I never did learn how to do a headstand. As a little girl I was terrified of looking stupid when I failed. I thought people would care. Now I know better. But it worries me that I will fall down and hurt myself. I traded in one fear for another. It's sad really, the insecurities I was raised with. They were meant to protect, but are only a shell.

i fell off my bed slightly and noticed the ceiling above me. the world sure looks different when you're upsidedown. I'm always afraid taht one day gravity will reverse itself (maybe on opposite day) and taht we will go flying upwards, the only thing stopping me from flying endlessly to my death would be this thin ceiling. I proceded to make myself try and do a handstand and failed miserably. at least i know that gravity s still doing its job.

I've pretty much always been able to do a headstand. Once, my friends and I were practicing gymnastics in the yard, headstands and walkovers and stuff, and I fell over onto Megan and bit her arm. Her grandmother freaked out and washed it out as if I had rabies or something. That was the same summer that they had that waterslide in their back yard and I always almost killed myself on it.

Doing a headstand is a rather impressive feat of anyone for any age to do. Sustaining it is an even harder ability. It requires a lot of skill, balance, and of course, flexibility for someone to be able to do a headstand. Usually it takes a person of a younger age to do so, but not always.

The headstand is a marvel of acrobatic and flexibility. Many wonder how the handstand was originated, many wonder why people felt the need to stand on their heads. Personally, I don't like handstands as they make me dizzy. Some people like to do handstands all the time, while others prefer to stand on their own two feet. I like watching people do handstands. It is always fun to watch people try.

This was very relaxing. One day it came to him; life is not about income. Life is about freedom and expression. He took his new life style and began walking upright. He began reseeing the world he'd come to expect to offer things in a different orientation.

A headstand is a pretty simple move. You rotate yourself upside down, and let your weight fall down on to your head. It works best if you have a strong neck and arms, as well as a keen sense of balance. Also be sure to wear appropriate clothing (skirts and cleavage-showing dresses don't work well). Thanks.

When the boy left with his parents, I walked over to the nurse, and asked her to play with me. She agreed, and asked me what I wanted to play. I told her I had always dreamed of being a cheerleader, and asked her if she wanted to help me practice. She smiled, and asked me if I knew how to do a headstand. Never having the opportunity to practice, I told her no. She smiled wider, and, to my complete shock, did a perfect headstand. I clapped my hands and cheered her on, and when she finally got back onto her feet, I ran over and hugged her. After that, she spent half an hour teaching me how to do a headstand. After I had successfully done one, another nurse came in. She seemed shocked to see a little girl doing headstands. She asked me where my parents were, and why I was unsupervised. what the hell is a headstand???? i know what a handstand is .... oh. right. so essentially a handstand on your head???? gosh doesnt that hurt? i know when guys breakdance and do the move where they spin around on their heads, they tend to wear helmets (unless they're comedians who like hurting themselves). so a headstand puts so much pressure on your head that it gives you a huge bruise under your hair. jesus. i wouldn't do it anytime soon. but i know people who would especially if they're drunk. definitely drunk. maybe even not drunk. i don't know. what's going on????? why isn't this thing stopping like it's supposed to???

It was a windy day; there could be no disputing that... not ideal weather for a scaffolder, but there was bills to be paid. One zealous gust was all it took; 3 stories was enough for Jim to become a once living sculpture, as the cement dried on his last headstand. The bills would remain unpaid.

Indignant societal views about the headstand leave it compromised forever. It's seen as something a pranster only does, contortionists, and the like continue to see it as a means necessary for their trickery- but it is only an illusion. in fact, every headstand is actually how you SHOULD stand, we just haven't been able to come to terms with it yet.

A headstand is when a person stands on their head. It takes both balance and practice to perform this feat, a feat of no real intrinsic value. Most politician try to perform this feat to impress people with their inherent ability to both balance their approach to situations and to show their ability to practice difficult feats. I have never seen a politician who could successfully perform a headstand without cheating. The Bush administration is constantly trying to perform headstands, balancing religious issues with a desire to please a nation of predominately Christians while at the same time show a strong diverse nation that it understands and adheres to the rights of religious minorities. In this area it is failing as do all political movements that proclaim they are fighting evil. One cannot fight evil and at the same time use adherence to a fundamentalist religious believe system. It is neither logical or practical, to claim one religion superior to another. To do so pre-empts that one must be inferior.

When I was a child I could so do a headstand, but because Iam from Scotland, we call them handstands, but in this case you balance on your head, funny thing is though when you're a child, you dont have flab everywhere, and your coordination is so good, but when your an adult, well that all goes out the window, but it was so cool to be able to do that, I was so proud of myself, if only I could do it now, but I would fall over or get a headache, or break my back or something, which would not be a good thing, children are so carefree and fearless, doing a headstand is fun and a bit show offy as well, but that's what you like when you're a kid

interresting thing to do a hheadstand - all the blood runs up or rather down to your head and then you feel a kind of swelling in youur eyes - after a while it starts to hurt and bits ot you start to feel prettty weird - people swear it is good for them but i dont believe it - still i like to do them in a masochistic kind of way but better still is to convince opther people to do them in the hope that i wont feel so silly when the compulsion over comes me - if i could stop doing headstand i would but in the end im a kind of addict and i guess as addisction sgo its a fairly harmless one - remember to keep a soft towel to coil up and place ont he ground if you are goin gto go for a particularly ong head stand otherwise you will wear all the hair off the top of your head
