insult

[esther]
Insult is human nature. We always irritate each other. We wanna hurt and to be hurted. That's all.

[osquer42]
Adding injury to insult, she slapped him across the face. Her palm making a loud fish-belly smack on his cheek, wet from the drink she'd poured over him only a moment earlier. "I'll take that as a no," he sighed, mopping himself off with his handkerchief.

I felt so insulted! I couldn't believe she said that to me. My immediate reaction was anger, but when I ran the incident through my mind again later, the anger had turned into insecurity. She knows NOTHING about me, I told myself over and over again. But I still couldn't get her words out of my mind.
June 21, 2006 08:51 AM

[Chris]
That's a shitty insult. That's what I told her. I mean, who calls someone a fucktard anyway? Not to mention someone with one leg. If anything, she's the fucktard. Fucking bitch. Call me a fucktard...

[ladyphlogiston]
there's numbers? I never saw the numbers at the bottom before...anyway, insults. Silly ones. They never make sense. Who cares whether or not your father smelt of elderberries? I think the tone is probably far more important that the actual

"I didn't mean to insult anyone," Ted stood up, his hands raised. "Sir, I don't see how you could have expected any other reaction," answered the marshal. His gun was pointed at Ted and he'd just pulled the hammer back. "Marshal," stammered Ted, "all I did was offer to pay the woman for her services." "Sir," The marshal spat off to the side, "I know what you requested. These ladies are good, God-fearing whores. I don't know how they do things where you come from, but we don't go around asking ladies to do that kind of thing."

insults are circular. once one is uttered another follows in answer. ive noticed this is part of our lives... wanting to change it!
June 21, 2006 10:01 AM

[AG]
It hurts when he says it, stings my face like a wet towel. He didn't mean to be rude, but he was. Look at the idiot, he hasn't even realized it, turning away to dust his precious shelves. I want to throw those fucking books into the trash. Instead I just gather up my old letters from the trash.
June 21, 2006 10:38 AM

[Sam's club]
In fact, until that moment,he did not know his name was contained within the tribal markings of the tattoo."Don't take it as an insult,"I remember drunkenly stating,"I never saw it either."
June 21, 2006 10:41 AM

[Joe]
How you could you insult me like that? In front of everyone? Now you can taste the blood in your mouth, and I'm without a friend for now... What an insult to think I would do nothing about your insult...
June 21, 2006 10:47 AM

[Skye]
Adding insult to injury, she stepped her bare foot in dog poop after getting her heel stuck in the crack of the sidewalk a foot back.
June 21, 2006 10:54 AM

[anni]
When I get insulted, my feelings get really hurt. More hurt than they should. Whether it's because it was from someone who doesn't matter in the long run or because it was someone who cares about me and didn't mean any harm. I was proud of myself for last night. For finding good in

He had only been there 2 months, but this was a fucking insult. A 50 cent raise? He had put in far more work than anyone else at the office, and this is how they repay him? Someone owed him...and he was going to collect.
June 21, 2006 01:09 PM

[eryn]

[struja]
What to say, maybe today somewhere insulted me, but whoo cares.
June 21, 2006 02:27 PM

[Alex]
An insult can be a beautiful thing if used correctly. Instead of calling someone's mother a fat pig, try suggesting that they themselves do not have the guts even to tackle a clogged toliet. Subtlty is key.
June 21, 2006 02:29 PM

[Toyin]
What an insult, who does she thingk she is. After all I have done for her. She is taking me for granted. If only I could lay my hands on her i'll beat her black and blue. Some people do not respect their elders. What errant nonsense

I'm pedaling along, doing just above 20 miles per hour, when BAM! For the first time all year on the bike path - I got passed! Scared the hell out of me seeing as how I was talking aloud to myself. I let them pass and return to the correct path before I immediately passed them back. Pah!
June 21, 2006 02:57 PM

[sarah]
this is an insult to our...well..whatever that's supposed to be. but you've insulted it! and by insulting it, you've insulted me. what the hell is that thing anyway, wilson. i have no idea, sir.
June 21, 2006 03:27 PM

[James]
I hate people who insult others. They should shut up and stop breathing. If we would all learn to understand eachother things would be a lot easier. Fuck insulters. They should die. Peace-
June 21, 2006 03:47 PM

[Nic]
Don't insult me. Don't you dare. How can you look at me like I've done somehting wrong when it's you who broke my heart, when it's you who deserves to suffer all the pain the universe has to offer. How can you tell me that I'm a horrible person who will never amount to anything when you made me this way? How dare you even pretend to have the courage or the right to do so? I hate you, I hate you and because of that you cant insult me.
June 21, 2006 04:14 PM

[kat]
i'm the EPITAMY. It is the basis of all my jokes the more i insult you the happier i am, and you as well should be. I'm sorry i upset you but hey i'm a sarcastic individual.
June 21, 2006 04:27 PM

[Alex]
An insult is not what you think, not a projection of ones perception of you but merely a projection of what the speaker feels he is and wants not to be.
June 21, 2006 04:43 PM

[Lo-insulter of her craft]
I'm an insult to myself, hardly even worth it any more. To be a writer but not even to express into words what I feel to those around me, not able too express needc and feeling because I am scared, because I don't want to face them, because I can only hide. Speech is beyond me. It only spills from my finger tips and not my mouth. I have forgotten how to speak where my passion, my craft, my origin, lies in the voice. To write but never speak it. Isn't that wrong? Do I not insult my craft?
June 21, 2006 04:51 PM

ANGRY AT THE FACT THAT HALF THE PEOPLE THAT I WORK WITH ARE NOT DOING THERE JOBS AND WANT TO CAMPLIAN ABOAUT IT.
June 21, 2006 05:12 PM

[michele]
HaHa! I managed to forget to use the word! Let me try again: I'm pedaling along, doing just above 20 miles per hour, when BAM! For the first time all year on the bike path - I got passed! It was an insult to my ego and my calf muscles. I let them pass and return to the correct path before I immediately passed them back. Pah!

how cruel how awful it doesn't hurt, though. a bend in fresh aluminum dogs that bark too loudly. how cruel how awful it doesn't hurt though.

[Brian Hughes]
I hate it when that other girl, you know the one with the brown hair, insults me that way. In her way. She drives me carzy sometimes with her eyes. Lazy Suzan.
June 21, 2006 05:20 PM

[sETEVE dEWEY]
An Insult is a statement not neccessarily true to offend someone. iT IS NOT ALWAYS BASED ON FACR BUT PURE MEANESS
June 21, 2006 06:14 PM

[Taylor]
some peeople arr mean and they insult others. an isult is putting someone else down bc of there personal beliefs or just to be plain mean. Insults are never acceptable anywhrer or under any circumstances.
June 21, 2006 06:16 PM

[D Bishop]
It was a cutting barb. It bit deep into my ego, touching places I had long since forgotten . The rage welled up as I became engoulfed in the depth of the insult. A retort came to mind but I cut it off before it added to an already dark situation. What couldc I do/ Nothing. The insult was there, laying like a fetid fart, in the middle of what had begun as a potentially wonderful relationship. What next/ Where do we go from here? Is the damage done terminal? Who knows. The only thing to do is forge on from here and see.
June 21, 2006 06:25 PM

[Jenny]
I was hurt today, someone insulted me. They didn't have to but for some reason unbeknowest to me they felt the need to make themselves feel better about their own pathetic lives. Sometimes I want to curse at these people, but then I realize they can't help it.
June 21, 2006 06:28 PM

[Chrissy]
I insult you. you cry. you cut. you kill yourself. I am insulted by your stupidity. Insults are just a way of life. I apologize. oops. goodnight.

insulting may be good sometimes. nobody likes to be insulted though. Better keep this in mind.
June 21, 2006 06:34 PM

[Evan Lenoir]
how long is an insult? where does it come from? does is come from te inner most being of your soul? or the counterpart to its heart? an insult is a lack of security in one's soul. not knowing why or where to go.

Making lies the truth, horror sanity, and evil is the ultimate insult. Thank you, mister Bush. I want my country back.
June 21, 2006 06:47 PM

[andy]
You want to bring me down. You don't know who I am, and don't care to know. You jab at me, poking your finger into my ribs-between the slats. You prod and feel your way around my life, searching for the soft spots, the spaces in between my confidences and beliefs. You tear me down to build yourself up.
June 21, 2006 06:48 PM

[Mitzi]
Don't insult me! Be nice! There's no excuse for rudeness! We can't get along with all this mean, nasty talk. What would your mother say, hearing you talk like that? Enough with insults, already! I mean it, jerk!
June 21, 2006 06:50 PM

[Ravyn]
There's something delicious about the insult to the body, having her hand, all of it, waaay up in there, right up to the wrist. I mean, you should try it sometime. It'll just make you scream.
June 21, 2006 06:51 PM

[Beth]
I have received many insults in my day. Just today in fact. Someone called me a dyke. I am far from a dyke. I just hate labels. Insults are meaningless. Words, with no grasp for importance. Hurtful? only if you let them be this way. Insults are like the bottom of a garbage can, smelly and disgusting. Insults, well, take this and shove it!
June 21, 2006 06:54 PM

[Elliott]
Why must we insult one another with racial slures it tends to be an insult of ones intellegence to the relavance of color
June 21, 2006 07:01 PM

Sharp edge knife slit to an unguarded back. Our legs have been handed to us in glass cases, we are diminished and undone in one fatal blow. Come closer, the failure is everywhere.

But please your momma is so disgusting that her nails fall off when I want to give her a raspberry! I feel like she would kill me for a hamburger! I'm, sorry, you're sorry, but that's not what matters. What matters is that you're ready to die for a life not yet completed.

She put down the phone and cried a little and picked it back up like nothing had happened. "You're a fucking bastard, you know that?" she sobbed through her perfect little lips. "I fucking hate you and I want you to die." You might say that it was the beginning of a loving relationship.
June 21, 2006 07:20 PM

[Austin]
This is a hurtful way to show your disdain or disagreement with another person. Most of the time you do on purpose, but sometimes you say things that unintentionally hurt another person. It's sad, but it happens all the time.

i heard a man typing loudly on a keyboard. i looked over to him and could see the sweat dripping from his brow. He was mummbling something I couldn't pick out but walked by ant saw plenty. HATE. HATE. FUCK. YOU.

Insult is a word I've learned about in the last few days. Insults can arise without the insultee or the insulted realizing it. A scary thought - to me at least.

I'm one of those types who doesn't react immediately to insulting comments or gestures. For me, it usually takes a day to sink in. And I get pissier and pissier as time goes by -- until I can't stand it anymore and explode in a rage at the "nerve" and the "self-serving attitude" and the "who-do-you-think-you-are?" to say that/call that/imply that to me? Huh? Well, back at ya, buster. Back at ya . . .That's right. And your little dog, too.

"We have a real insult-to-injury situation here," said the publicist to his charge. "The injury, well, I think that speaks for itself. But if the press finds out that the biggest star in Hollywood lost his penis to a woodshop vacuum, the insults are going to be profound."

insult
June 21, 2006 08:29 PM

[10 downing]
An insult is reletive to the giver and to the receiver according to culture, social standing, race, sex and on and on. In norht american culture insults are often based on sexual function where as in european culture they are more often aimed at religious standing. This is just hte way I see it. I try not to insult people, but sometimes you do with out even realizing you have. A person with out children may be insulted by the insinuation that comes with the question, do you have children? I am at a loss to explain intentional insults but have, in my past, taken great pleasure in insulting a buffoon who didn't know he was being insulted. That is the subtlety. of tact. Tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they anticipate the trip.
June 21, 2006 08:30 PM

insulting peaople leads to bad selfesteem and bad desicions oh crap sis i really not do any of this in my essy? i'm screwed, i totally forgot about the whole, if thin thingy oh well, i had examples.....insults can be mean and cruel but they can also be just as a joke for the humoursous effect, we really have no control how the other person interprets it so the best way to make sure no one is offended is to not say anything bad in the fist place. Also some people take everything to heart and if you want to joke around with someone you better know how they'll take it, otherwise you b\could be in deep trouble, hey this is like creative writing, maybe this is where she got her ideas, i really miss that class actually, i didn't like how much writin gthere was everysda but not it was kind of like a journal and i really wish that i signed up for next year....oh well, maybe they'll offer it in gr.12 fo rus, myabe ally would join, no wait she hates creaticve writing, that'd be funny, ally in creative writing, maybe she could learn to love it...

Hurt. Abuse. Fighting for justice. Fighting for your pride. Healing. Wounded. Not letting go. Seething. Constant attention to the negative. Why? Loved ones will always do this to you and that will be the worst injury of them all. They know you. They can't help it. Quick ache. Constant ache.
June 21, 2006 08:47 PM

[mervin heinz]
insulting people is fun, but it's not very nice to do. sometimes i feel insulted by things that people say that are really innocuous. I guess that's part of having an ego that's out of control. I'm not sure why distributing them is so pleasureable. maybe it gives our egos a stroking.
June 21, 2006 09:09 PM

[Michelle]
Her accusing eyes were trying to look away--trying to tear themselves away from the attempt of a statement you were making. But you were standing there frightened to the bone and you couldn't go on this way. You traced the steps from your apartment to her place, then reversed and retraced. Out on her porch, it feels like old times again, except with an indelible line separating the two of you for the rest of time.
June 21, 2006 09:23 PM

[Breea]
What people always think I'm doing to them, and what I feel that people tend to do to me in return. Insult to me is misunderstanding someone, for the most part. It's not always malicious. Sensitive, overly so, is also linked with this word to me. Overly sensitive, not seeing advice when its given, all of them can add up to the feeling of being insulted.
June 21, 2006 09:24 PM

she insulted me with every breath she took everytime she walked past my heart pained with envy she insulted me with every stride. every time her arm fell on him and not me. She insulted me.

sometimes i feel insulted by the simplest things, like when people assume i can't do something or don't know something and i just want to shout at them that i'm not stupid, i can do this on my own, but mostly people don't insult me and i only feel envious that i can't be like anyone else and more importantly i can't be around anyone else in order to actually feel insulted in the first place

"I hate you. Your momma is fat. You are ugly. You are the stupidest person in the world." However common, insulting is for the less than intelligent. Insulting is not right, nor does it ever bring about good fruits. Instead, it causes strife, anger, bitterness, and depression.

insult, is what people do to each other all the time, they insult one another to gain some form of power of the other person, how ever there are simple little loop holes to this, 2 friends my insult one another just for the fun of it, which is ok, since they both know nothing isment by the insult to begin with, and they are only having a good time oking around with each other. another time when insults are ok is when your someone you know is telling a lie to everyone else and you know its not, so you insult them to shut there lies up

It's an insult to the American people, and indeed to the world, that our leaders try to justify the war in Iraq. It's a greater insult still to the young men and women who are giving their lives, believing that they are somehow securing American liberty. Perhaps most of all, it's an insult to the intelligence of any reasonably educated, literate being. No one with the ability to THINK believes that we are justified in continuing this war.

Insults are a banter of the wit. You can either be insulted, or insult someone. ALthough it takes a hell of a reportoire to come back with a zinger, having the cynical personality required to have that sort of wit is more than worth it. It's more romantic that what people make it out to be. Insults can break a person's spirit.

something that someone throws at someone they dislike, a dis, not a compliment actually the exact opposite of, something you say to a friend when they are down as a "joke" to try and brighten their day, something you say to an ex-friend not as a joke to fuck them up, to say something to piss someone off, yet another thing I am good at, lots of these floating around the world today, something said to someone you dislike, a mean word, to put someone down and say you are bettter than them, not an out slut but an in slut, something that "in" people do, commonly known as a "dis", do not say these to your parents if you know what is good for you, how long is sixty seconds....it's gotta be over by now, I swear if I hear one more of those INSULT's today I'm gonna kick your ass you stupid bitch, does this just stop at sixty seconds b/c it didn't for me....think I was spose to stop when the meter ran out, for better entries try making the typing stop when time runs out. thank you have a nice day, do not spam me either

i used salt one time at a restaurant. It wasn't bad. I had a burger and put some pepper and salt on it. I didn't like it that much since I'm not big on condiments. I enjoy mustard and ketchup, however.

As if to add insult to injury, he doesn't even call. He just ignores Ivan, as if that whole part of his life has faded away. Ivan glares at the phone. How can this happen? he wonders. How can someone forget being so much a part of someone that it was like having one heart, one soul? The phone rings, and the blond man dives for it, hanging up as soon as he hears David's voice.

"don't insult me", he said. i didn't even know what i said that insulted him. i just said, hello, and what's crackin? the look on his face told the story, only i didn't get it. what could possibily be offensive about that? later, i found out that he had a serious skin disorder, where the skin on his hands, feet, knees, and elbows were incessantly and horribly cracked. no relief. painful. no cure. so, i guess the greeting, what's crackin' hurt. wow. who could have known? the guy was covered, weather-wise, completley inappropriately. he looked like he was prepared for a minnesota winter - only it was august. i guess that should have been my first clue.

not ver nice things to do. its horrible people get offended it can make people hurt and sad. if you insult someone who is disabled they may try and hit you but some may not be able to move their arms or legs so you would probab;y get away with it. unless they spat in your face. twice. that would be nasty. but deserved.

"What's that supposed to mean?" "Exactly what I said." "So, you think I'm fat?" "No. That's not what I said. I said I like the blue ones you had on earlier better." "So you think these make me look fat." "Maybe I like blue. Maybe they were better." "That's an insult. I look terrible in blue."
