  1. I drive home on a valley road
    high on a rusted hill
    exploding wild green
    in the heavy rain

    northwest twenty miles
    to the sea
    southwest twenty three
    to the city

    and I thirst for you
    over all things

    I could lay the rainbow
    in the river
    bite the sun
    like an apple

    but i am dust
    until we two

  2. i am afraid of why they are watching. what are you watching for
    so high up
    able to see all
    oncoming danger
or innocence that will soon be unfairly lost
    due to a war?

  3. Watchtowers are things overlooking towns, villages, etc. They are building but noble guards themselves. People look up and admire them. They can be humanlike if you interpret it that way. Tall and brave.

  4. “Get to the watchtower, Marie, hurry!” cried Isabel, struggling to maintain her balance on the jagged rocks. She could still feel blood oozing from the wound on her leg, and her vision started to blur. “Get the message to Bartholomew…just go.” And then, she stumbled.

“I’m not leaving you!” Marie yelled, wind blowing her hair every which way and rain splattering her face. She ran down the short path, hoisting the unconscious girl on her back. “We go together, or not at all.”

  5. There once was a lonely old man that lived in a watchtower next to the sea.

  6. The view from the top is not as impressive now as it once was; it’s hard to believe that this was once a necessary defence against invaders. Nothing remains but cracked earth for miles, and not a soul to be seen

  7. When sit and look outside of my window on the 22nd floor in brooklyn, ny, sometimes I feel as if I am on top of the world. Brooklyn is changing, and some say that it will soon be the new Manhattan. Ive only been here for about a month so I have no idea what this city has in store for me. I am eager to meet new people and expand my network. The more i know, the higher I rise, which again, reminds me of a watch tower. Currently, because I am new to the city, I am feeling a bit like an island in the middle of the ocean, observing everything around me and trying to determine where I fit into the large abyss of commotion around me. Although it may be lonely at times, I still find peace in knowing that I am on the right track and moving closing to my ideal life. I definitely and testing my boundaries and my comfort zone, which, in my opinion, means that I am progressing and evolving into the brave, strong, intelligent, influential, successful person that I want to me. I am eager to start my rotational program that will open up a variety of doors for me and I can’t wait to learn about topics that I don’t even know that I do not know. Knowledge is limitless and I plan to soak up as much as I can while I am on this earth and pass it on.

  8. There must be some kind of way out of here,
Said the joker to the thief,
There’s too much confusion, I can’t get no relief.
Business men – they drink my wine
    Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the wine
    Nobody of it is worth.

    No reason to get excited,
The thief – he kindly spoke,
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I we’ve been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
    The hour’s getting late.

    All along the watchtower
    Princess kept the view
    While all the women came
    And went bare-foot servants too
    Outside in the cold distance
    A wild cat did growl
    Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey.

  17. Along the watchtower solders waited for the opposing army to come. Towers immense and formidable against the weather and with-standing time itself. One to another they connected by solid stone walls to oppress the barbarian tribes. Those barbarian tribes who where only looking to preserve their culture. Soldiers leaving in wake young women and children for what?
Emily waited at home well aware of her husbands fate.

  18. They tower over us like vultures ready to attack. I know they won’t but to know they can is an unappealing sense of fear. They look so dominant up in their watchtower. They may think they’re better than us, but we know better. We are not arrogant… we may not be strong… but one day we will gain freedom… whatever that is.

  19. there are watch towers by prisons and they usually have guards in them and sometimes have lights on them. They might also be connected by fences. I always associate them with prisons. Do they have watch towers in places besides around prisons? I’d have to look it up.

  22. eren looks up at the tall tower and sees a soft, sullen face staring back at him from a window.

    by EV Hadley on 06.13.2014
  24. All along the watchtower, Jimi Hendrix said.

Though I prefer the rigidness of a big stable stone watchtower to Jimi’s screaming tones.

The tower that watches for ships and has a strong light and not the tower that watches for enemies, for enemies do not exist.

  25. All along the watch tower….Maybe there is no way out of here…..We may just keep circulating. Soulds, energy, or just pure nothingness and life. Bounching around this plane of existance forever. It seems to me all the people who think there is a way out of here into an after life…are the ones that casue all the trouble.

  26. The shadow was protected by a layer of dark. A shroud of coverage that could not be penetrated. The light from the watchtower. Searching. Livid. Could not pierce the dark and spy the shadow creeping closer and closer to its mark.

  28. She didn’t know what she was looking for, just that she would die if she failed to find it. Elisavet had warned her of the repercussions of a failed mission, and she replayed her ominous words over and over in her mind: “If you don’t find it, they will find you.”

They could have offered her a bit more guidance. Now she was stuck, fighting for her life — and against what?

    by Thespiana on 06.13.2014
  29. She sticks her eyes to the watchtower, her usual regimine, that did cause distraction upon flipping to someone new. A man, who stood above the cherishable yellow and blue window chimes, he glowered back with a fiery zeal. From then on, man met women, love met its destiny.

  30. Her golden hair lifted in the breeze coming through the cobblestone-framed window. The view it offered was glorious: the mountains of Azure framing the blue sky in the far-off distance, the forest of Wanderers nestled at the stony feet, and then the open field stretching to the castle gates.

“It’s beautiful, Stefan.” She spoke to the boy beside her.

  31. The wind blew in her face causing tears to form in her eyes. The Watch Tower was miles from the town centre. Rumour was it was haunted, abandoned. Katie never believed it, she knew for a fact it was all for publicity.

  32. As I look down on the town where my life revives vitality,
the citizenry glares at me up on above, irrationality,
a gaze of envy, splitting time as does a freckle on a hair,
surging from quick retorts, anxious to polish my glasses,
From the watchtower distance does not halt,
a crickets chirping is heard by neighbors galor,
a dogs weeping creeps cracks of brick walls,
must I stay up high to shun their grasping claws,
for down below, where I see my self equal, they yearn,
with gnarls that an inferno can only reckon
    I hear, I hear,
trying to smear swollen whiteness of my burnt finger.

  33. The guard stood at the top of the watchtower watching over the medieval city. Suddenly a dragon flew over the tower and started destroying the town. Unfortunately, the watchtower did not have any stairs, so the guard was helpless in helping the city from being destroyed.

  34. i take a vista-view, i climb high to make sure my dreams stay within sight, stay within my memory… then i climb back down and dig the earth, and it’s good, because my mind is staying focused on the prize, and that focus sends life into everything i do.

  35. He stood by the watchtower, gazing out into the vast expanse of the ocean, wondering what went wrong in the recent conversation he had. He loved Danny from the bottom of his heart, and yet, couldn’t let go of the fact that he had a history with Andrew, another person that he loves. He wondered if what he was thinking was right, if it was possible to love two people at the same time. He definitely knew that it wasn’t fair, that both men, as wonderful as they are, would not be able to handle the fact that there was another person in the background, possibly vying for the same man, him. What should he do?

It’s odd how time changes a person. One moment he’s in the closet, forcing himself to date women for the sake of not being ridiculed by society. Next moment, he has accepted himself, and gotten a whole series of men lining up to date him, to treat him like a prince, to make him feel special. The thoughts running through his head was giving him a headache.
