  1. i suppose many people get visited by the black dog once in their life. and when that time comes, it’s good to have a shelf, even a whole storage room full of memories bottled up like good wine, to open up in one particularly dark night, so that the spirits of the past may fill your nostrils and dye your tongue with the taste of happiness, when you had all but forgotten about that falvour.

  3. I held her in my arms, chanting desperately, “Don’t go, don’t go, don’t leave me,” as I kissed her on her lips; she’s no longer warm, she was cold. “I love you,” Yes, I love you, and not even death could do us part.

  4. I was in desperation this week trying to work hard as I could to keep customers from leaving my company.

  5. Sweaty palms, cold face, and of course the shakes. She becomes clumsier with each grab, each sharp spike of breath, jagged. Her eyes are so wide you could fall into them–i only she would look at you for longer than a split second.

    The world flies apart into only its facets.

  7. She had no job and no money. Three children to look after and no idea where the money was coming from to feed them. In her desperation she stole a loaf of bread from the local grocers.

    He wants to pass the cup, so very ready to give up. His broken heart palpitates so painfully in his chest – father – he cries out. His desperation no one could ever best. He takes the cup. It is finished, he kisses you and embraces me.

  12. Desperation is what I’m feeling right now. I desperately need a job, friends, to get out of the freaking house. I don’t like living with this kind of desperation but it is a way of living that can’t be changed easily.
