  1. I want to petition to do something great in the world. What that is, I don’t know, I just know that I don’t want to live my life having done nothing significant for someone else. Something big, Something awesome. Something that shows that I care, and that I am a greater person than I seem to portray myself as. I’m better than this crap I do now.

  2. She had called each of her friends and extolled the virtues of her plan for hours to each. She had written to her member of government. She had organized bake sales and printed off bumper stickers. Yet no one knew or cared much about the changes she was proposing; people were missing their favorite shows, hadn’t they worked enough that week? Moralizing wasn’t getting anywheres. She had one option left, she was going to the hardware store and buying a gun.

Does it help the causes it is meant to? What petition would I sign? I know what I believe in but how do I know that by signing my name you know it too?

  8. They help sometimes. But, often if a petition is against something that will gain someone massive amounts of money, they go unnoticed. Social issues can be affected by a petition but capital will not.

  17. The petition for the removal of the pigeons was being promoted by a company of paranoid old men who were worried about disease. While there is certainly a danger in pigeon mess, it’s not nearly so bad or so likely to infect folks as the fantastically fragrant fumes of their old gas guzzling cars.
