  5. Today I thouht I write about the word derive. Where did the word derive, derive from? Was it meant to mean something else or did it’s creator simply want to derive a word that meant to take from.

  10. It took me what seemed a lifetime to derive the answer to the question that had plagued me. Why have I remained alone for so many years…. I’ve been treading water waiting for him to swim up to me and claim me as his soulmate. It had to be this way. I had to be karmicaly free of all past lives and past lovers. The age old question, evolution or god is one that comes up often, perhaps too often and all surrounds where we derived from. Now, I derive from my two parents, of that i am certain, but what about the history of man, what about the history of animals, of objects, of concepts. All can be reveal in history. Another definition of derive is to: obtain something from (a specified source). I.e, one can derive comfort from a chair, or food from a shop, water from a hole.

  23. A lot of our modern day words derive from other languages. Latin being the most used. I cant say I particularly enjoyed Latin at school though.

  26. Yeah, that’s a math term. I come on here to procrastinate my Stats exam and I get a math term. Not the exam has anything to do with derivatives, but still, way to mess up my distraction.

  27. It’s strange the things people derive pleasure from. A person trips, a person falls, and the world laughs. A person stands up straight, a person does what is right, and the world shrugs and moves on. “Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and your cry alone.”

  28. I told him I have to go. What he chooses to derive from it is his problem. But then, it isn’t like I want to be rude or push him away for that matter. There were needles and crack pipes strewn about the room, left carelessly now. He hadn’t ever summoned the nerve to taste the poison she fed herself, but there was nothing that could make him see how she could derive pleasure from anything in this hellhole.

  36. I sank down at the table, my mathbook making a thunk next to me. I looked at the problems, and the assignment trying not to cry. There were at least 100, and with no calculator allowed. God my math teacher was a dick.

    I pulled my notebook twoards me, and began to work, numbers flying through my head at a mile a minnute. I did the usual and put charecters to the numbers to help myself get through the tough parts. I was a wordie at heart and couldn’t stand numbers. They confused me to no end.

    Looking at all the problems I had to do I broke down, and put my head into the spine of the book, feeling hopeless.
