i really think i love yarn because it is so option-ful. ok so that's totally lame. but really, you can do just about anything with this stuff. from knitting scarves to making a toy for your cat, you can tie somebody up and suffocate them or you can make one of those dreamcatchers. kickass. mothafucka. ;) brupupup

[oh just shut it]
my roommate sucks. or one of them does. she is the biggest cuntfucker i've ever known. i want to yell at her and then cut her throat what i bland piece of gap old navy wearing piece of shit. i want her to get pregnant so i can just sit and laugh at her and not even pretend to notice. my other roommate has chronic stomach problems and this horrible little whore doesn't even act sympathetic. oh and she has a dry vagina. this has nothing to do with the word. i just felt like ranting really really hatefully.

I could tell a yarn or two about yarn. I would but I know nothing about it. With this word, I feel all bound up like a kitten. Yarn, I guess is a renewable resource... though it is strange to be wear the shaven hair of another beast. Kind of like wigs I think... only from sheep. Except... with yarn, it keeps us warmer... rarely sexier... unless you are a girl wearing cashmere.

spin a yarn. this envisages times of old. women with warts, funny noses and pointed hats. it could refer to blatant liars. young, mischievious children with freckles. it refers to the three women: maidmother and matron cuttingthread over a cauldron. its the yarn of time, life and death etc.

I knew the weather is cold . And I have a nice sweater knitted from yarn in my wardrobe but I didn't bother to bring it out with me . I mean , I prefer to be hugged by my boyfriend rather than wearing a sweater . The formal makes me feel warm inside out . The latter ... well , it's just a lot of yarn knitted together .

She ran her fingers over the yarn, wondering how it would feel against her naked skin, all of her naked skin. She held the skein to her nose, inhaled the unique scent. She repeated this over and over until she reached the end of the aisle, and then she left the store, her basket empty.

I usually yarn when I'm in the back cleaning out my trash, the yard yarns and it's all sweet and it could also be when I'm selling milk to my dear beloved friends who have cows that talk. Yarn could also be the way galaxies form ontop of eachother, togheter crawling and sprawling a creation yarning to success over mankind. That's it! Thanks.

The spinning of a good yarn is a skill nearly lost these days. The yarn must be gripping, holding the attention of the listeners. Let me tell you about what happened the other day...

Oh, that was a good one. You know, the part where the guy lost his foot and laughed and stuff? And then the dog came along and got the foot and ran off and the guy, stumbling after it, trying to catch up, bleeding all over the place. And that lady that slipped in the blood and broke her hip and everyone laughed and one guy had a heart attack from laughing? Oh, whew, what a story.

We spun a yarn so fantastic and unlikely. the time passed and the yarn became near reality, life was new and quite possibly the greatest it had been. the fates' cut was clean and quick.

last year at a conference for work we did an activity where you said something & threw a ball of yarn across the table to another person, who then said something & threw it to the next person. in the end we had these webs showing us everything is connected. i don't think i really got the message... so it goes.

I love yarn. I knit and crochet and yarn sales are very dangerous to me. I come home with a cascade of colors for projects that I haven't even planned yet then search for space on my shelves among all of the half done/started/planned projects that are all waiting for my attention.
April 13, 2006 10:35 AM

[Joe Varisco]
And so it all takes place like that. I little bit at a time it all begins to unwind until all that is left is string after string laying on the floor. Until the entire ball is gone and does not exist anymore and every connection made henceforth goes lame and broken and empty that is what happens when it all breaks down.

My mother knits with yarn. I tried once. But wasn't very good. I like yarn with sparkles in it. Or that is really soft. Pink or green or teal. I also like yarn with crazt strings sticking out of it. It is hard to make yarn. You must have mad skill.

if i could tie your mouth up with yarn, i would. i'd be nice, though. i'd use the extra soft stuff that is commonly used for baby blankets. i'll even get the rainbow colored yarn. i'll make it look purdy, don't worry..nobody will even notice, unless you bite it off!

I used to make little yarn dolls when I was a little girl. We had this tiny house - a play house - that I would sit in and make these little dolls. I made lots of them, even if no one else wanted them. Sometimes they did. I learned it as a Brownie when I was still a girl scout. I wish I knew how to make them still. They were cute.

"Spin a yarn" ... that's a cliche, now, isn't it? Makes one think of the farm house and grandma with her knitting needles and patterns laid out. Makes one think of the good times in years past (that probably never really existed) and of a simpler way of life that just felt better than the factual miasma of tangled circuits and electronic parts we are today.

i used to make bracelets when i was a kid, braiding all sorts of different colored yarns together, weaving in beads at regular intervals, or maybe just in the center. i had a whole tub of beads, and they were organized into little compartments. i wonder what happened to all those things. i just remember that one day, the yarn ran out.

Yarn can sometimes be a ball of wool. It can also be random stories people tell about nothing in particular. Both are fabricated, of indefinite length and come in very handy in tricky situations. Liek for example, pubs...or tying shoe laces...or ...

Red yarn and green yarn and yellow yarn. The small girl played with a lock of her doll's hair-- red yarn. She gently touched a felt-blushed cheek, yellow yarn wrapped around a styrofoam ball. She absently touched the doll's green yarn dress, and then moved a small hand to her own tattered one. Yarn.

a ball of string that cats play with or that you use to sew things. Usually grandmothers are known to carry them around in their purses. Also, they come in all sorts of colors and textures...thin...thick...yello...green...blue.... and cats play with them a lot as well. I said that already :)
April 13, 2006 02:04 PM

I can't find the common thread, she said. You know that piece of string, the yarn that will stitch all the patches of my life together. Or, she looked up pontifically, maybe I just can't find the end of the yarn..and it's wrapped all around me. Maybe I'm just strung.

Don't know what yarn is, so... it'll be a little too difficult for me to write anything about it. English not beeing my first language, there's not much to ask or complain about, right? I could try a vindication of "the meaning of life", but... what the hell!!!

Yarn makes fuzzy things happy when the rain falls sideways onto the dogwood bloms. When the kitten eats the yarn very colorful visions apear in his dreams. Yarn makes the world go around and around. "Why?" you may ask...that my friend is a question you must ask the cat once he returns from the holy land with knitting needels?
April 13, 2006 02:48 PM

[Chris]
Yarn is nice and soft. It reminds of kittens. I've never been able to have a cat, or any pet, in fact. My mother always thought I was too irresponsible to take care of a pet, and I'm going to have to admit that she is right. >_< Yarn also makes clothes, but I don't like to wear them because they make me itch.

yarns are stories. long tall tales that bore all of us. Yarns are the worst things I can possibly think of. I hate yarns, and I always will, and the second I turn 35 I'm running for congress. and shuting those bastards down.

I spin a yarn, a tale of deceit so close to my heart that I have no other choice but to take what I have written and move it around the information waves until I make it real, tangible. What a yarn I weave.

if i had yarn i would strangle a cat and then pray for its soul. but it would be too late because the cat's mind is gone, it's appreciation is absent, it's desires are ended, it doesn't care that i am praying for it. i only want it to be alive in vein filled glory.

telling a story is something for family. Something you do to pass the time, but something that stands outside of time itself. What do you tell, what can't you tell. I wish my grandfather would tell more of them.

A ball of yarn rolls down the stairs onto the sidewalk across the street through the coffee shop. It is seen by no one. No one questions the bright colors of the multi-colored ball as it makes its course through the neighborhood. No one thinks about the differences around them. No matter how insignificant.

There is a strong sense of fidelity in my friend's family. There is love, to be sure, but it is only one of the fibers that bind them together. They are held together, moreso, by fear, anger, and a deep and abiding sense of entrapment. It is this that is the yarn that has spindled around the five members so totally.

it is stringy it is cottony. Yarn is the essence of beauty and it is the essence of life. Without yarn, there would have been no southern slavery, and there would have never been freedom from it. Yarn winds and unwinds the earth like the chiming of a persistent clock: it knows no beginning, no end. Yarn is everything and it is nothing.

Yarn is used to make scarves, gloves and other nifty things by grandmothers and people with to much time on their hands. Cats like to play with yarn although I am unsure as to whether MY cat does since we've never given him the chance. I once tried to make a carpet using yarn but failed, so my mum finished it for me. Then it got stolen when we moved. Yarn...

I thought about it for a while. I couldnt understand her need to click away with thoses knitting needles. She said it made her relax. I suppose it must have, as she always looked so peaceful. She would have me sit for hours holding my hands 'just so' as she wound the yarn deftly around my waiting hands. I didnt mind. It wasnt work for me. The stories she would tell with me sitting at her feet would sweep me away to a time barely remembered for her, and never experienced by me.

It was sticking out of the ground, a big piece like a wick, and we all thought if we dug deep enough, we'd find where it ended. But, see, it didn't end. We followed the yarn, the oversized yarn, for miles and miles as it wound its way between latitude and longditude lines, and after a few years of this, we got to thinking: what if this place called earth, well, what if was the yarn? It was then that we feared the cosmic cat.

String a ball of anything together and see if you can get the kitty to jump at it, chase it, paw and play it. Is he interested? Is he intrigued? Is he challenged? Is your ball playing him out to the very end, leading him around unexpected corners? Or is it just a ball of yarn?

Yarn is something that you knit with. It's something that you use to create clothes and socks and mittens. It's something that eventually transforms into something that keeps you warm. Kitten play with it -- bringing to mind warm, fuzzy feelings and images of kittens frolicking and stumbling over balls of yarn. Now what's up with that? Yarn -- it sounds really weird. It's weird. Yaaarrrrn. Yarrrrn. Can be a cuss word. Yarnit!

I once told a long, long story, some would call it a tale, but others may choose to opt for that gem of language, yarn. Representing either a stringy, soft substance of knitting circle fame, or that most interesting of stories. Either way, it's something to love.

Oh the laughter - her obsession, here in the black and white of the just-loaded webpage. Such angular letters for so curly a word. Yarn. It rolled off the tongue like a ball across the floor. The atoms of socks and sweaters and scarves, the joy of creation all from two sticks and a constant "shnick, shnick" - yarn. (For you, Jodie :-)

Spinning, spinning, spinning, she was so obsessed with her old guilt and lack of self esteem she never stopped. You couldn't rely on her to tell the truth even if she were attached to the biggest lie detector. Its a shame to know that your own mother can't be trusted, that her memories of events are dubious shadows... Go figure, we love them anyway, and we ourselves aren't perfect...

It was told my myself, and to you. It was told so you wouldn't recognize me, the boy and man. It's so hard to tell the truth. It's everything. It's there if we can find the courage to use it. Then what? I guess we'll see. Happiness and sadness is within our grasp. Yarn this.

Sit with me a moment, and I will spin you a tale. These are the stories of your past, of the ancestors that proceeded you, and of the destiny you wore born unto. Perhaps, you shall find in this a road that diverges from the rest, perhaps you shall find comfort in knowing that your plight is not as exact as it seemed.

It was an old tale, one told by an old man sat in the corner of a deserted pub. Few heared it, fewer still beleived it. But above all, it was a tale that never ended. It grew with each passing second, each minute, each, day, each year, until it was monstrous.

yarn is the story i get told, the messages that get passed on in stories that go on and on. I like a good yarn, it spins and winds and tells its secrets under it all. There are good yarns and better yarns. I like the simple yarn. I prefer yarns about the past. you can't really yarn about the future. The future isn't a yarn...
