitely not ready for any of it.

charge

I couldn’t take charge of the situation. He pressed against me, pulling my hair and spitting over his words. His hands and lips were vicious and mean-spirited. Everything he did to me hurt in a different way. He was in charge and he wasn’t going to play nice. I guess I deserved it though. I never said no.

solstice

This can happen in the summer or the winter, bringing about the longest AND the shortest days of the year. It’s like an antonym all in one word. A riddle if you will….which word is an antonym to itself? Solstice. Don’t witches and such find the solstice to be a special time, and doesn’t it mess with the tides?

wealth

i love money and i would love to have alot of it, but there is a part of me that just wants to be comfortable. if everybody in the world was rich, what would make this world go around? we wouldn’t work, we wouldn’t have struggles, it would be so easy. being wealthy is a benefit, but there can also be some downfalls as well.
