Such a beautiful montage of gorgeous photos. They’re of my friend’s wedding. From the future. The wedding is going to happen in a couple months, but we already have the photos from it. They were sent to us by some mysterious future dweller. No one seems to want to question this occurrence.

A snapshot of memories. A frame dusty in the corner crevice of the attic. Tucked away from sight as the memories flood the dusty floor boards and I think of you. We were kids back then, but so photogenic as if sweeping the dirt out the door with our smiles.

There are so many things that I remember. Sometimes I wonder if I have a photographic memory. It certainly feels that way sometimes. But then there are other times when I can’t recall any memories. It’s like there’s a switch in my head that someone else has control of, and they flip it whenever they feel like it.

SIdeburns can look good on the right guy. They have to have the right bone structure though, or otherwise, they’re just going to look awful. Some guys can pull off the “Civil War Soldier” look, and others can’t. It’s really no big deal, just means that the guys who can’t pull it off have to find the look that then can pull off.

That peppermint was way too strong. I don’t know what the manufacturers put in the ingredients for this batch, but WOW. This mint was 1000x more potent than any mint I’ve ever had before.

I drank out of the canteen as we were hiking over some unknown mountain. It was a very spontaneous trip, we honestly didn’t know where we were heading. It was at least 100 degrees outside though, and when I finished the last few drops of water in the canteen, I began to wonder if this trip was really such a good idea because I hadn’t seen any kind of water source for a few hours.

That man is such a thief, he stole everything from that store over there. You should have seen him caring the huge bag of stuff down the road. I was surprised when the bag he was hauling over he shoulder didn’t break and drop all the goods on the street. When the cops showed up, I was still dumbfounded about what I had saw.

I waver to complete this exercise. I would never sign a waver without reading it carefully, maybe I would even have my daddy read it too. I am not sure how else the word can be used and I’m fairly certain I’m wavering on the edge of failure for this exercise.

i went to summer camp. it was church camp. there was a pool with a brown wooden fence around it. i didn’t want to swim because I was self concious in my bathing suit. it was the only time i ever went to summer camp. it was fun, but I’ll never go again. it was co ed. there were no boys I liked. the food was pretty good. I can’t be creative at all right now, apparently.

laying on the beach, with a cold beer. the sun shining down on you in your swim suit. cuddling with a guy or a dog. looking at the stars at night. running in the sun. nice watches.

All I ever want in the summer is a glass of lemonade. Tall, with the sweat on the outside of the pitcher and the lemons sliced, floating, like you’d see in Southern magazine photographs. Yellow like the sun, golden like the color of my youth. Swim in the creek, catch crayfish and chase birds all day, and come home to a mother bringing out freshly made lemonade. There’s no better joy than that.

i am an alumnae to a group that i joined in college. many people think of sororities as nothing more then drinking and sleeping around but that is not what i learned from the group of woman that now i call my sisters. they taught me that many people judge by the cover and dont take long to truly get into the book. I learn to be caring and compassionate and to always be someones someone when they are in need.

i step onto the stage. the lights beat down on me and the music starts. my hands shake a little as i step into the spot light, and begin to sing. i belt, i cry, i smile and finally end the song with a hIGH c and the crowd erupts into applause; my night is made.

bumble bees. bumble beea are awesome in that they are essentially mindless. they operate soley for the benefit of the hive….the best communitsts ever. it’s so cool that they can always find their way back home. perhaps we should think about acting more like them. communism isn’t all bad, it’s just hte people who abuse it…like stalin. stupid stalin.

Under the rug. Under the waves. Swept into a pile left on the floor to step in as I traverse from room to kitchen to room to kitchen to door. I track the dust through the halls marking my path. Where I’ve been. Where I have yet to go.

If I had control, would I used it? Give it away? Harvest it like wheat in the fields and bring it down like the scythe to cut up the grains. An iron first upon the table. Control to take and take and take. Or control to give and gain and replenish. Would I use it for good or evil?

sage is a color, sort of a green one at that. it’s also an herb or a spice that can be used to cook with. I also believe that it’s a plant, like sage brush. i once knew a girl named Sage. She was crazy, but i found her kind of interesting and entertaining.

when the alarm goes off, it’s too much
i just want to stay in bed
sleep more
is it my school alarm
my work alarm
or an alarm waking me up for a fun day out
regardless, it is not fun
it is not happy
it is waking me from slumber
never enough sleep
never enough
i just want to stay in this world for a little longer
in this in between
but the alarm
forsakes me

furnace, well man, i like it. it’s all warm and, furance like, you know. Come home from work, school, a long day – what have you, and open the door, shut the door. throw everything on the floor and sit on the furnace. hm, cozy.

I didn’t even know this game we were playing had a set of rules.

I love summer… I love eveything about it.
The smell of fresh grass,
The flowers that are in their prime.
Spending time with my siblings outside…
All of the sunlight that I can ask for.
The hot days, the cool nights…
A Perfect balance.

A measure of a life’s worth. Or is it? I am beginning to doubt the almighty power of success. Doubt its ability to make one person’s existence seem worthwhile. And then there is the elusiveness of it. What really is success? And can others judge it, or is it in the eye of the individual?

En route
beyond the mountains, laying
buried in the valleys as
they topple the landscape
crushing in on itself
unsure what wave to ride
out next.
Looking back, I ask,
where am I going?
Then consider: does it matter?
I’ll get somewhere eventually.

“I wish… more than anything… more than life…” Ever seen Into the Woods with Bernadette Peters? I watched it in a theater class and instantly fell in love. I’m not talking love in the mushy gushy sense, but love as in a life-changing, my-life-would-not-be-complete-without-it sense. Act I closes with a “they all lived happily ever after” while ACT II begins with “Yeah, right, dream on Disney losers.”

In band class curved in endless rows of chairs facing the pivotal source of instruction, my hands turn black. Clasped around the slim neck of my mother’s flute with my fingers hovering over the sticky keys, I glance down and notice the distinct color. My hands tarnished by the forty-year-old instrument weathering years of floating melodies and dust-flecked auditoriums as millions of eyes stared out. They knew.

If only such a thing existed. I used to think it did when I was younger. As a supremely superstitious child, I would avoid certain activities that I did before I got sick or had a bad day. I did not wear this one shirt for a year because I threw up at school the day I happened to be wearing it.

I read this book years ago cover to cover about Greek Gods, Demigods and Demons. It was actually a thrilling read although it was written as an encyclopedia. I find it vastly interesting that there are other religions where gods are not perfect although they are still historical in nature to the time period.

Something is right in front of you. Reach out and grasp it. The shape is familiar. You’ve seen it before. Just feel it in your hand and turn it over to feel its contours. What is it? Well, isn’t it obvious?

She kent at the alter
cold tears on her cheek
puddling on the cold wood.
nothing could bring him back.

her pain, tears.
nothing could open is cold blue eyes.

A hand touched her back,
a friend of his.
kneling by her at the alter.

He put his cold hand on her.
keeping the connection.

furry and cute, eats carrots, easter bunny, poops eggs, kills all the flowers in your garden, stinks like shit and runns around in cages if their a pet to someone, is absolutely insane in some children’s book i used to read, i think it’s a vampire bunny or something.

Today is Halloween and I really don’t understand. Vampires, werewolves, where did it all come from? Of course, imagination is the key, right? But where in the world did we find fangs appropriate? Has anyone ever really spotted a vampire? Or does one make up this stuff for shits and giggles? Either way, it’s Halloween. Be safe and have fun. Oh yeah, don’t get bitten!
