edge

I’m on the edge of glory…I was listening to Lady Gaga just now anyway. I know my friends are on an edge hiking and I should be too. Not on the edge of my life

The couch. That’s where it all happened. It was the comfiest place in the world too. But every time she looked at that couch, it all came back to her so fast, it was impossible to forget. That damn blue couch. She hated it. It was all in the past…or was it?

pouch

kangaroos have these to put their babies in and it reminds me of the movie I just watched this guy had a pouch in his suit to keep his pills
I’d like to climb in a pouch and curl up and sleep warmly and snug as a bug in a rug…why did i use that cliche? I wonder why I say certain things sometimes, I shouldnt care what others think. a pouch of tobacoo is gross
it’s ok though

elastic

It was too tight…way too tight. I tried to loosen it but it wouldnt work. I walked around school in agony with that elastic underwear clinging to my waste as if it was afraid to let go.

driving

i dont know how to drive…that was why i was terrified when i got behind the wheel and put the car in reverse. My heart was beating so fast and my breathing was shallow. I stepped on the gas and I help my breath while i slowly backed out of the driveway.

brick

She picked up the nearest thing she could find…It was a big red brick. It would work..it would do the job..she thought. She picked it up and hauled it through the window to break inside.

morals

a trait we all wish everyone had, which means you have a conscience and try to do the right thing always!

antlers

He wore antlers. Bright red ones, cheery-looking and made from felt. They did not quite reflect his mood, though; it was one of worry, laced now with a bit of relief. The man who stood in front of him, staring solemnly, would be able to fix everything. He just knew it.

failed

Somedays, failure seems inevitable. Most definitely an option, and probably already there. Pushing through those days can feel like climbing a mountain… but at least you’re going somewhere.

history

A brilliant place to visit. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Sometimes you’ve got to just jump right in, step on a few butterflies, and avoid high school dances.

intense

Running, running, running. My heart pounded in my ears as my feet slapped the pavement. They were gaining on me. And I could not let them catch me. Ever.

predict

A drumbeat sounded in the background. Slow and steady, adding to the already smoke-choked atmosphere. Oracles were fussy about those sort of details. The conditions had to be absolutely perfect, or so they claimed.

» Posted By carolyn On 06.20.2011 @ 7:10 pm

You can’t truly predict anything. You can only make the best guess from the facts you have.

held

She held her head up high. Rain water coursed down her face, mixing with the tears, but she did not let either one stand in the way of her dignity. Go down she might, but she would fall with her pride intact.

belief

wonderful, controversial. Not really sure what mine are. Confusing. Cause wars. Belief is the only thing that you can hold p to others. Other than that, people are the same. Its your beliefs that make you individual and who you truly are. Without them, you are nothing. You are just a bunch of facts smushed together with no purpose

Is is strong? Maybe. Yes? Or no. Where will it take you? How will it affect you? Will it help or hinder? Make strong, or weaken? But is that the belief… or you?

wonder

Today, I wondered about the people I heard speak. I wondered about the lives of the people who spoke of war and loss and dogs and loss and athletic competitions and loss. What were the things they were wondering about when they stood up to speak in front of us. What is a feeling associated with wonder that has to do with eyes opening.

Wonder filled the night sky. It was an awesome sight, full of stars and color and feelings of joy and completeness. Wonder made her whole. It kept her going, pushing the limits of space and time itself.

smile

One smile. That’s all it takes. Just one to turn a day around. Just one to lift a sour mood. Just one to remind someone that ‘hey, today’s not the end; there’s always tomorrow. And it just might be a whole lot better.’

train

The train of thought pulls slowly out of the dream-station. It picks up speed, meandering through the imagescape. Faster, faster than a speeding bullet, it flies.

station

The train pulled away from the station, starting off into the cool summer night. She wasn’t quite sure where she was going, or why; only that it was important. There were people counting on her. And she had no intention of letting them down.

embraced

He embraced the wind. It was the only thing he could do as it tore through the surrounding landscape. Fighting it was useless; all he could do was spread his wings, take off, and hope for the best.

beloved

The Beloved. Legend, myth, ghosts of time. Their existence was subject to much debate; evidence was almost nonexistent. But still they dwelt, waiting. Watching.

funeral

I don’t like funerals. I don’t imagine anyone does, but I… don’t know that I can finish this prompt. I don’t like funerals.

rise

Rise. And follow? Rise and shine? Or maybe rise and dream. Turn dreams from fantasy to reality. Chase those castles in the air as they gallop through the sky. Don’t touch the ground – keep your head up in those clouds.

teacher

He didn’t know what to do. In the past, he’d had days where it felt as though the whole world were against him. Everyone does. But those days seemed more frequent now.

» Posted By carolyn On 06.09.2011 @ 8:53 pm

I think teachers are the most important job in the world. And they most definitly don’t get enough credit for what they do. I mean they’re responsible for the world’s learning.. their growth and development which is what I learned (from a TEACHER ) is a requirement for something to be living. Imagine if teachers slacked off or taught us these crazy and radical ideals? Reminds me of ray bradbury :) THAT DEF LONGER THAN A MINUTE I KNOW YOU’RE THINKING IT ANYWAYS
