  1. It was a warm and sunny day, and the farmer had a straw in his mouth. he always had a straw in his mouth. It was his safety blanket. And I swear it was the same straw, day-in and day-out. I loved that man. But I swear, he could’ve found something better to chew on, instead of a straw.

  2. God that’s it. The last straw… You have broken me. I am yours. Hold me in Your arms; You are all I need. In You is the light, it shines in the darkness and the darkest cannot overcome You. Your steadfast love endures forever. You are all I need.

  3. It is yellow and stringy and dry. It itches my eyes and makes them water. It feeds many animals and keeps their stalls dry and warm. It makes hats and baskets. It is certainly nifty.

  5. something that you drink from. can be very bendy and twisty or just plain straight! I hate it when you drink a cold milkshake and it is hard to sip the shake through the straw. I wonder if you can blow bubbles out of a straw… hmm.. I’m going to try that!

  6. Straw makes me think of hay, and hay makes me think of the farm across the road from my grandparents’ house. We used to go over there in the summertime, and look for the kittens that the barn cats would have each year. We’d name the kittens after our favourite superheroes and sports teams. The best one was Blue Jay, a black and white kitten with floppy ears.

  7. Straws are pretty cool. I mean there’s though windy colorful straws, or those pretty bendy straws. Or you could even be talking about straw that like cows eat! Do they eat straw? Am i stupid? Well I know scarecrows are made of straw! That’s cool I guess. This reminds me of Halloween even though it’s July. Ohwell, if only there was Christmas in July!

  8. The straw was walking down the road. It had no place to go. It had no home. The world had killed it’s joy. Killed it’s soul. Everything ends. Nigga.

  11. The polls are at once everything, and nothing. Phone banks relying on the increasingly outdated format of land lines, while the majority of us are about without the tether to the 20th Century. Straw polls, once lauded upon, then laughed off, regain their place as the irreducible construct that is the sovereignty held between one’s ears.

  12. Her hair was straw. I stared down at in in disgust. How could I style this dry, practically colorless hair into something worth money? I fluffed my own luscious black hair and got to work. They really don’t pay us barbers enough.

  13. My instrument of my true medium. Without it I cannot achieve the frothy towers of chocolate bubbles in my chocolate milk. No mouth alone can achieve (with similar grace) the level of bubbles teetering over the edge of the glass just before they spill over like a straw.

  14. My instrument to enjoyment. Without it I cannot achieve the frothy towers of chocolate bubbles in my chocolate milk. No mouth alone can achieve (with similar grace) the level of bubbles teetering over the edge of the glass just before they spill over like a straw.

  15. This was the last straw. Blazhe simply couldn’t take it anymore. He packed his bags and was reaching for the doorknob when it hit him.

    Maybe Reina was right…

This was the second-to-last straw then.

  16. I stared down at my strawberry smoothie, stared at the little clumps of fruit being sucked up through the straw. I could feel him, knees almost touching mine as he sat across from me in the battered booth we had slit into, felt him watching me. I did my best not to look up.

  17. On a slim and large glass filled with some high leveled liquor. Some ice too.

  18. I drank my strawberry smoothie, watching it flood up through the straw. Avoiding eye contact with him, sitting across from me. I could feel him staring at me, waiting for me to say something. I felt like crying, this whole time I missed him so much and there he was, right across from me, in our towns small diner.

  19. When I was a kid, I always wanted to jump in a pile of straw. One of those big, beautiful piles, that smell like an unknown farm somewhere in the country. I don’t live near the country, strictly a city girl. The straw held a foreign culture, it was the key to a land that I could never escape to… because I simply couldn’t drive.

  20. I would sip a smoothie through a straw. A root beer float would be good too right now. I guess the phrase “last straw” comes to mind. The straw that broke the camel’s back? Hay? Hey. Yep. That’s all I got.

  25. I’m familiar with the straw that broke the camel’s back. I revisit this straw again and again. It is when my passive aggressive nature explodes into a driven fury. My intended target withers under the hot breath of the wrath of a 1,000 injustices that were stuffed quietly away. Reasonable? Nope.

  26. “That’s it. That’s the last straw.”

    “Now don’t fly off half-cocked.”

    “Oh, I’m fully cocked.”

    “Look, just relax.”

“Don’t tell me to relax. I’m relaxed. And fully cocked. And tired of his excuses.”

  27. My hair always felt gross like straw. Since I’ve dyed it blonde to many times before, it feels broken, just like straw does. I don’t know how to repair the feeling, because how do people straw? You can’t.

  28. As I sat in the rear of the tractor I saw some straw fly across the wind and I noticed how the golden grain seemed to glisten in the sun until it was lost in a sea of green grass below me. A needle in haystack became straw in the grass until I found it had landed on a small flower just 3 inches tall.

  29. straw.. . . Hmmm. . . Like the kind you put at the bottom of a horses stall or the kind you are drinking a delicious milkshake out of? I personally love milkshakes. =) There are wonderful and full of awesomeness! Unless it’s banana. . . . ewww. I don’t know how anyone puts banana in anything!
