circus

[Bizzarro]
the only time I see elephants is at the circus ...not my dad though he sees them every time he has a drink and then he yells at them ... I also dont see penguins ...he does ... I don't want to be like him ...pass me a drink ...

[HobbesOxon]
cars pounding hot tarmac, meetings, appointments, reviews, colloquia. organised, disorganised, up-to-date, out-of-control. stop the circus. let the breeze in. look up at the sky and open your heart, clean out that old world.

Why is my school a circus? Since when did Nick learn to breathe fire and Shelley learn to juggle knives! Oh my god! Its a freakin' tiger with a spike pleather collar on being walked by Mark on stilts. What school did I walk into? Oh wait, god, its just a dream.

three rings found under the eyes including the one in the middle of the forehead that is supposed to see all but really, since mine is sun burnt beyond belief right now, i doubt it can see anything and even now as i smirk a little, the creases in the skin of my face pull and sting and i want to cry but that would just stretch the pink in a whole new world of ways that i just can't handle right now.

i went to the circus when i was a kid and the smell of the animal shit was just terrible and the clowns were as funny as broke leg. Never liked the circus and this has helped dredge up some memories that i'd rather forget.

everytime i see the word 'circus' it reminds me of when i was younger...growing up in manchester, nh the circus came once every ten years or so...this particular time my sister went with me, and at one point a giraffe drooled on her head...it was probably on of the funniest things i've ever seen

i don't like. there are clowns and people, too many people. it's not beautiful, not subtle - i want elegance. i want saint petersburg. my love. my russia.

Cirque du soleil wasn't all that good for me. Gah. I don't know where to go with circus. I'm scared of clowns. How typical. I typed clones instead of clowns there before. I guess I'm scared of clones too. Sorta. At least they'd be a bit more interesting and scifi-ish. I mean what are clowns anyway? Almost funnies?

If I lived in a circus, it would be quite the circus to see. It would be an invisible circus, with monkeys and lions so small, you couldn't see them. I want to take you to the circus with me.

clowns are here. they like it. always laughing. hmm. big nosies. mose people are scared of clowns. mye x was. was talking to her today. i think she is buff. argh. girlfriends always on my mind. got lots of crushes etc. pretty horny. need not to be. i like the circus

so there was this little boy and he loved the world, he loved the grass he loved the trees he loved the sky he loved the little pink flamingo sitting in front yard. long story short, he went to the circus and a fat clown insulted him. He became a mean old man who blew things up for a living. moral= dont go to the circus

i hate the circus - clowns freak me out they are just wrong happy on the outside - sad on the inside just piss off! dammit. acrobats are cool tho and elephants

ahh the media is the first circus that comes to mind... covering the clowns, the antics of a show gone awfully wrong, the tool of the people misrepresenting the tools of the people...

life is a circus. take today for istance, it began with a phone call in the middle of the morning. I'm sleeping souldly. Who would have known that the day would start out in center ring?

I went to the circus when I was younger. I didn't like it much. Especially those with animals. It's mean to keep animals caged up and use them just for entertainment.

This place is turning into a circus. You should see the women and men in their uniforms. Their all smiles, looking sharp and standing tall. We graduate today. We've finally made it. Here we are standing in front of our parents, peers, friends, and instructors to say we earned these badeges and these berets.

I ran into the big tent and found myself staring into the eyes of some angry seals. I knew it had been a mistake to steal their fish, but what was I supposed to do? I'd been on the run from the mob for a week now, with barely any time to eat or sleep. As the seals advanced on me, I knew I'd made a huge mistake. At least the mob never got me.

Mama's taking me to the circus today, to see the tigers because I like tigers. They're so puh-rit-ty. But I would not like one as a pet like lily does because i know that they are dangerous, right mama?

i'm such a great dancer...so good, in fact, that i could be a circus grrl. that's right...i got it goin' on.

[Ryan Waring]
I went to the circus a few months ago with my daughter. it was her first time there, and the first time I could actually remmeber going. It was mostly what I had expected amazing feats and overprized cotton candy, but it was a fun time. She really enjoyed it.
April 11, 2006 10:56 AM

[skitch]
i havn't been to a circus in more than a decade. hence, i don't remember much of it, its mostly blurred images of elephants and clowns. i'm not a huge fan of the concept of a circus, it's never seemed like it would be that much fun i prefer fairs, personally.

The big tops sway in the wind; the wind makes it impossible to perform today. Instead the elephants take a siesta and the fat woman a bath. She is being watched by the swordsman, who secretly desires her ample flesh.

washington dc...white house...deadly circus...surrounds the planet...
April 11, 2006 11:22 AM

the funny thing about the circus is that it doesn't stay around very long. like somehow it knows that it is only valuable as a memory. there are no permanent city circuses like symphonies or operas. the circus hides its shame through constant escapism. which is what makes it the perfect place for me to hide.
April 11, 2006 11:28 AM

[centaur]
there's something kind of mystical about it, I guess, not in a cirque du soleil kind of way, but really. All these performers who do all sorts of amazing things, flying high above the ground, and clowns, who seem to be not people exactly but half people there behind there makeup. It's like aparallele universe or somehting.

i used to be in the circus. jumping around entertaining others. the focus on me..just because i was a freak. ode to the days of the freak. no longer am i that circus clown. i've hidden my identity. and now i live among the norm. i am ...average......

"What the hell is this?" The boss stormed through the office, down the aisle as everyone froze and stared, heads turning to follow his march and eventual pause practically against me, hell, forget practically, his extending gut rubbing against mine as his brow furrowed and mouth tightened. I blew the noise making in his face and smiled. He was not amused.

[Patty Simcox]
A circus of dreams. Look, there.. on the wire.. my heart stays dangling for the crowd to see. A little boy pointing and laughing. My smile, an attempt of desperation to gain some sort of pity. A circus of lost hope. A circus of tears drowning every joy of the acrobats by consuming every fear of the audience. This is why as children we were amused by such 'arts and trades,' and as adults.. we spit in the faces of such folly. A circus of dreams becomes a circus of reality ...and what fun is that?
April 11, 2006 12:36 PM

[tone]
A circus is a place of excitement and mystery. Of adventure and fright. Lions roar and acrobats soar. A truly enlightening and uplifting experience
April 11, 2006 12:53 PM

[M.Nguyen]
A happy screech. Glitter, gitz. Glamour. Stripes and checkers and all things fab-u-lous. An amazing sight, a breath taking one. Pulling the air straight from your lips, a gloved ring-master's hand reaching down your throat and into your lungs. Can't take the excitement, drowning in the passion of the magic working. The illusion overcomes all reality, and for a moment, you-- are-- lost.

I used to go to the circus with my family. I pretended not to be afraid of the clowns, but they were pretty creepy. But my favorite part was the elephants. They were fun to watch, and not as scary as the lions and tigers. I always wanted to ride them, but I was too chicken. Those things are tall. So cool, though. Yeah.

April 11, 2006 01:30 PM

[molly]
My life is quite the circus. I miss when things were easy, the tightrope walker never stumbling. It used to be like the clowns coming out in their electric cars, the novella with the red nose and the red rose and the balcony but she never fell. Now my life is the lion tamer, never sure if the chair will hold back those teeth, those claws. My life is the guy in charge of the spotlight when the drunk clown comes on, stumbling all out of choreography. How would you like to live at the circus?
April 11, 2006 01:32 PM

[Sarah]
when i was little my mom and dad will take us to the circus. it was great fun! we always had cotten candy, and loved petting the animials. i love the circus so much! i wanna go back.
April 11, 2006 01:34 PM

[Lauren]
If I owned a circus my favorite part about it would be the lions. I've always wanted to be a lion tamer, even though the lions that you're training could go rabid on you and tear you limb from limb. In my mind, being a lion tamer would be the coolest job on this planet. In fact, if I weren't going to be a business woman that's what I would be.

Circuses are filled with animals. The animals are scared, lonely and in terrible conditions. They put on a show for unknowing families - unknowing of the terrible cruelty the poor beasts have to suffer every day. These places humiliate animals and should not be allowed.

a big tent with shows going on. clowns, elephants, crowds and kids. dusty place. People dressed funnily with lots of make up. Feel sorry for them, I hope they were doing okay in life. I am sure they miss their family.

We're all going to the circus. A three ring circus. Gimme a ring, we'll go to the circus. We'll see the lions etc. and the clown, oh I love the clowns with their noses and their little hats. And those shoes.... Clowns aren't always funny though

The circus came to town today, with a parade of musclemen, sexy trapeze artists, a female tiger-tamer and her striped entourage, a ringmaster who had no mustache but did have the top hat and three-piece suit, the fortune tellers, the sideshows, and what-all. I resolved that I would take it in, as I haven't been to a really good one

circus epiphany the school had one one time i heard that someone was buried alive, ive seen the french circus, some call it a textbook others not so much. a circus could be interesting if it was not so clowny, more interestingly surreal, we know that its hard to swing from ropes but not that hard, and clearly not impossible, more surreal needed. circus circle curse. hm.

Circus dancer, spinning 'round, grinning at me with wide red faces. The lights are blinding. People say this is the best way to spend your time, but when you're falling off the edge of a cliff and you realise you've forgotten how to fly their screams can say something different. I don't know what their problem is, the view's great. And I get to feel weightless! What jollity.

there are clowns everywhere. I mean everywhere. And sometimes, when I'm upset about something, I go there to talk to one, because only they understand what it's like to feel like you're alone... truly alone... a spectacle, hardly, more like a temporary pleasure. Something dead.

So a week later the guy came back and offered me seventeen thousand dollars to brush his teeth for him twice a week. i said sure, but little did i know it was just a sting for an un

Oh boy... welcome my friends to the show that never ends. I hate the circus. It is so boring and unbearably predictable. Lions and tigers hump each other and pretend to eat the heads of tamers. Elephants climb on each other and make loud noises. Everything is so gaudy and over done. And EXPENSIVE. But whatever. It's the circus. It's supposed to be fun.

I was a young boy when I first heard about a circus that came to town. Acutally not a town it was more a village. In Korea, that's wehre I'm from, the circus consisted of strange strong man stunts and fire breathers, all housed in greasy and dingy tents, filled with cigarette smoke and soju vapors.

It has rings, like marriage or Saturn, but is noisy. Wait, so is marriage. I don't know about Saturn. Although some Saturn automobiles might be noisy, if the muffler ain't right or the tunes are good. I never did like the circus, even as a child. Making animals do tricks? They should be out running around. Clowns? Kinda creepy. Acrobats? I worry for them. Maybe that's me not seeing the joy in it? Nah, I see joy in plenty. It's OK to have opinions. To not like the circus. Now excuse me: this lady's got to go shave her beard.

that place was a real circus...people falling over each other trying to get at the the superstar, to get her autograph. She pushed through them nonchalantly as if she didn't care but she really did care. She adored the praise while ignoring the fans and pretending she didn't. Maybe there was no point in trying to disguise her lust for fame, she was famous already. She could easily pass on the trappings of fame...the friendlessness, the insecurity when your world is built of sand. Not know who your friends are, who the stalkers are. After a while you forget who you are. You become the famous person you are, you become the fame. You look in the mirror and see a picture from a magazine or the big screen. It's a stranger but someone so familiar. Your old friends are gone. The new ones are vague in intention. The possibilities for you life become a PR business plan...your closest companions a political move. But the solitude can be unbearable for those who fear loneliness....but for those that crave it, it is utter bliss.

What a time. It was a beautiful day and little Jamie didn't want to do anything. She was entirely shook up by what had happened. Her little 5 year old world had come crumbling down around her. How could this have happened. How could the circus not have come to town.

Of no rededemption.

Last year the word circus came up. I talked about how my life felt like a circus, with my family the loud and obnoxious spectators, criticizing my every trick and movement. And now, a year later, I still feel the same. Funny thing, how life seems to go in the same direction, like a treadmill that you run and run and run on but never get anywhere. I'm running as fast as I can yet staying in the same place. Always staying in the same place.

It is funny how things make sense as you get older. Three ring circus has its name because there are three rings. In one ring the lions, in one the announcer and in yet another the elephants do their thing. I think I am against the circus now. I would go to it. In fact, I find the amount of people and type of entertainment outright frightening when I think about it. I don't like this feeling.

the circus filled with lots of tiny dots prancing around like the animals that they are... though they didn't necessarily realize it. i stood and watched this in amazement, me being an animal myself, yet aware, was quite enlightening overall. if a bit painful... it happens.

Circus clowns clowning around. Big mouth, big smile welcome us all with their comical frown. The sad ones, funny ones all basking around. - I think I went out of point. Isn't this suppose to be about circus? Ah well..

The circus of my life is the jumping through hoops I go through every day. There has to be a brighter spot for me to jump towards, instead of some guy with a whip telling me what to do.

The buzz and rush grew louder and louder around her. She shook her head; it got louder. She closed her eyes; it got louder. She wanted to scream; she opened her mouth when it got even louder - but then a million bees swarmed past her, down the aisle, to the center ring of the circus, and they began spelling out words like "Hello" and "The Spelling Bees of Kasheshevitz". Instead of screaming, her mouth hung open, her eyes beamed, and she whooped and clapped.

The large tent billowed slowly in the wind. The brightly coloured little flag atop the main peak waved fiercely, seeming to announce its presence with a joyful exuberance. the spring sunshine lit the field with a warmth at odds with the slightly sharp wind, which carried the sounds of the performers and the animals as they finished pitching the big top. The big top. Two ordinary word which when put together created a new world of exotic excitement, a world so close and yet alien to our ordinary lives.

the circus is a fun place for Dad's to take their children. I went with my dad once to the Barhnam and Baily circus and we saw the moving statues. That was really stupid, but the rest was alright. I got popcorn and got to ride the elephant. But I was 8 so that was cool then,

elephants and clowns rolling amongst the laughter of small children who neither realize nor care the cruelty of the fun before them. animals torn from their environment and men in silly shoes with no respect.

Circle. Circles. We run and we run and we never realize how lost we really are. I take one thing that leads to another and I do it again. You take my heart just as I give it and it never ends. Circles. We run and we hide but we never find anything except the places we've aleady gone.

there was a new circus in town and there was a lot of excitment and expectation in the air and i promised mchildren that i would take them to it. that opened the pandora's box for me. each day morning they would wake up in the hope that today we would all be going to it and i could not keep my promise to them as i was up to my neck in work. i gave up and conceded to my wife taking them to it finally. they had had a good time and rushed home to tell me all about it; only my youngest daughter remained silent so i took her on my lap and asked whether she had enjoyed seeing all the animals in the circus; she replied , ''yes daddy i loved the circus but i missed you there especially when i saw the daddy clown playing with his little son in clown costume. I wish you too had been there , daddy.'' sometimes we just forget to play and make time for our little ones , too caught up in making money and material things for them. sometimes all they want is our time !
