  1. Her influence over me was so real and intoxiating. I felt that it went both ways. We could not stop ourselves from tearing every stitch of clothes form each others bodies in wanton lust and nastiness, urging to satisfiy each others primitive needs

  2. I was young at the time, about five or six. It was something tiny, not wanting the crusts on her sandwich. But she was older, and to me, wiser. So I followed her lead and wanted my sandwich without the crusts as well.

    It’s funny how something so tiny, such as seeing someone not want the crust on their bread, can carry over so many years into the future.

  3. It was always my nature to set a good example for the kids I saw on a day-to-day basis. It was such a gift to me to see the respect that developed between us. I guess that was what I was in it for in the first place.

  4. It’s all right to have people to look up to, but in the end it’s your life to live. You can allow your peers, role models in influence your choices, but you can’t completely follow their footsteps. Make your own path, be an influence to others to come and learn from.

  7. the right one is about the finding the right mix at the right time with all the openness one can have. It must just feel right and at times it might in the first part but it does somewhere. Accept. Be fresh. Live with it.

  10. I tried to influence her for the better, but she couldn’t change. It was an uphill battle the whole way, and I hoped for both our sakes that there would be a change.   13. We are influenced by who we associate ourselves with. Positive or negative, we are influenced.

  14. People around me have been a big influence in my life – whether good or bad. However, at least, they have caused me to either grow up or hate growing up. They contributed a big part to who I am now, and for that matter, I’d like to express my gratitude for them.

The influence of peers is often referred to negatively as “peer pressure” but sometimes it is a good thing; not all drugs and sex and wild behavior, but striving for athletic performance, for bettering of one’s self, for friendship and camaraderie. I see this in my 3 year old and hope he remains susceptible to the positive influence of his friends’ behaviors.
