  1. I am discovering a lot about myself as I navigate these “adult world”. I left home, heck, even left the country for a job. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I don’t. But I have come to realize, I’m stronger than I thought. And I find when I get lost in translation or the streets of Japan, I almost always manage to find my way back. And it is one big adventure I’m glad I decided not to miss out on.

  2. Of late, I’m discovering yet again that I can get my hands on all things I fancy. But I can think of no creative way to acquire what I desire most, even if it is in arm’s reach.

  3. There was a small glint coming from a place where no glinting seemed possible. It seemed to reach out, beckoning, begging…it needed to be found. It needed to be plucked from a place where it was never adored.

  4. it happens slowly, daily, without us noticing it. you look back and realize everything that has passed you to bring you to where you are now. how you’ve changed. opened. added layers around yourself to protect you from the cold outside

  7. I didn’t mean to. It wasn’t supposed to end up this way. My family is composed of completely average, intellectual people who wouldn’t possible commit any action this vile. Yet here in the attic, in a heavy, metal plated trunk, lay two grimy skeletons, curled into balls. Their final positions.

  8. Discovering that someone had an illness is a very strange feeling. It is a diminishing of every daily negative emotion we have about our lives, a readjustment of perspective. Ill people make us feel more alive than we ever knew how to be without them, and therefore teach us that we all have a lesson to learn through the challenges we face.

  9. After discovering that the boyfriend of the girl he was looking for was with one of the biggest crime organisations in Japan, Ohara reviewed his strategy. He contacted the Hostess bar where she had worked, and was glad to find out that the boyfriend had come back, quite fervently, and violently, looking for her. He was glad, despite getting an earful from the Mama San, because that meant that the boyfriend didn’t know where she was either.

  10. Discovering something of such great importance immediately siphoned an enormous emotional reaction from her. Unfortunately, there was so much emotion coming from her that she ended up pausing and couldn’t do anything more than sit there with the largest grin one had ever seen.

  11. She took the dirt road, ignoring the huge “Do Not Enter” sign with the crossbones. With one hand dangling out of the window, and the other on the wheel, she smirked as the dust rose from her intrusion. There was nothing but dirt ahead, but it beautiful compared to what she’d left behind.
